At Wyndham’s Department Store…
Luke gets angry at “Laura” because she can’t seem to be a complete replica of his Laura. She says things the wrong way and it upsets him, as he realizes he can’t get back what he had. She finally is able to coax the story of Luke and Laura’s life out of him. He tells how they met, how much he loved her, how they lived on the run for years. He tells “Laura” how he first thought she was a sign from the other Laura, but now he knows better. He wonders if it was a mistake to ever leave Texas or to return to Port Charles. As he goes on, “Laura” falls asleep on his knee. When “Laura” finally wakes up, Luke jokes with her about falling asleep on the job. She cannot believe she has done this and frantically tries to get ready for her next date. Before she leaves, he asks for some information, like why she goes by the name Summer. She provides him with no answers and rushes off, leaving behind her blue scarf.
At Courtney’s apartment…
Jason and Courtney kiss passionately. He pulls back for a second and asks her if she is sure she wants to do this. They kiss again, deciding they don’t want to stop. They start to undress and Courtney leads Jason into the bedroom.
After making love (presumably – no love scene here), they talk. Courtney says she never knew it could be like this. Then, she tries to make Jason understand that she really only wanted to give him dinner. She starts to feel guilty, I guess, and reminds Jason that they are both married to other people and that they just made love in AJ’s bed. Jason suggests they just try to think of something else, so while they do, there is suddenly a loud thud. “What was that?” Courtney wonders.
The thud was from Rosie, who wanted to come back home. Courtney is about to return Rosie to the dog-watcher, but Jason announces he needs to leave anyway. She walks him out and they have a little awkward good-bye. She suggests he call her if he wants to…he kisses her on the forehead and leaves.
At the police station…
AJ meets up with Skye at the police station, where she has come to give her testimony. He can’t believe it – she has shown up drunk! He forces coffee down her throat and tells her the testimony is important. Mac takes her into the interrogation room, alone. Skye seems worried when neither AJ nor Scott will be in the room with her as she gives her statement. Alone in the interrogation room, it becomes clear to Mac that Skye didn’t exactly see Brenda push Alcazar off the terrace. He starts a new line of questioning about her drinking and if she has ever had so much to drink that she doesn’t remember her actions.
Scott hears Jax’s statement, admitting to murdering Alcazar, and doesn’t believe it. He suggests Jax has only now come forward because Brenda is in trouble. Taggert shows up and announces that they found Jax’s fingerprints all over the railing of the terrace and has been placed at the crime scene during the time of the murder. Jax doesn’t back down and recounts the events of the night of Alcazar’s murder…how he didn’t intend to kill Luis, just planned on telling him to stay away from Brenda, but Luis gloated about getting Brenda back and amusing himself with Skye, in the meantime, who was in his bed at the moment. Jax lost it and they struggled, with Alcazar going after the terrace. Scott wonders why Jax didn’t even check on Skye. Jax admits it wasn’t his finest moment. Taggert asks if Luis was injured during their struggle and Jax admits he already was bleeding from a cut on his hand. Jax insists that Alcazar died from the fall, not the knife wound and everyone is smart enough to realize that Brenda is not strong enough to push a man off a balcony.
Taggert and Scott argue over Jax. Taggert wants him arrested, while Scott wants him released. Scott is deadset on going after Sonny and Jason, but Taggert says as much as he wants them to go down, this isn’t the way to do it. Scott wants more evidence to free Jax, but Taggert refuses to send his men to look for more evidence when they have a confession. Scott tells the cops to get Jax in a cell.
From the interrogation room, Skye sees her husband being carted away and goes crazy. She comes running out and screams that her husband is not a murderer, that he is only doing this to save Brenda. She begs the cops to let him go and begs Jax to reconsider saving Brenda. AJ ushers her out as soon as he can before she totally freaks out.
Outside, AJ tells her to get ahold of herself. He wants to take her home or to a meeting and chastises her for showing up at the police station drunk. She doesn’t want his help and spits at him, “See how sober you stay when your little wife goes to bed with your brother.”
At the Corinthos penthouse…
Sonny orders Ric to go after the district attorney, Scott Baldwin. Ric will need to convince Scott to “cooperate.” Sonny also makes it clear that if Ric gets caught, he will get no help from anyone in Sonny’s organization. Ric accepts the offer and thanks Sonny. Carly comes out of hiding and congratulates Ric, wondering what the assignment is. Sonny warns Ric to never discuss business with Carly when suddenly Michael comes running downstairs talking about trains. Michael gets to meet Ric and seems duly impressed when he learns this stranger is doing business with his daddy. Surely, he knows his daddy’s reputation! When Michael runs back upstairs, Ric mentions he liked trains when he was growing up, too, causing Carly to wonder where he grew up. “All over Europe,” Ric replies. When Ric leaves moments later, Carly mentions that Ric seems like a nice guy. Sonny remains suspicious of the stranger, however and thinks his resume and references are a little too good to be true. Sonny admits that he is a long way from trusting him. Carly launches into a bunch of what-ifs…what if their lives were different and Sonny never did anything illegal and what if Carly never lied. Sonny doesn’t want to waste time thinking about that; it’s too late.
As soon as Jason gets off the elevator, Carly comes running out, wanting to hear about his date. Sonny hears them outside, too, and asks Jason where he’s been all night.
At Kelly’s…
Ric buys some pie and tries to get some info out of Elizabeth, asking her about politics and the D.A. She doesn’t have too many details for him, but when Bobbie walks in, Liz suggests if Ric wants to hear about Scott Baldwin, then Bobbie is the person to ask. Ric, in turn, asks to buy Bobbie a cup of coffee. Bobbie goes off on Scott when asked. She calls him a “liar, thief and probably a crook.” She also says he will do whatever it takes to get what he wants.
Back at Courtney’s apartment…
Courtney has changed her clothes. There is a knock on her door. Thinking it is Jason again, she answers the door with a happy “Hi” and a smile, but instead, it is AJ. She gives him five minutes to state his piece. He wants to tell her that he refuses to sign the divorce papers without offering some sort of alimony. He looks around the apartment and notices the table set for two. He jumps to the right conclusion and wonders how she could move on so quickly. When he wants to go into the bedroom, she insists that he can’t! AJ announces he can’t believe she is already sleeping with his brother.
Back at the PCPD…
Jax visits Brenda to tell her that he confessed and she will be free. She can’t believe he did this and begs him to reconsider! Scott listens to their conversation via a walkie-talkie planted in the room. Taggert tells him that is illegal but Scott wants to hear Jax admit his confession is a fake. Jax doesn’t break down and change his story, however, despite Brenda trying to get him to change his mind. Taggert goes in and arrests Jax.
As Scott retires to his office, he turns around and finds Ric sitting in his chair. Scott asks him who he is; Ric responds, “I’m the answer to all your prayers.”
On the docks…
Luke comes across some guy hassling a call girl. When Luke jumps to her defense, the guy asks if he is the lady’s pimp. Luke thinks it sounds like a good idea and says yes he is. The guy pulls out a badge and says he is under arrest, then.
On the road…
Skye, who looks just AWFUL with makeup smeared all over her face and tears streaming down her cheeks, is driving down some road. She swerves away from a near-accident and then reaches into her purse to dig something out, taking her eyes off the road for a good ten seconds. When she looks up again, she slams on her brakes and screams! It seems like she hit someone. In fact, we see a body hit the windshield!
Quote of the day:
“Is that why the guy has to give you cash upfront…so you’re still conscious enough to count it?” Luke to “Laura” the hooker after she falls asleep during their “date.”
