General Hospital Update for Monday, 16-Feb-2004

On Monday, we're still at Towering Inferno a la Port Charles.

The opening scene is the same as the closing scene on Friday, Sonny is holding a passed-out Carly, stroking her head, telling her he never loved or hated anyone as much as he loves and hates her. He begs her to wake up, in the rubble of the collapsed floor. She comes to, murmurs Sonny's name, then looks up to see Lorenzo and calls out to him. Sonny's face stings. The next scene with these three shows first Carly being boosted up, then Carly and Lorenzo pulling up Sonny from the collapsed floor. The three get out, Later, Sonny hotwires an elevator and they all escape the Towering Inferno.

Up on the roof, Capelli shows up, fighting for his seat on the helicopter. Em and Monica ask about Jason, Capelli says Jason got unruly and had to be handcuffed to a pipe in a stairwell. Capelli bullies his way onto the helicopter. Monica is outraged, Em is hysterical. Nik stays behind to get Jason, Em/Nick cry, kiss, say good-bye. Em gets into the helicopter, you see Em looking out the helicopter window while it reflects another explosion and Em bursts into tears.

Luke and Skye get out of the Inferno. Skye wants to go home and take a bubble bath. Luke talks about the treasure, which unbeknownst to them is lying in the dumpster right behind them.

Maxie & Georgie are at GH getting ready to see Mac who's in ICU for severe burns. Dillon comforts Georgie and offers to go with her to see Mac. Georgie goes into Mac's room alone, sweetly talks about their fun times in the past and hopes they can go camping this summer. She leaves before she starts to cry. Once outside Mac's room, she starts to cry and Dillon hugs her.

Courtney hysterically attacks Ric as she thinks Sonny and Carly are dead. She sees Capelli and asks about Jason. Capelli once again says Jason was combative and had to be left behind- handcuffed to a pipe!!-- "You left him in a burning building," she cries out- very well I might add- it's such a ridiculously hard to believe action- when when when will Capelli be busted and bumped off or sent to jail or something....

Nik finds Jason in the stairwell. Jason orders Nik to leave. Nik leaves but comes back after the commercial break with an ax. Now Jason looks concerned- really concerned, "You know how to use that thing?" he asks. Nik gives a true Cassadine reply, "Are you kidding, I'm a Cassadine, we don't do manual labor." Nik swings, Jason clenches his teeth. They both look, Nik says, "Oh good, I didn't cut your hand off." However, Nik does break a hole into the pipe- a gas pipe, they run down the stairs and escape a gas explosion.

Sam is upset because Jax tells her Sonny is dead. She doesn't want to believe it which makes Jax ask if she loves Sonny. Sam says she doesn't know, she just wished she had more time to spend with him to figure out how she feels. Jax has had it- he wishes her luck and leaves.

At GH- and it's so great to get scenes actually taking place at the hospital- Edward is brought in with a heart attack. Tracy talks to an unconscious Edward, tells him she loves him and always wanted him to be proud of her- suddenly Edward awakens and asks for Justice. You then see Justice and Edward together and Edward signing a document. Tracy is watching and convinced Edward signed off a new will leaving everything to Justice. Later, as Edward is wheeled to surgery, everyone learns Edward signed an admission of liability- taking full responsibility for the fire and claiming his family had no knowledge of the condition of the PC Hotel or its being a fire hazard.

A mystery man rifles through the garbage outside the inferno, comes across the treasure in the dumpster and carries it away.

As Sonny/Carly/Lorenzo exit the inferno, Mike and Courtney rush to Sonny & Carly as Lorenzo looks on- odd man out. Courtney tells Sonny about Caplets' handcuffing of Jason and he makes a threat to Ric. Sonny and Carly are later talking when Sam arrives and hugs Sonny- Carly looks on then goes to Lorenzo who wants to take her to GH, she wants to stay to find out about Jason.

Sonny & Sam talk- he's surprised to find out Jax saved her since he went by Jax penthouse and didn't see her- Sam skirts the issue.

Luke finds Bobbie at GH looking upset. Scott Baldwin is dead- his body was ID'ed. Luke doesn't believe it. Bobbie recalls her love for Scott and that it never really ended. The next scene shows mystery fireman lifting up his helmet- what a surprise- it's Scott. He goes to the dumpster, clearly looking for the treasure which is gone.

Em shows back at the site, hysterical for info on Jason/Nik. Carly tries to calm her down. Ric advises the search ended due to the building being unstable. All of a sudden everything goes into slow motion. Em and Courtney look on, Jason exists the building- solo. Courtney runs to him, Em smiles then cries hysterically as Jason looks her in the eye.
