EMILY, NIKOLAS & ZANDER:
The show starts with Nikolas and Emily at the end of their “wedding,” in their beautiful “church,” which I think only had about five pews. They spend some time discussing how happy they are to be “married” to each other (personally, I didn’t even bother with their previous wedding scenes), until they are startled by a noise from outside, caused by Zander watching them from the window. He hides behind a tree as Nikolas and Emily go outside to check on the noise. Satisfied there is nothing going on, Nikolas and Emily decide to leave the church—Nikolas has to go do some banking business with the treasure money, and Emily goes off to tell her family about the Quartermaine’s share of the money. After they leave, Zander goes in the church and finds Emily’s scarf, which he wraps around his hands in a “menacing” fashion. Zander then leaves and goes to I am assuming his friend Wally’s apartment. He is getting ready to take some money, when Wally’s sister arrives and the apartment with Lucky. Zander then hides on the balcony. He sure is good at hiding….The sister is concerned that Wally, who worked at the Hotel, died in the fire, because she hasn’t heard from him since the fire. Lucky doesn’t think that he is dead, because all the bodies are accounted for, and the apartment looks like it has been lived in recently, with Zander’s fresh milk and a new pot of coffee. However, Lucky does agree to file a missing person’s report. After Lucky and the sister leaves, Zander goes back to his old place that he and Emily shared, and has some flashback memories of him and Emily as newlyweds in the house.

THE QUARTERMAINES:
Tracy calls an ELQ board meeting at the Quartermaine house, and Skye, Monica, Alan and Ned show up. The purpose of her meeting is to vote her as the new CEO of ELQ. Skye and Monica and Alan hear her plan of becoming CEO and give good fake rich people laugh. Skye is upset with Tracy, for she feels that Edward should continue to be the CEO. At this time, Edward is still at Shadybrook, but not for long. Luke shows up and impersonates a famous doctor to help Edward escape. When another doctor comes and talks to Luke about his methods, Luke is tricked into saying some medically wrong, but still (somehow, the show just seemed to breeze over Luke being caught…) Luke manages to get Edward out of Shadybrook. Back at the house, Emily shows up to discuss how Nikolas has decided to split the money from Helena selling the treasure ($25 million—half for a trust for the fire victims, the rest to be split between the Cassadines and the Quartermaines). Alan and Tracy are, of course, upset, because the original agreement was a 50/50 split, and Skye and Monica stand up for the deal. When Emily learns that Tracy wont let her grandfather out of Shadybrook, she refuses to give any money until he is released. This is the moment when Luke arrives with Edward. Once Emily sees her grandfather is okay, she leaves and the typical Quartermaine fighting ensues over who should be the CEO. Everyone votes, and there is a tie between Tracy and Edward. Due to some business loophole, it looks like Edward is then the deciding vote, until Tracy tells her surprise ploy. She has transferred AJ’s stock to Dillion, so Dillion is the deciding vote. Dillon then comes in clueless as to what is going on, eating a bag of potato chips. Tracy seemingly feigns love and interest, suprising Dillon with a hug, to which he looks wary. Before coming home, Dillon was talking with Sage about his suspicion that she told Tom to take Georgie to that play. Not much happened between them, Dillon said that he couldn’t be friends with her anymore, she slapped him, said she was sorry and asked for a second chance, at that is where they ended.

AND NOW, THE ALL-CONSUMING CUSTODY BATTLE:
In the broken down limo, Sonny and Carly talk about what the custody battle is doing to them and the kids (again) and Sonny asks why they are doing this (again). They both agree they never wanted to hurt each other, and they hate fighting. Carly tells Sonny she is sorry for telling Alexis about the breakdowns, but that was a last resort. More talking, Carly asks if they would be happier if they had never gotten back together, but then Sonny says they wouldn’t have had Morgan then. They then talk happily about Morgan. Carly says he is just like Sonny, and Sonny says he is very gratefully to Carly for his sons. An emotional and teary eyed Carly suggest that they just stop all of this. Back at the courthouse, Alexis overhears Jason and Max discussing Carly and Sonny being alone together and Alexis gets on a power trip. She demands Jason have Carly “returned,” as she might have been kidnapped. All this feigned interest in Carly’s safety is really just Alexis trying to make sure Carly doesn’t have the opportunity to tell Sonny he is Kristina’s father. Alcazar jumps in with his two cents about how he is concerned for Carly’s safety. Jason then tells Alexis she is afraid because he knows Carly has to have something on her and Alexis denies it and leaves. Alcazar then follows her, and says that he thinks Jason is right. Alexis gives her lame song and dance about Carly saving her life, and blah blah. She leaves, and it is obvious Alcazar didn’t believe her. One can only wonder how long it will be before the secret comes out. Back at the limo, Max interrupts Carly and Sonny’s possible moment at reconciliation (again, because I guess they can’t ever finish a conversation) and says they have to go to the courthouse right away; the judge needs to speak to them. At the courthouse, the judge meets with both of them. Carly and Sonny both basically tell the judge they can make joint custody work, and please don’t put the kids in foster care, which was the way the judge was leaning. While Carly is in her meeting, Sonny tells Alexis that maybe he will return the favor and do what she did to him--try to break her and take away what matters most from her. He asks how she would feel if someone tried to take away her child and that it could happen, with her record. And Alexis is visibly shaken. After that, Justus then proceeds to warn Alexis that her stunts in the courtroom have made her an enemy. While Sonny is in his meeting, Carly is talking with Alcazar and tells him she will do all she can to make joint custody work (oh, why cant they just get back together? Stop all this…). The episode ends with the judge just about to make his ruling.
