General Hospital Update for Friday, 15-Jun-2007

Happy Friday--and an early Father's Day! And it was a perfect day to launch a hot new Summer story: who kidnapped baby Jake Spencer?
We start off in the park, where Liz has taken the kids for an early Summer outing, when tragedy strikes in the blink of an eye: when Liz has her back turned tying Cameron's shoes, someone takes Jake out of his stroller!
All of the big guns at the PCPD are soon on the case. Mac is getting ready to put out an Amber Alert, Cruz is investigating possible leads and Coop's trying to calm down Spinelli--who has gone to the jail to try and give Jason the bad news.
Em and Nicholas go to the PCPD to offer their help, and tell Mac that since they recently went through it with Spencer, they would be invaluable. And having more money than you could possibly spend also doesn't hurt either!
Suspicion is immediately cast on Amelia and Sam, who are both unusually late to work on the Everyday Heroes set.
When Cruz gets there to question Sam, she gives him some lame story about strolling through the park to get a smoothie, realizing she was late and then making a dash for it.
Amelia's also late and really doesn't have an alibi, but turns the screws on Sam after Cruz leaves--reminding her of how she said out loud that she wished that Jake would disappear. So maybe this is the start of Amelia's revenge fantasy against Sam? Could be...
And finally, Liz hasn't even been ruled out as a suspect, as she has to give a statement to Lainey at the PCPD. This is because Lainey says that women who've just had babies can have post partum depression, and oh, the rest is just too disusting to think about!!!!!!!! Poor Liz!!!!
The only other thing that happened today was a barbeque at Chez Corinthos for Sonny, the kids, Carly and Jacks--which was crashed by Kate and her boss, Warren James. The expression on Carly's face was priceless, to say the least.
After being introduced to James, Carly starts off putting her foot in her mouth by saying "So, do you hate kids as much as Kate does??" Sometimes the woman just doesn't think!! But I do think the relationship between Sonny and Kate is going to get interesting this Summer.
