General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 23-Jun-2004

Please bear with me this is the first recap I’ve done in about 18 mos. It might take me a while to get back into the flow.

First off let’s recap what else has happened this week-
As Lois and Brooke-Lynn continue to butt heads, Ned tries to offer a solution by suggesting that Brooke come live with him for a while. When this idea doesn't fly, the ever present and helpful Georgie offers her home to Brooke and it appears that (without ever consulting Mac, Felicia or Maxi) everyone agrees. Ned convinces Lois to stay on in PC and work with him at L&B (to make it back into what it was). Meanwhile, Brooke talks Dillon and Georgie into destroying what she thinks are the only copies of her demo (to keep her Mom from releasing it or using it against her).
Jason manages to fight off the man who attacked Sonny and tried to impersonate him to Sister Agnes. While giving a description to Sonny (who is on his way back from Costa Rica, badly wounded and weak) Sam realizes she knows who the person is. After she tells Jason that the tattoo he described matches one her former boyfriend, Nicco, has and explaining that he is in jail (she testified against him on carjacking charges several years ago) Jason realizes that the man is after Sam too and hurriedly arranges to check her out of the hospital and take her back to the penthouse.
Carly gets Sonny back to PC and barely makes it to GH before Sonny collapses (in front of Jason and Sam who are just checking out). Sonny is admitted; Jason does some checking, returns to GH and reports to Sonny all about Nicco. Jason explains Nicco was paroled 3 mos ago and the only contact with Sam was through letters asking her to ‘wait for him’. Sonny isn’t sure that Nicco is working alone and asks Jason to check in to it. Turns out Sonny is right, because later we see Nicco taking money from Faith and making plans on "how to take care of Morgan". Meanwhile, Carly (who as usual was eavesdropping on Sonny and Jason) rushes back to the penthouse and orders Sam to get out of town-AGAIN. Sam ignores Jason orders to keep out of it and finds a way to contact Nicco. They arrange to meet at Kelly’s. Sam promptly calls Jason and reports this. Jason tells Sam to stay put and he will take care of meeting Nicco. Sam ignores Jason’s instruction and tries to sneak out, only to get grabbed by Nicco as she waits for the elevator.
Nicholas/Connor is regretful and guilt filled as he sits by Mary’s hospital bed and listens to her pathetic whining about how awful her life would be without him. When Mary falls asleep again, he goes back to Spoon Island and tells Emily that it was all a big mistake and it won’t happen again because he is committed to his marriage. Emily tells him she loves him and tries to explain to him what is really going on. Nicholas/Connor refuses to listen and rushes back to Mary. Later Emily tells Lucky that she has finally accepted that Nik is no longer a part of her life.

TODAY (Wednesday 6/23)-
BISHOP HOME: Connor convinces Mary to quit her job at GH saying they don’t need the money (he makes enough) and they need to spend more time together. He asks her to spend the day with him at the park.

KELLY’S: Brooke and Georgie bond over parent and guy problems and Brooke assures George that she is lucky to have such a great guy. Brooke tells Georgie that she is worried about Dillon working with Lois because her Mom has a way of making everyone do what she wants, in this case using Dillon to convince her to sing. Jason shows up for the meeting with Nicco but runs into Courtney on the way in. After warning Courtney to stay away for the time being, asking her to be careful, but not giving her any details, Jason tries to call Sam. When he doesn’t get an answer he rushes off. Courtney’s phone rings and as she tries to answer it Jax takes it from and invites her to ignore the phone, Carly, Jason and everything else to accompany him to dinner in the park. Courtney refuses, Jax warns her not fall back into old habits and tells her he’ll be waiting when she comes to her senses-but not forever.

L&B STUDIO: Lois shows up and makes Dillon fear for his job when she gives him the “I’m the new top dog and you will do as I say, when I say, because I say, if you want to keep your job” speech. Ned's arrival eases the situation and Dillon departs job intact-though he did tell Lois to “consider his tush at her disposal” (her words, not his). Brooke-Lynn arrives shortly after and asks for permission to accompany Georgie and Dillon to NYC for the day. Lois refuses, reminding Brooke she is grounded for running away. To everyone’s surprised Ned backs Lois (although later he admits to wanting to give in to make up for all the times he wasn’t there). Brooke stomps off, Ned and Lois reminisce about the old L&B days. Ned suggests a meeting between Lois and their ‘investor’-Alcazar. Ned has a copy of Brooke’s demo, plays it and asks Lois to dance. Apparently he makes a move (which I didn’t see/notice) because he suddenly doubles over in pain from a blow to the midsection (although it could have been a nail stabbing). Lois jumps all over him for using such a corny move and warns him that it’s either all business between them or she’s outta here. Still gasping for breath, Ned readily agrees-all business.

GH: Lucky “kidnaps” Emily and drags her off for a day of ‘cloud watching’. Sonny and Carly come close to admitting their real feeling for each other when they both agree that Sonny’s close call has made them put their anger with each other aside (possibly for good?). Sonny admits to Carly that she is “home” for him. Bobbie brings Michael to visit Sonny and we get to hear the whole “you have to be more careful, you can’t just go running off” lecture again, only this time in reverse; Michael to Sonny. Sonny promises his son that he will try to do better and assures him that he is not leaving his family anytime soon. Meanwhile Bobbie lets Carly know that she does not completely agree with her most recent decision to let Sonny back into her life. Carly assures her mother that although she does still love Sonny, this time will be different because she is determined not to center her life around him completely. (easier said than done in my opinion-you can only resist the dimples for so long).

PARK: While strolling through the park Mary and Connor spot Emily and Lucky. Conner tries to avoid them but Mary insists she has to speak with Emily. Connor makes himself scarce, while Mary approaches Emily. Sensing they want to be alone Lucky excuses him self. Once alone Mary tells Emily she is quitting GH. Emily tries to be understanding, but mostly sounds hostile (at least to me she did) as she asks Mary about her long term plans (i.e.-is she leaving town?). Emily tells Mary that she has resigned her self to life without Nik and Mary assures her she will find love again. Later, Mary finds Connor acting aggressively toward a drinking fountain. From his questions/comments about Lucky and Emily’s apparent closeness it appears (at least to me) that Connor/Nik is a bit jealous. Meanwhile, Emily’s and Lucky’s afternoon turns awkward when Lucky kisses Emily and she hastily pulls away. Although she assures Lucky that she is no longer waiting for Nik to return to her, she has reservation about a romantic relationship with him. First off, she is not ready for a new love yet and secondly she would hate to spoil such a great friendship. Lucky manages to lighten the mood and they continue to laugh and have fun by ‘rating’ his kisses. Later, Lucky asks Mike what night Kelly’s can close early (ownership does have it priledges) so he can cook dinner for Em, just like almost old times. Lucky admits to Mike that he is starting to have more than friendly feeling for Emily.

HARBORVIEW TOWERS: Nicco has Sam and jumps back and forth between telling her how happy he is that she didn’t serve time (it would have made her hard and ugly) and how upset he is that she didn’t ‘wait for him’. But he really upsets her when he tells her he is going to have to kill both of the men she is involved with (would that be Sonny and Jason or Jax?). When he pushes her up against the wall Sam asks him NOT to get physical. This makes Nicco take a closer look and realize she is PG. Needless to say he is not happy. Just stupid. He takes Sam out the front door of the building. Sam isn’t any smarter as they walk right past the doorman and she doesn’t even try to get help. Luckily for her Jason arrives as she and Nicco are still just outside the building. Jason demands Nicco release Sam or die. Nicco pulls his gun on Sam and declares that he doesn’t mind dying, but that he’ll Sam with him. Jason shoots and hits Nicco in the shoulder/arm. Nicco throws Sam to the ground and runs. Jason runs after Nicco and fires a few more shots but gives up and returns to help Sam. Sam is scared for the baby and they rush to the hospital.

GH: As they are rushed in neither Jason or Sam notice Courtney waiting at the counter for Carly. Dr. Meadow examines Sam and declares everything hunky-dory but warns Sam to stay out of trouble or it won’t stay that way. She goes as far as to say that if Jason is dangerous, Sam should stay far away from him IF she wants the baby to live long enough to be born. Later, Emily visits Sonny and assuming he knows about Sam’s latest crisis, reports that everything is OK with Sam and the baby. Sonny (who had no clue about the incident with Nicco) hot wheel-chairs it to Sam’s room just in time to hear Sam profusely thanking Jason for taking such good care of her and the baby (and judging by the look on his face, it bothers him!)

PARK: Courtney leaves the hopital without talking to Carly and walks through the park. Who should she happen to run it to? You guessed it-
JAX (not to mention a romantic candlelight dinner all set up in the gazebo). Courtney tells Jax about Sam and Jason's latest visit to GH and explains that she is happy NOT the be a part of it. Courtney tells Jax that for the first time since they started the bet she is actually happy to see him and spend time with him. Jax tells her that he thinks he is starting to really fall for her (GAG!!).
