At Port Charles University…
Lucky warns Summer against registering for class with a certain professor; he’s heard bad things about this guy. They find out they are in similar situations – trying to figure out what direction to take. Lucky introduces himself. Summer does, too, introducing herself as Laura. So I guess she is going by Laura now. After being taken aback slightly by meeting a Laura who looks a little like his mom, Lucky recovers and asks what kinds of courses she plans on taking. When she says she doesn’t really know, he suggests she start by coming up with something she’s good at. She says the only thing she seems to be good at is being other people, leading Lucky to suggest she take acting classes. Laura seems to like that idea.
At the Corinthos penthouse…
Courtney is furious after Carly told her Jason is being framed by AJ. She grabs her coat and vows to do something about it. Carly tries to talk her out of it and tells her it will accomplish nothing. She even tries to shift the blame to Brenda, but Courtney takes off and leaves anyway.
On the docks…
Felicia meets with Sonny and tells him what happened when she went to see Ida. Felicia told Ida that Sonny was after her and got her scared enough to leave when she got the chance. Sonny assures her Ida will be protected, but he wants to see who Ida runs to.
Later, Ric and Carly sit down on a bench, having spent the evening checking out locations for her club. She says the spot that interests her the most is the basement of Kelly’s and she wants to knock down the walls and see what is going on down there, why the plans don’t match what is there. Ric sweet-talks her and tells her it doesn’t matter where the location is, she’ll make it great no matter what. Carly admits that she was able to get her mind off of Sonny, at least. Ric suggests she build a club from the ground up, but Carly laughs at that idea. She doesn’t want to spend all that money (all of Sonny’s money) on the start-up costs. Ric mentions that he hopes Sonny doesn’t use illegal money to finance the club and then lets it drop to Carly that Sonny could turn all his operations legal. Carly admits she doesn’t feel comfortable talking about Sonny’s business with Ric but tells him that Sonny has tried in the past to go legit and he just cannot. Ric says it is only because he hasn’t had the right guy to transition him before and he is the guy. Ric continues to try to persuade her, pushing all the right buttons – her son, her safety. Ultimately, he hits her with, “What if you could have more? What if you could have Sonny and not be afraid?”
Even later, Laura is walking around the docks looking at the PCU class book and comes across Luke. After basically offering his disapproval of her class selection, he tells her he wants to help finance her education. He starts to write her out a check, but she says she doesn’t want charity and she doesn’t want to work at his club. He says he is paying her to continue to play Laura, his Laura. He wants her to continue playing the game when she is around him. He calls it an acting job. I call it C-R-A-Z-Y!
At the Quartermaine house…
Jason is outside spying through the window and taking pictures. Inside, Ned is on the phone with Faith Roscoe. She says she is on board for destroying Sonny but needs more “negotiations” from him. She invites him to her hotel room and promises to “make it worth his while.” Ned pours himself a drink when AJ comes in and criticizes Ned for not being at work that day and wonders how Ned plans to take Sonny down when he doesn’t even show up for work. The boys bicker about which one of them is going to take down Sonny. Ned leaves with an air of arrogance.
With Ned gone, AJ calls Skye and leaves a message on her machine, worried that she is hurting herself. No sooner does he hang up than Courtney shows up. Jason is still outside snapping pictures. Courtney wants AJ to pay off Ida to keep her mouth shut about seeing Jason to prove that he is the man she thought he was. (Huh?) She wants him to prove that he is the better person he claimed she made him. She thinks if he bribes the woman to change her story then he will at least be doing something illegal for a good cause, to help Sonny and Jason. (And what a good cause they are!) AJ says he’ll consider it, but she has to do something for him in return. She has to come back to him and act like the loving wife.
At the Corinthos penthouse…
Sonny returns home and gets a call, finding out that Johnny lost the tail on Ida. Sonny’s pissed and calls Jason. He warns him that Ida has been lost. They still expect her to show up at the Quartermaine house, however, and he tells Jason to get it on film.
Carly and Ric return home and Carly tells him how she saved him money by discarding the idea of building a club from scratch. Sonny is glad since the warehouse is way behind schedule and way over budget. Ric compliments Sonny on his business acumen and mentions that it is good that he has built up his legitimate holdings for when he wants to get out of the mob. Sonny, surprisingly, doesn’t take too kindly to any advice offered to him on this subject and basically tells Ric to butt out, mind his own business and get the hell out.
When Ric leaves, Sonny tells Carly that Ric is playing her, only telling her what she wants to hear. Carly doesn’t think that is the case and tells him that she is happy the way things are, but if she had her choice, sure, she would prefer he was legit and wasn’t always in danger and always had the PCPD breathing down his neck. She assures him she accepts things the way they are, though, because she loves him.
At Coleman’s office…
Skye wonders why Coleman is going to hide her secret if he thinks she killed Alcazar. He says he is just a nice guy. But then he goes on to say how helping her and AJ frame Brenda and Jason gets him one step closer to what he wants – Courtney. Skye worries about not remembering what really happened with Alcazar. Coleman assures her if she sticks to her story, all will be fine because the witness he secured is a professional.
Much later, Ida shows up and says their deal is off. Coleman can’t believe she is there! Ida admits that she heard Sonny is after her and got scared so she gave the cops the slip. She says she is done with the whole mess. Skye walks in and Ida says, after seeing Skye, “You! It was you!”
At Faith Roscoe’s place…
Ned arrives. Faith opens the door in her lingerie. She rattles off his biography to him, telling him she is impressed. He tells her he likes to follow through when he has a goal. They seem to be similar in that regard, she remarks. She is happy they have the same goal but tells Ned it will cost him a lot. They talk about trust and she tells him as much as she wants Sonny gone, she needs some “extra perks and assurances” that he is trustworthy. To prove his trust to her, Ned throws her down on the bed and starts ravishing her.
At their island getaway…
Brenda tells Jax she can’t sign the divorce papers quite yet. She tells him she can’t risk having to testify against Jason – or vice versa. She owes him that, she tells Jax. He doesn’t buy it and thinks there is more to it, namely Sonny. Brenda admits that she doesn’t want to see Sonny go to jail for conspiracy when he had nothing to do with the murder. After all, Sonny has a wife and a child. She says she can’t ignore that Sonny and Jason don’t exist and just let Scott Baldwin railroad them. He finally relents and wonders if he can still ask her to be his girl. She says that is okay and they make vows of commitment to each other. Later, after falling asleep, Brenda has a bad dream that Taggert finds them. When Jax comes running in to see what was wrong, he is all dressed up and tells her he has a surprise for her – they are going to celebrate. He has bought her a dress to wear and has alcohol chilling. He leaves to take care of another detail, allowing her to get ready. Once dressed, Brenda takes the opportunity to call the PCPD. When she gets Taggert on the phone, he mentions that she is still his number one suspect and lets her think that Jason and Sonny are behind bars. That’s all she needs to hear and hangs up. When Jax comes back, he finds an empty dress and Brenda gone. Turns out, she is on a plane bound back to Port Charles.
