General Hospital Update for Friday, 17-Sep-2004

It's a hot steamy September day in Port Charles. Things are heating up on General Hospital. First, Carly is suffering a panic attack since her run- in with Durant on the pier. Durant, who could be her long-lost daddy, tells her that he has fun catching gangsters. He is the infamous prosecutor from Manhattan who is after Sonny. He tells handsome, young Dr. Webber, Heather's son, to find out more about Carly. Durant says: " If CArly is my daughter,I will use her. I will nail Sonny Corinthos to a prison wall." His being in PC shakes up Carly a lot. This reviewer is wondering if the cool Sonny has determined that Durant and not a garbage collector is Carly's biological father. Speaking of prison, Sonny strong arms Faith into accepting a plea bargain so off to prison she goes. Guess who is her cellmate???? None other than Skye is alarmed to see Faith in " her part of the world." Skye is back so there should be some comedic twists between her and Faith. HA Meanwhile, evil,conniving Tracy and Helena have a plan to stop Nikolas from marrying Emily. Very convincingly, they pay a woman, a pretend -nurse, to witness that she saw EM alone in MAry's hospital room. Surely, Mac and Ric will be able to see through this absurdity. Ric shows the " witness" photos ,and she points to sweet, innocent Emily. Oh No!NIK tells her not to sweat it.He will defend his EM to the end.While a desperate Carly paces the pier on the waterfront, she drops her purse, trips and falls, etc. One DR. Webber comes to her rescue. He appears to like Carly and admits to Durant that she is a great pool player. He does not take the word of the bar owner not" to play with fire." He says :" You had better get' the stay Far from Carly message'."
As Sonny converses with Jason about Carly's nervousness, an attorney brings papers. Sonny has drawn up a legal document designating himself as the rightful father and provider for his and Sam's little girl-to-come.HE wants Jason to do his dirty work to get Sam to sign. Sam tells Jason that she will not give Sonny the control. ALL know that Sonny is a control freak. Right?
Ric has ,in a sense, told Durant that he will help to bring Sonny down. However, RIc tells Alexis that he would be concerned for Sonny's children. This viewer thinks that Ric has a hate/love relationship with his brother. Tune in on Monday to capture the full story of this tintillating drama.
