General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 4-May-2004

Emily thinks she saw Nikolas at the Pier. Mary tries to calm a panicky Emily, who explains away the sighting as wishful thinking and Mary comforts her. They share their grief over lost loves – a grief that Mary could fix for Emily any time. Emily keeps hoping for a miracle – she recalls thinking the worst after the hotel fire and Nik’s reappearance. Think NL is tired of crying?
Mary comes home to “Connor” who has cheese with his whine…I mean wine. He got it in town, and took a walk on the waterfront. He has a question: He tells Mary that he has fallen in love with her “all over again” and wants to renew their vows. Mary says she can’t, that he has the wrong motives: guilt, obligation, not love. Connor proclaims his love and says he understands her fear of losing him because now he feels the same. She finally agrees to marry him.

Lucky is knocking on Skye’s door as Luke and Skye find Det. Donut sitting on the couch. The PCPD got a tip that the corpse was there. Luke’s plan to scare Lucky away – he’s getting lucky with Skye in the living room, forcing Skye to slip under a sheet with the dead body (good thing its her husband, he’s been on more as a corpse than he was alive.) It works – but they know the cops will be back with a warrant. In the meantime, they stash Ross in the crawl space. Luke and Skye rehash suspects as someone watches from the window and Luke comments that our killer is “a few beans short of a refried sandwich.” They believe the motive must be revenge, but they can’t figure out who would have such a motive. Not Tracy or Faith or Edward and the people of her past soap,,, I mean life in Pine Valley don’t seem likely either. Luke checks out a noise outside and finds nothing. He then offers to spend the night. Skye is touched. Lucky shows to inform his dad that mommy dearest is missing from the funny farm. Later we see a mystery lady with longish blonde hair slicing Skye’s face up on a newspaper’s front page with a knife.

Carly and Courtney are talking about Lorenzo. Did he plan the shoot out to win points with Carly and play hero? Court’s not sure, but she doesn’t want to owe him her life. Lorenzo listens in for a while. Courtney reiterates her hatred for the drug lord, lost marriage, lost baby. Carly says he’s out of her life. She is going to focus on her sons and make them happy and that means living with Sonny. Courtney wonders if she will run back to Alcazar the minute Sonny gets Carly angry…which will probably be the first day. She hope that her brother and best friend can work their differences out, given time together, and give Sam the boot. Carly agrees that she will hate each time Sonny leaves to be with Sam. They temporarily solve their woeful lives with mochachino. Courtney calls Sonny and Carly’s breakup a “misunderstanding.” Sonny misunderstood one kiss to mean a full out affair and reacted by starting one of his one within the hour. Yeah, makes sense to me! Carly tells Court she’s proud of her new foundation to help underprivileged youth – fix em before they turn into Sonny I think is the idea. Court then leaves. Lorenzo shows to bash Sonny and the idea of a living arrangement for the boys. He makes good points about the lie Carly is choosing as her life. He has no regrets about the past, does she? They argue, she says its over, he says he loves her, but he won’t wait around if she changes her mind.

Sam tries to convince Jason to keep Sonny in the dark about the baby when Sonny walks in. Luckily for Sam he didn’t hear anything. Sam explains Jason’s presence away, and Jason keeps his mouth shut (a big shocker). Sam then promptly passes out in Sonny’s arms. Now I’ve never been pregnant, but I don’t know too many women who pass out twice in one day without going to the hospital, and besides she’s 10 weeks along. This only started happening now? Anyway, she comes to on the bed with Sonny and Jason is gone. She excuses her fainting as a lack of food and emotional stress and claims she called Jason to yell at him because she felt insecure and didn’t want to yell at Sonny. (and this is evidently okay with Sonny.) She says Jason must really hate her, because she knows she hates herself. (Join the club!) Sam tries to break it off because too many people are getting hurt. Sonny talks her out of it. He asks that she be honest with him (Too late). And warn him if she is gonna bolt, don’t just leave a letter or something (bet that won’t happen either.) Sonny’s gotta go be with Michael. Sam goes on about how good a dad he is (riiiiight) As he heads for the door, she tries one last time to tell him she's pregnant but ends up chickening out and complimenting him instead , like he really needs that. He’s already the center of a whole television show, what more does he need! Sonny leaves and Sam tells the door she loves it.
Sonny finds Jason at the hospital and informs him of the shootout at Court’s office and the RICO laws that could tie Courtney and by extenson Sonny into any illegal activities Alcazar may have at the piers. Jason says he’ll handle it. Sonny asks for the real reason Jason was at Sam’s. Jason tries to tell him, but can’t get a word in edgewise. Carly enters and promises to make this living arrangement work for her children.
