General Hospital Update for Thursday, 24-Jun-2004

COURTHOUSE:
Skye's murder trial starts with Ric telling the jury that he will prove that Skye not only killed a police detective, but then also tried to frame an innocent woman (Laura) for it. Ric’s first witness; Jax; whose attempts to protect Skye only make things worse for her when Ric finally gets him to admit (on the stand) that Skye told him she ‘might have killed’ Ross Duncan. Ric and Alexis' snide personal remarks earn them a stern talking to by the judge who gives them a break and advises them to “work out their personal issue” or face contempt of court charges. Out in the hallway Courtney works hard to convince a social worker that her foundation is legit despite her connection to the Corrinthos Empire. Jax exists the courtroom and Courtney tries to introduce him to the social worker as her squeaky-clean board member. A great plan right? Too bad it backfires when Jax rudely blows them both off. In the face of Tracy’s obvious glee, Edward orders her to lie through her teeth to help clear Skye's name. But as expected by everyone who knows and hates her, Tracy takes the witness stand and happily digs Skye in even deeper by confirming that she saw Skye and Luke with ‘the body’ both the night of the murder and later at the Q’s basement freezer. She even provides pictures (same ones she tried to use to blackmail Jax).
L&B:
Lois tries to appear curious regarding Ned determination to support Skye, but mostly just comes off as jealous. She also reminds Ned that their renewed partnership must be strictly business, to which Ned agrees but lets her know he won’t object if she were to change her mind. Shortly after meeting Alcazar, Lois lets him know she isn’t sure if Sage has got what it takes to make it as a pop star. After comparing him to Sonny she, pretty much tells him where he can put his “investment” dollars. Later, Lois meets with Jax and hints that L&B needs a new investor.
PENTHOUSE:
Carly barges in on Jason and asks for a favor. She pretty much demands that Jason take Sam far from PC before her psycho-ex strikes again. When Jason refuses point blank, Carly pulls the “I’m just trying to keep my family/children safe” card and Jason backs down-sort of-by agreeing to take Sam away IF he can’t resolve the issue soon.
DOCKS:
Faith gives Nicco hell for failing to kill Sonny and Jason. She pretty much ignores Nicco’s “I just want Sam” spiel. But wait she has a new plan; she wants Nicco to help her set Sonny up for murder. Her’s and Alcazar’s. When the still arguing pair of legal eagles make it to the pier she quickly stages an assassination attempt on herself (with help from crack shot Nicco) right in front of Ric and Alexis. She milks the opportunity for all it’s worth, blames Sonny and demands that the D.A. do something about the attempt on her life. Ric tells her he’ll have the PCPD “check into the incident”.
PARK:
Courtney chases after Jax and starts in on him for quite possibly ruining their chances of establishing a good contact for the foundation. Jax apologizes and fills her on the fiasco of his attempt to help Skye. He gives her the facts on his failed relationship with his ex-wife and blames himself for leaving her vulnerable to Luke. Courtney assures him that he is not to blame for Skye’s current dilemma. “We love who we love and we pay the consequences. All we can really ask for is honesty”. (Nice theory, but too bad she didn’t take her own advice before she broke Jason’s heart – he was NOTHING but honest with her-from the beginning.)
COURTHOUSE:
Alexis calls her first witness; Skye; yet all we see is Ric questioning her. Skye admits that although it went against her instinct, she agreed with Luke to hide the body until they could find who really killed him. Ric badgers her into admitting that she did it all because she loves(loved) Luke.
GH:
Sonny awakens to find Sam sitting on the edge of his hospital bed. She assures him that the baby is safe. Despite Sonny telling her that she doesn’t have to explain, Sam feels the need to tell him how she got involved with Nicco in the first place. “I was young, stupid and in love for the first time. I didn’t realize what he was really like until it was too late.” Sam also tells Sonny the only time she’s been truly happy in her life was during their time together. Sonny lets her know that he doesn’t regret what happened with her. She assures him that she understands why they can’t be together; he’s committed to his family and she can respect that blah, blah, blah. Jason arrives and breaks up the cozy chat by giving Sonny some details over the kidnapping and rescue. Sonny is initially upset that Jason would shoot over Sam to get Nicco, but ends up thanking him for keeping her and the baby safe. Elsewhere in the hospital Carly and Michael arrive to take Sonny home. Bobbie and their repeated conversation about Carly’s decision to return to Sonny distract Carly. They fail to notice that Michael has scampered away. Not realizing that Michael is hiding his room, Sonny doesn’t put a halt to Faith’s tirade when she bursts in to his hospital room with accusations that he tried to have her killed. Sonny doesn’t buy her act for a minute and accuses her of setting the ‘hit’ up herself to frame him or Alcazar. Faith doesn’t back down but reminds Sonny that Alcazar hates him and wants him out of the way. Either dead, or in jail by framing Sonny for her murder. Carly bursts in to report the missing Michael, who crawls out from behind the chair and they realize that he has heard everything Faith said. Once Faith is gone they assure him that Faith “is a bad person and everything she said was a lie meant to cause trouble”. After Michael promises (for the 100th time) not to run away anymore they proceed to checkout. Alcazar exits from the elevator just as they approach. Michael confronts him and demands that Lorenzo stop trying to kill his father.
PENTHOUSE:
Jason brings Sam back to the penthouse. She can tell he is upset and claims they have to least be honest with each other. Jason reminds her of why they are claiming the baby is his and tells her it would all have been for not if Carly had found her in Sonny’s room. Sam apologizes but claims something good came out of the whole incident. She is now happy that she is PG and is actually looking forward to being a mother. Jason is glad to hear that and asks her to PLEASE just stay off her feet and in the house until Nicco is dealt with. They are about get into another discussion/argument when (speak of the devil) who should call but Nicco. He demands that Sam met him at the docks immediately, or he will reveal her ‘secret’. By her reactions Jason figures out who the caller is and demands to know “EVERYTHING” Nicco said…
