General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 21-Nov-2007

A bittersweet day for our friends in Port Charles today. It's Thanksgiving, when most try to count their blessings, which some are doing at General Hospital and other places, but sadness is in the air at the Q mansion.
As we all know, PC's richest family is mourning the loss of yet another member this year: the lovely Emily.
It was also a day when some familiar faces who haven't been heard from in awhile came back to help deal with this crisis.
Ned, who is the Quartermaine family rock in any crisis, is there, and he's also joined by Dylan. They both said they came back originally for Thanksgiving, but like Ned says, everyone "plans to clear their calendars" for Em's funeral next week.
Monica is having a hard time dealing with the loss of her only daughter. After the news was broken to her by Jason, she's taken her anger out on him; telling him that he's not welcome at Emily's funeral.
The only person whom she listens to at this time is Bobbie, who also hasn't had much to do in Port C lately, but is there for her friend at this dark hour.
Bobbie shares with Monica her feelings at the time of her daughter BJ's death, which her friend seems to draw strength from.
The Q family is later joined by Skye and Lila Rae, who is fast turning into a beautiful little girl. Having them there helped everyone, it seemed.
There was yet another Quartermaine missing from the fold at the mansion: Edward, who chose to observe the holiday at GH by honoring Em's memory.
He did that by providing a catered Thanksgiving dinner for the staff there, which was much appreciated.
On to those counting their blessings now--and since we are at GH, let's start with those who are there; beginning with Luke and Tracy.
Luke is recovering from heart bypass surgery and is starting to realize how close he came to death while at Windemere.
He's also realizing how much he loves Tracy and she's seeing how much this old rascal means to her. Kinda sweet, right?
But as Dr. Julian has told him, Luke is going to have to make serious lifestyle changes, so no more drinking and smoking for him!
Patrick visits Leyla at GH, who is recovering from the gunshot wound she got at Windemere. He comes into her room bearing toy race cars...nuff said!
Carly and Jacks are preparing for their first Thanksgiving as a family with the boys--and no, she's not cooking! The food is being provided by Mike, thank god--but even so, everyone is agonizing over how to break the news of Emily's death to the boys.
Mac is doing up a bird for his nieces and tells everyone they can bring one guest. Naturally, Georgie invites Spinelli, who decides to go shopping for food items that were served at the first Thanksgiving. Who else but the Jackal, right??
Mac also pulls a fast one, getting Coop over there so he and Maxie can start making up, so he's also at the table.
Robin is also there, but alone. Patrick had an invite, but thought it was wise to turn it down, due to the state of their relationship.
Finally, Nicholas. He's not doing well after recent events and has sent Spencer to stay with Leslie, his great grandmother, who also makes an appearance today.
Leslie gently tells him that he and Spencer need each other, but Nick isn't hearing it yet, poor guy.
And with that, Happy turkey day and see you next week!
