General Hospital Update for Friday, 11-Jan-2008

Interesting Friday! It looks like there's more trouble brewing for the citizens of Port Charles. There's a house fire starting at Liz's, which could put Jake in mortal danger, a good man cracks and makes what could be a potentially fatal mistake, Skye says her goodbyes to Port Charles and Luke is on the road again.
Did I forget that it looks like Sonny and Kate are going to try again, Lucky makes Sam see the error of her ways and Carly is STILL butting into everyone's business? Where do we start, right?
Over at Liz's house, Cameron is fascinated with playing with matches. He gets a stern talking-to from his mother and we think that's the end of it. But that's not the case.
The first time it happened, he ran out of the house and Liz told him not to close the door, since there was a problem with the doorknob and the door would lock behind him. And of course, it happened.
He did it again, and ran out of the house, with Liz behind him this time. This time could prove to be deadly, however. The door locked behind them, but Cameron had lit a match this time and tossed it into the trash when he heard his mother.
When they came back, the living room was on fire--and Jake was still in his crib upstairs! AND the door is locked!!
On to what happens when good people snap. We all remember Joe, Mike's friend and the local mechanic, right?
He's at GH with his very pregnant wife, who still is no better after taking an over-the-counter cold remedy.
After his insurance is checked, the lovely Miss Sneed tells him that there's a problem with his payments, and he's going to have to take his wife to County hospital.
They leave, but they comeback soon afterwards. When he's asked by the nurses in the Emergency Room if he's brought his insurance card, Joe says "Yes," showing them the bomb he has strapped to his chest!
Now, Skye. She's definately leaving Port Charles and spends the whole episode saying good-bye to her friends and enemies.
She ignores the snub Monica gives her and has a touching goodbye with Luke--and helps break him out of the hospital in the process.
Luke (who was due to be discharged anyway) posed as her driver before saying goodbye to Skye and hitting the road--AGAIN!!
On to Kate. She's due at yet another A-list party, where it seems that Warren is going to make the formal announcment that she's back at Couture. After that, she has the airline tickets in hand to fly to Paris.
It's not enough, though, as it seems that she can't get Sonny out of her mind. She tears up the airline tickets and throws them in the fireplace. Afterwards, there's a knock at the door. Surprise, it's guess who. Sonny!
Now Carly can't give it up. (Are we surprised?) She asks Sonny before he leaves town where Diane is, because she wants her to file immediate papers giving Jason joint custody of Jake. First off, Diane is galavanting at biker bars with Alexis, remember? And second, Sonny is also sick of his ex-wife's meddling and also tells her to give it a rest.
Jacks is also on the bandwagon here. He tracks down Carly and asks when he is going to come first in their lives. About time!
Finally, Sam and Lucky. Lucky is the first person to actually get through to Sam, finally convincing her that since she was hurt by Jason and Liz's deception re Jake's paternity, she is doing everything she can to lash out at others in return.
Lucky tells her that he was able to get help for his addiction problems and gently suggests that she needs to do the same.
It seems like it worked, and Sam tells Lucky that she will do what he suggests. I only hope it does, for her sake!
Well, on to Monday. Hope Jake gets out of that burning house!
