General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 8-May-2007

A conflicting day of high emotions on General Hospital makes a person think, and I like to think. First, there are complications from Elizabeth's C section. She must be bleeding profusely sooooo. The doc tells Lucky that if the bleeding cannot be stopped, she may have to have a hysterectomy.This operation,of course, would end Liz's being able to have another child.One surmises that some kind of emergency surgery such as a DNC has been done to correct the problem. Both Lucky and Jason are very anxious and troubled . Spinelli is sent by LuLu to tell Jason not to come forth with the truth: "That he is Baby Spencer's real dad".However, Spinelli tells his hero to claim his son. Jason is truly confused about what to do when he sees Lucky rocking his son in the nursery.For a minute, Jason steps back to rethink the situation. He wants so badly to hold his baby boy again so Spinelli creates some creative story so Jason can do so. AN Aside: Is it better to tell Lucky upfront the truth or continue to live THE LIE as Alexis did? Jason wants to do what is best for his innocent son? Will he?It's a rather complex situation,isn't it? Someone will get hurt ,but...
Carly and Jax return from Fiji. Lady Jane hides Jerry ( Craig) when an unexpected Carly appears. He sneaks back to Nicholas's home to spew his ugliness again. NIc has just returned from the hospital with Emily. Craig tells Nic that he must take Emily with him to complete his plan for this new identity. Of course, Nicholas is upset.
The cute, sophisticated lady who stops by Sonny's coffee shoppe to use his phone during a bad rainstorm is really "an old love" of his named Connie. She is super well-known now as Kate Howard, a fashion Magazine's editor or whatever. No longer is she the lovesick teen who was going to climb out of her bedroom window to meet the older,charismatic Sonny. One thinks they were in love,and she was just about ready to run away from home to marry him.Common sense and a desire for a better life stopped her hastiness. He asks her why she is ashamed to use her real name.With a sneer, she opens up to discuss her new persona ,and why she chose a different name, a new life, etc..Then in a regal, pretentious style she runs into Carly as she leaves. Carly says: "Was that really Kate Howard?" Sonny is not too impressed with all of this fanfare and" to do" which gives this otherwise demure GH some comedy.:-)Kate does seem to be overly impressed with herself sooo. Why did she really stop by Sonny's?
A disconcerting time, to me, is when Lucky and others are jumping to the dire conclusion that Liz will die.I guess we as devotees of GH must tune in tomorrow to answer some of these perplexing questions.
