Summer's going out with a bang in Port C! And what better way to end on a high note than rocking out with Rick Springfield, right? And if that's not enough for you, Jason and Spinelli took revenge on the thugs who scared Liz in the park, the Jerry and Irina story comes to a head, Lucky and Sam are in a liplock and it's all topped off by Ric finding out that his daddy's in town!
The biggest action in town today was the Lifebeat benefit concert to fight pediatric AIDS, featuring 80's rocker Eli Love as the headliner. As we all know, Eli's been indisposed of late, having just gone through brain surgery at GH. But it always helps when you have a perfect double, in the form of Noah Drake to pull it off.
The original plan was for Noah (Rick Springfield) to stand in front of the band and lip-synch to a few records, but a bad case of stage fright threatened to derail the whole thing.
Naturally, Anna stepped in and saved the day, giving Noah a big kiss on stage. She also spoke passionately about being the mother of a child living with HIV, which was very moving. It also helped that the real Eli signed himself out of GH against medical advice and was off-stage in a wheelchair, ready to sing at a moment's notice.
The music started, Eli started singing, Noah started lip-synching, and noone was the wiser. Singing Rick Springfield's newest song, "Who Killed Rock and Roll?", Eli and the band were a smash!
Afterwards, Anna told Noah, Patrick and Robin that she has been called to a new assignment in London and will have to leave. She also told Robin that she's ready to get the grandmother thing down, so we need to stay tuned on that score!
On to Jason and Spinelli, who are hot on the trail of the men who threatened Liz in the park. They find them in a hotel near the Canadian border and Jason's going to teach them a lesson.
Spinelli talks him out of killing them, thankfully, but Jason does enough damage to them to make them spill the beans about Sam hiring them just to scare Liz. This can not be good.
And speaking of Sam, she's now having second thoughts about hiring Lucky as her bodyguard, especially since Liz came over to her apartment and saw Lucky standing there! She tells Lucky that having him as her bodyguard can't be a good thing for him, as he and Liz have enough to work on in their marriage right now. Lucky doesn't agree, and pulls Sam into his arms and kisses her. Hot, hot HOT!!!!!
On to Ric finding out that daddy's in town...It turns out that Kate's old flame Trevor Lansing is actually Ric's father! Trevor is also the attorney for one of the leading mob bosses in New York City, who is soon coming to Port Charles to challenge Sonny's empire.
Sonny tries to warn Kate about the connection, but she's too worried about her upcoming trial for reckless driving to care. She calls Rick to her hotel room at the Metrocourt and tells him that he's going to be dropping the charges, and springs this bombshell on him.
Finally, Jerry and Irina. Carly and Jerry have found the ship where Irina is holding Jacks hostage and start trying to free him, when Carly runs into Irina.
Jacks admits having sex with her, Carly shoots off her mouth, making the situation worse, as usual, when Jerry comes in.
He tries to turn the tables, telling Irina that he will kill Carly in a New York minute to get a share of Jack's bank account for him and her. He even pulls a gun on Carly--and we will have to wait till Monday to see how this one turns out!
