General Hospital Update for Friday, 20-Feb-2004

Not a whole lot of action today.

First we have Carly pitching a fit when Sam comes by (at Sonny's request) to say Sonny isn't bringing the boys to Carly as agreed upon. Lorenzo and Lucky both try to calm her down. "My husband's whore comes by to say he's taking my kids!"

Sam goes back to Sonny to warn him Carly is getting the police involved. Sonny lets Sam know he's trying to provoke Carly into acting out in public to make her appear to be an unfit mother.

Emily sees Nik arrive, covered in soot but alive. They cry, breathe heavily, kiss. Nik sits his sooty self down on that fancy Cassadine furniture and recounts his survival story in the Towering Inferno. Em cries some more. They speak of their endless love. Alexis shows up, she's happy Nik is alive and she doesn't have to process his will. She tells Nik Cameron is dead and Zander is missing, he didn't die in the hotel basement, which relieves Nik because he didn't kill Zander after all. Em guesses Zander is up in Canada by now. Alexis tells Nik to get his smelly dirty self off the nice furniture and take a shower.

A few scenes take place with Skye/Luke. She meets up with him on the dock, thinking they're headed to the Haunted Star to work, but he wants to go listen to blues music in a roadhouse and teases her for not being more spontaneous when she begs off the invite. It's not a date, Luke tells her when she brings up their most recent kiss in the hospital chapel. Enter Faith and a commercial break later Luke and Faith tease and flirt a bit, making Sky blaze. Faith tells the two of them they need to get back to the Haunted Star, she doesn't trust the staff Skye hired. Skye gets hotter, tells Faith to take her money laundering business elsewhere. Luke interrupts, he wants Faith to stay right where she is doing her business. Faith smiles sweetly and walks off. Skye is pissed and tells Luke to never kiss her again and marches off.

Courtney finds out Sonny is planning to take the boys out of the country and against Jason's advise, calls Carly to warn her. Courtney then goes by the old loft she used to share with Jason when she was stupid in love with him. She decides she's going to buy the place for herself since the lease is up on it.

Sam finds Jax at Kelly's and tells him she'll pay him back for the Lazarus. He thinks she doesn't want to owe him now that she's with Sonny. Sam thinks they should keep their distance because of Sonny. Jax warns Sam to not let her world revolve around Sonny; sooner or later he'll break her down.

At the airport, Sonny waits as Jason shows up with Michael who loudly complains he doesn't want to leave. The police show up. Carly shows up with Lorenzo and starts yelling. Jason stops her, pointing out Michael is there. Carly and Sonny start arguing and Lorenzo convinces her to stop and say good-bye to to Michael. She does and they leave. Sonny is ticked off, Lorenzo fouled up his plan to make Carly appear unstable.

Back at Carly's place she yells at Lorenzo for making her leave and he points out her usual antics play right into Sonny's hands. Attorney McNeal comes by and advises the court order giving Carly custody was rescinded. Attorney McNeal also advises Carly she needs a new attorney as Jason visited her today and told her if she keeps Carly as a client she'll pretty much lose all her other clients. Carly calls over Alexis. Alexis offers to help find a new attorney but Carly says Alexis will have to take over the case. Alexis will have to get her sole custody of the kids. If not, Carly will tell Sonny he's Christina's father.
Helena is relieved to see her grandson all clean and sitting at his desk at Windmere. She hugs him and he acknowledges that perhaps she's sincere in her joy and perhaps they should make an effort to be a family. Enter Em and she also agrees with Nik. Then Helena asks Em to save herself and Nik by breaking off the engagement. Cassadine men are bad when they love a woman. She points out what happened to Laura (ending up in a mental institution is now the Cassadine's fault- I thought it was because she killed her stepfather) when both Stavros and Stephan loved her and reasons that Alexis' mother would never have been murdered if she hadn't loved Mikkos- yikes- Helena- you killed Alexis' mother, Nik points out. Helena insists Alexis' mother died solely because she loved Mikkos. Em and Nik just stare at Helena in disbelief- -

Back at the penthouse, Sonny is sitting with Michael, explaining that he and Carly will divorce and not live together anymore. Michael asks if Sonny will marry Sam. Sonny tells Michael that will never happen. Knock on door. Enter Sam. She's a stupid mess- ,"I'm sorry, I thought your kids would be gone by now," she says to Sonny in front of Michael. Michael tells Sam she won't be coming around anymore and she "won't marry my dad." Sonny tries to make light of the remark and sends Michael to bed.

Alone, Sonny apologizes and admits Michael was repeating what Sonny told him. Sonny then apologizes for getting her involved with his family. "My association with you is separate from the rest of my life." Sonny whispers she shouldn't come back to his place again, it upsets Michael. In other words, "you're a ho and don't come around here no more."
Sam lashes out that perhaps they should just call it quits. Sonny agrees. Sam looks stunned.
