General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 23-Mar-2004

Alcazar's hired hitman demands his half a million. He threatens to tell Carly everything if he doesn't get paid. Alcazar manages to get him to leave just in time for Carly not to see him.

Elizabeth runs to her hubby and Lucky to tell them that Zander is alive and with Emily in the cottage, possibly holding her against her will.

Sam overhears Sonny tell Jason he does not plan on committing to her anytime soon and is heartbroken. She later admits to Jason that she "might" be falling in love with Sonny.

Emily takes off her top and tells Zander he can take her body but her heart will always belong to Nikolas. Zander realizes what he is putting Emily through and apologizes. She accepts. He reassures her that he has not harmed Nikolas.

Ric, Lucky, and a SWAT team surround the cottage and Lucky orders Zander to surrender. Emily convinces him it is the best thing to do and they walk out hand in hand. Zander realizes he has nothing to live for, tells Emily he loves her, and shoves her across the porch. He pretends to pull out a gun, basically committing suicide. The PCPD & SWAT team shoot at him repeatedly and he dies in Emily's arms. Emily, hysterically lashes out at Ric and Lucky.

Jason pays Carly a visit. She reveals how having her kids is not enough and that she misses Sonny and how things used to be.

Courtney, in an attempt to deliver the custody papers to her brother, walks in the living room to see Sam lying on the floor with nothing but a blanket around her and Sonny zippering his pants. She tells Sonny to reconsider signing over his parental rights and clues him in on the fact that Carly was going to break up with Alcazar and guilt and pity are the only reason she hasn't. She also makes it clear she is tired of being his "messenger". Sonny goes to Carly's house to deliver the papers and sees her kissing Alcazar through the window.

As Nikolas was returning to Port Charles, he hears of the alarming news that his fiance is being held hostage by the very much alive Zander.
Alarmed by the news, he speeds to her rescue and trying to reach for the engagement ring he bought, he loses control of his car and gets into a pretty serious accident.
