General Hospital Update for Monday, 8-Sep-2003

General Hospital was a busy one today. Elizabeth was injured when a car mowed her down, and flew from the scene. Naturally, Faith , in all her smugness, stood beside Liz's life-less body and said:" Now, Ric is truly free". Did she hit Elizabeth or did an angry Ric hit her? Ric and Elizabeth had just had a firey, hurtful argument. This seems to be the main question on all minds. Who , once again, tried to kill Liz?A caring grandmother sits by Liz's side to reassure her. When Ric rushes in, Liz lets him have it. She accuses him of doing this dreadful act for revenge. A shocked Ric Lansing is arrested by the policeman who notified Ric of her accident .. In the meantime, Sonny goes to see Faith whom he accuses. When Sonny takes a peek at the messed up car, Faith tells Sonny that this is Ric's car. Of course," something smells rotten in Port Charles." Ric is about to leave for NY and Faith begs to follow him sooooo.
A soft- spoken Emily tells Nikolas that it is unfair to keep secrets from her huband Zander.Nik gave EM a lovely heirloom bracelet which has been in the Cassadine Family for years. Alexis told Em the legend behind this precious trinket so Emily knows that she must return it to him. Emily says " THIs must stop because it is so unfair to Zander whom I have pledged to love." She also added :" Under other circumstances, I would have worn it proudly."She said:" Zander has given me his soul." "I have pledged my heart to him."So, with an apology, NIK accepts the bracelet.
A half-naked teen named Cindy appears in Ned/ Eddie's bed. Ned is furious so he tells her to leave. Big Alice appears to make sure that this intruder does go. I still do not know why AJ sticks his nose in at this point. :-)Of course, the viewer knows that Stefan is out to ruin Ned's reputation so Alexis can regain custody of her baby daughter. Speaking of babies, Sonny tells Jason that he is so afraid that he will lose this baby too. The doctor has shown Carly and him the ultrasound of their healthy son. Yet, It's almost too much for Sonny to percieve. Jason tries to reassure him that things will go well.
Courtney is cuddled up on the couch with the baby comforter that Carly had given to her and Jason. She's so despondent ,and feels so guilty for the death of their baby. Jason tells her that he loves her ,will not leave her, and wishes that he could take away her enormous pain. She has been taking too many pain killers. Will she become addicted? Did she, in a stupor ,accidentally hit Liz? A grieving Courtney tells Jason that she is caught "in this vicious cycle of anger and grief." Jason suggests that they go away for a while. He says, in essence, Nothing is more important than our love for each other." A kind, compassionate , forgiving Jason may have found a way to really help Courtney during this time of emptiness.
