Nikolas breaks off his kiss with Mary, explaining that he can't do this since his thoughts and feelings are still completely disconnected. He apologizes over and over and tries to understand that this must be difficult for her and he doesn't want to hurt her. She is understanding and they agree to take their time.

Helena approaches Emily while she is in the chapel praying for Nikolas' safety. Helena "congratulates" her for getting two loves killed in one day, but then threatens her that she'd go after everyone that Emily ever loved and afterwards kill Emily if Nikolas should really turn up dead. Emily returns the threats by warning Helena that people she loves include Jason who might easily take out Helena instead. They keep butting heads for a while.

At the police station: After Skye blurted out how jealous she is of Luke yesterday, Luke now seems pretty happy to hear such news... He tells her that he likes the thought, but she tells him that now he's gonna run once it sinks in that she has feelings for him which he won't be able to handle. She wants to leave, but he asks to hear her out, too. He warns her that it's true that he can't "do domestic", he's tried it before. He admits that he can to caring, and he does care about her, just he's convinced in the very end everyone ends up being on his own, and something unforseeable blows up everything you were hoping for... She accuses him of being a coward and rushes off.

Still at the police station, Ric denies Faith's accusation of coming after her just to get on Sonny's good side again. She keeps insisting that he hasn't changed, just manages to hide it better. Liz comes in right at that moment and seems a bit on edge apparently because of that remark. She asks Ric to talk when he's done with Faith and leaves, then Justus enters with the release papers for Faith. Ric is frustrated to have to sign her out, then leaves. Faith thanks Justus for his miracle work and asks, as a last favor, to take care of Luke's release as well. (Nasty look through the window at Luke and Skye while she's saying it.) Meanwhile, Ric catches up with Liz and asks her if Faiths comments about him and Sonny upset her, but she seems fine and they both agree that the past is fully settled.

Carly is at the hospital, talking to Sam. Carly is "prophetically" guessing what Sonny gave Sam at the island, and how much she must have loved it and completely have fallen for it. Sam replies any woman would be a fool not to love it, when Sonny shows up and tells Sam to stay away from Carly. Carly goes to see Morgan (not without giving off another verbal kick in Sam's direction, of course). Sam explains to Sonny that she just wanted to let Carly know that it was her (Sam's) fault that they were at the island, but Sonny tells to Sam that the situation with Carly is so complicated that she should better stay out of it. Jason shows up, and Sonny asks him to take Sam to the penthouse, even when she insists of returning to her boat instead.

As Faith asked him to, Justus gets Luke released on bail as well. Luke picks up on the connection between Faith and Justus and mocks her for it, then they have a brief banter about Skye, and Luke tells Faith to stay out of it and let him worry about Skye as he pleases. In the meantime, Skye arrives at the "Haunted Star", finding Dillon asleep there: he's hiding from his mother and grandfather, who keep hounding him for his vote for CEO. Skye starts mouthing off about how all men are the same, while Dillon slowly figures out that she is annoyed with Luke, for wanting to run away from the commitment. Dillon suspects that it may be rather Skye herself who is running away. Later in the conversation, she lets show that she's mostly jealous at Faith. When he asks her about the jealousy point blank, she gives off a hilarious rant, denying that Faith is a problem and that Luke is of any importance at all. In her rage, she fails to see any of Dillon's desperate guestures trying to warn her that Luke and Faith have entered the room and are listening to all this... :)

At the police station, Liz, Ric, and Lucky are discussing that there are no news about Nikolas. Emily enters and hears the update, and when Edward shows up there as well, she rips into him that she doesn't have the nerves for another fight. But he just declares that he's going to support her this time in the search for Nikolas. Finally they hear that Nikolas' coat has been found by the river, and a helicopter pilot has spotted something drifting in the river, but couldn't identify what it was. Emily takes off to go on the helicopter to find out. - Later she returns with the finding that what the pilot saw was just some camping equipment, not a body, though.

At the cottage, Lt. Ross talks to Mary and asks her if she knows anything about the guy who disappeared in the accident, which she denies of course. Nikolas overhears it, but is still in the bedroom and doesn't come out until Ross has left again. He then wants to help with the search and is very insistent on it. But she stops him, being equally insistent that he would be arrested as a deserter the moment the police sees him. Later, they have to decide where they are going to sleep, and she offers to stay on the couch. Nikolas first insists on taking the couch himself and leave the bed to her, but then changes his mind that they have to get used to sleeping in the same bed ("in a sleeping sense only"!) again, so they go to bed. Mary gives him a quick and shy good night kiss, and Nik turns away.

Sonny enters Morgan's room in the hospital, where Carly is putting him to sleep. He tells her that he wants to go over to see Michael, but Carly tells him "no", following Lorenzo's advice from yesterday. When he is surprised, she explains that she doesn't like him with them as long he's with Sam, since Sam has been proven at court to be a con artist, and she doesn't want her anywhere near her kids. Sonny tells her that now she sees how he
feels about Lorenzo, someone HE despises, near his kids. Then he leaves saying that he'll be back after visiting Michael, simply ignoring her request.

On the way to the penthouse, in the limo, Sam explains to Jason why she confronted Carly, and admits that it probably was a bad idea, which Jason fully agrees on. She then asks him about Sonny and Carly, if he thinks they are over or not etc. He, looking a bit annoyed and bothered to have to talk, tells her that they fight a lot, but doesn't know if they are over or not. Sam says she thinks she does know. - Later, at the penthouse, Sam tells Jason that everything is fine, implying that he can leave, but he doesn't budge, since Sonny had ordered him to watch her. She figures that out, too, and explains that she understands the situation, but everything is fine and if he ever does anything else but follow Sonny's orders and yadayadayada, and he looks completely uninterested in any conversation and almost bothered again. An obvious remake of "Brazen", she is yapping and yapping about things he couldn't care less about, and he looks annoyed that he does not know where the "off" button is... Finally he tells her to go to sleep, which she doesn't take very well: She doesn't like being ordered around by him, Sonny at least would have said it in a polite way...

At the "Haunted Star", Faith and Luke discuss their money laundering, ignoring Skye and Dillon more or less. When Luke suggests that it would be better now for Faith to use Kelly's as a front, since the police are watching the casino, Dillon tries to take off saying that they are talking a bit too much "illegal stuff" for his ears. Skye makes him stay to witness when she tells Luke: It's true, it's illegal, and how he could drag Bobbie into this. When he dryly reminds her that Bobbie has been involved in illegal stuff all her life, after all, she's his sister, Skye's had enough. She scribbles her resignation on the nearest piece of cardboard and hands it to Luke. But while Faith mouths off in triumph telling Skye what a wimp she is, Luke tears up the cardboard and tells Faith that she's out instead. Faith spits out threats and leaves in a huff, leaving Skye and Luke to discuss their relation in front of Dillon. (Dillon tries to leave again, but they ask him to stay as a witness once more. Poor guy...) Skye explains to Luke that she may not need "domestic", but some security, but he'd always look for more thrill and wants to run. Like Dillon earlier, Luke thinks it is rather her who is running, which Dillon points out in triumph that he said that too. Naturally, the others don't really care for his wisecracking, and Skye leaves in a huff. Dillon offers Luke some more advice, which earns him a very resolute "OUT!!!" from Luke that makes him almost jump overboard head first. Luke is left alone, looking pretty concerned. - Later, Luke catches up to Skye on the docks, and tells her that he doesn't want to run, but wants to give it a chance. Of course she wouldn't say no to that, and they end up in a long, warm kiss...
