In Alcazar’s room…

(Okay, this whole first segment is basically repeated from Friday with only a few new details; I guess they wanted to show us Alcazar’s death and the prime suspects’ whereabouts again. Or else they are just really pleased as punch with their own editing job.)

Luis opens the door of his hotel room to find Brenda there. He thinks she has come to her senses. She seems visibly distraught and tells him the only thing he’s ever done for her is to save her life and because of that, she owes him. She tries to return the favor and informs Luis that Sonny is going to kill him so he should leave town. Luis says he isn’t worried about Sonny and claims she is there because they belong together. He says she will never be happy without him, that he won’t let her be happy with anyone else. Skye, who is still in Luis’ bed, is awoken by their voices.

Back in the living room, Brenda tries to get past Luis to get out of there but he won’t let her. He grabs her and forcibly kisses her. She pulls away in tears and wrenches away from his grasp. Her bracelet unknowingly falls to the floor in her struggle to get out. She turns around and runs out of the room. As she races down the hall, she hits a room service table and knocks a knife to the ground. She picks up the knife and stares at it.

Back in Luis’ bedroom, Skye wakes up and holds her head and looks at the closed bedroom door. Meanwhile, Jax is in the elevator. As it hits the 14th floor, he gets out and stares down the hall. Jason, at the same time, is running up the stairwell. He arrives on the 14th floor, opens the door and looks down the hall.

Luis has gone outside to the balcony, agonizing over Brenda. He is near tears. Someone is in his room and walks to the balcony. Luis turns around and faces the person and asks, “Now what?” Suddenly, Luis comes flailing down 14 floors, seemingly thrown off the balcony. He lands – SMACK- on a car’s windshield. The car alarm blares.

We see Luis’ hotel room door wide open, the bedroom door closed. Brenda is leaning against a wall breathing deeply. Jason comes up from behind and grabs her with a gloved hand. She starts screaming but he stifles her screaming. She whirls around and tells Jason that Luis grabbed her and she hurt him. Jason asks if he is dead. She just repeats that she hurt him. They hear a noise and go running back into the stairwell. A maid pushes a housekeeping cart down the hall.

Jax is standing on the balcony of Luis’ room, staring down at the body. He carefully goes to leave the room and steps on Brenda’s bracelet. He notices it, bends down, picks it up, inspects it and runs to the hallway to look out. He doesn’t see anyone and takes off running (one day he walks with a cane; the next he sprints down the hall).

Outside, the new guy in town (the one from the jail cell next to Carly and Jason) is right next to Alcazar’s body and the car. He checks out the scene.

Back upstairs in Luis’ room, Skye finally comes out of the bedroom (or comes out again perhaps!) and gathers her clothes. She seems freaked out, looks around the room one final time and races out the open door down the hall.

Back outside, Alexis rounds a corner by a garbage dumpster and sees Luis’ body mangled on the car windshield. She lets out a piercing scream.

At Luke’s club…

Blue Scarf Lady aka Summer aka Laura wants to know how Luke knew her name was really Laura. She explains that her mom was the only one who ever really called her Laura so how did he figure it out? He is amazed that her name really is Laura and tells her that he didn’t know anything, that he woke up after getting hit by the truck and mistook her for his wife, Laura. She is pleased with the answer and turns to go. Luke asks Laura who she is, where she came from and why she changed her name, but she doesn’t want to answer any of his questions. Luke suggests she owes him; he did, after all, save her life. He offers to help her since she is apparently in trouble. She isn’t interested, but he tells her to leave her options open before blowing him off completely. She repeats that she isn’t interested and leaves. Luke follows.

Outside Kelly’s…

Carly has come outside to look for her husband. Sonny points out that Jason was supposed to meet him there, but he’s late. Sonny deduces something happened. Carly wonders if Jason is hurt or in trouble. Suddenly, Sonny’s cell phone rings. Jason is on the other end and says, “There were complications. We are headed home.” Sonny wonders who the “we” is, but announces he’ll head home, too. Sonny and Carly head out.

At the place where Alexis found Luis’ body…

Taggert is giving Alexis a hard time, wondering how she found herself in an alley when she has a troubled newborn at the hospital. She, for some reason, feels compelled to discuss with Taggert the situation surrounding her going into labor and how Alcazar left her there in the snow. (Smart move, lawyer lady. Why not give them a motive?) Scott walks up and hears her story and suggests she was probably mad enough to kill Alcazar. (See, even Scott figured that out!) She claims she was only going to talk to him, to try to frighten him enough to leave town. Taggert starts in on Sonny…did Alexis ever hear Sonny threaten Alcazar? Alexis tells Taggert she told him what she had planned on doing and now wants to go back to her baby. As she walks off, Scott asks Alexis if she could venture a guess as to who killed Alcazar? Alexis admits she has no idea but suggests whoever did it, “the world is in their debt.” With Alexis gone, Scott thinks the case is closed and that Sonny and Jason are going down. Taggert tells him not to jump the gun, that cause of death hasn’t been determined yet and suicide hasn’t been ruled out.

Inside Kelly’s…

AJ wonders why Courtney suddenly thinks that he wanted to get Michael back, how could she suddenly think that was the only reason he married her. He says this is ridiculous and accuses Jason of filling her head with these “lies.” Courtney demands to know how he would have explained it to her had his plan to exchange her for Michael worked with Sonny. He tells her that their marriage was real, that he still loves her. She calls him a liar and says she never really knew him at all. AJ says the one person she truly does not know is Jason, pointing out that he is a killer and is ready to kill someone else that very night. When Courtney doesn’t want to hear it, AJ insists it is true. She changes the topic back for the Michael-for-Courtney trade. AJ continues to deny it and even claims he has given up all hope of ever getting Michael back. He asks Courtney why doesn’t she ask Jason, the paragon of honesty, why he carries a gun. He reminds her that although he has done some bad deeds, he has never killed anyone (oh, I think Carly and Sonny might disagree…). Courtney repeats that she doesn’t believe a word that he speaks anymore. AJ relents and says fine, if she doesn’t believe him, she better believe someone soon because Jason is a killer. AJ finally leaves and Courtney can get back to actually waiting on customers! She goes over to wait on New Guy a.k.a. Jail Guy a.k.a. Guy Standing By and Watching Alcazar Plummet to His Death, but gets interrupted by someone wanting her to switch the television to Monday Night Football. Of course, Monday Night Football has been interrupted by breaking news…Luis Alcazar was found dead. The news reports that it is suspected that Alcazar ran afoul of the local organized crime boss. Courtney listens to the story and even Jail Guy perks up his ears.

At Harborview Towers…

Sonny and Carly arrive home and turn on the news to watch the story about Alcazar. After he’s heard enough, Sonny turns off the TV. Carly is freaked out and worried about Jason. Sonny tells her to stay there and don’t talk to anyone. In a very un-Carly like move, she doesn’t seem to want to follow directions. Finally, she agrees to stay there and keep her mouth shut. Sonny leaves and goes across the hall to Jason’s place.

Jason has just ushered Brenda inside his place and demands to know every move that Brenda made that night at the Port Charles Hotel and more specifically, in Alcazar’s hotel room. She wants to get back before Jax wakes up (Oh, he’s already awake honey). Finally, she agrees to talk and says she tried to kill Luis. She says he grabbed her and she tried to kill him. Sonny comes in and wants to know what happened. Jason fills him in but Brenda continues to be vague and worries about getting back to Jax. Jason demands to know the details. Finally, Brenda admits she stabbed Luis. She recounts how he grabbed her, kissed her, she got away, ran into a room service cart, took the knife and intended to go back to Luis’ room and kill him. Sonny asks if she did kill him. Brenda says she wanted to, but she didn’t. She says she stabbed him in his hand, maybe his shoulder, too. Sonny asks where the knife was; she claims she threw it down. Sonny asks if she was wearing gloves. She is surprised at the question, since she didn’t go there to kill him and he was alive when she left. She asks Sonny and Jason if they think she is lying. Sonny says he believes her but just wants all the details. She is fed up and wants to go to Jax. Jason finally loses his patience and informs her that Alcazar is indeed dead and they need to cover up what happened. They decide Brenda should go back to Jax for now, though.

As Brenda and Jason head to the elevator, Sonny tells Brenda to keep it quiet that she was at Jason’s place and talked to Sonny. She promises not to tell anyone, even Jax. Carly hears the voices in the hallway and opens the door. When she sees Brenda involved, she just shakes her head in disgust and goes back inside.

Back in their place, Sonny and Carly are watching the news again, but he turns it off as they are about to announce what the prime suspect looks like. (like Jason-tall, gorgeous, emotionless). They have drinks and Carly admits that she heard them talking to Brenda and she knows that Sonny is covering for Brenda. Carly deduces that Brenda killed Alcazar. (Okay, I’m sorry, but of all our suspects, tiny Brenda is not the one who could have pushed Alcazar off that balcony).

At the hospital…

Ned is there, taking off his coat. Alexis comes running in and is surprised to see him. He gives some half-baked story about his whereabouts and then asks where she was. She tells him about finding Alcazar’s body but Ned barely reacts. Alexis wonders why he isn’t the least bit surprised that Alcazar is dead. He admits he wanted Alcazar dead and so did a lot of people. He says Alcazar was a marked man and it was just a matter of time. Ned is curious why Alexis was over there and tells her it must have been a horrible scene to witness. He comforts her and says they can now focus on baby Kristina. Alexis just stares at him like he is a murderer.

The nurse announces that Kristina is getting some color. Alexis talks to her baby. Ned announces once the baby reaches five pounds, she should be able to go home. Ned talks about the plans for the baby, where she will live, nanny or nurse arrangements, etc… Alexis announces that Kristina will live with her in her apartment and she will not needg a nanny or a nurse, that she intends to be a full-time parent. In fact, she tells Ned that she is going to be raising Kristina alone.

At Brenda’s cottage…

Jax is still running around on his gimp leg, checking each room of the cottage. No signs of Brenda. He thinks he hears a noise outside but doesn’t seem to see anyone. He turns on the TV to hear the news. They are reporting that Alcazar’s death does not seem to be a suicide.

As he continues to watch the news, there is urgent knocking on the door. It is Skye and she wants to see Brenda. Jax informs Skye that Brenda is asleep and then brushes her aside. Er, rather, tries to brush her aside. Skye makes a snide comment about murdering a man and going right to bed. Then, she walks in and starts screaming for Brenda (she isn’t there, Dearie). She realizes Brenda isn’t there. Jax says Brenda didn’t have anything to do with Alcazar’s death. “Believe me,” he asserts. (Why? Because he is the killer!) Skye cannot believe that Jax is covering for Brenda after she killed a man. Jax can’t believe Skye is acting this way and wonders why she is refusing to let go. He says he is starting to feel sorry for her. Before leaving, Skye says she will return the favor when Brenda is behind bars and he’s left alone. After Skye leaves, Jax looks at the bracelet he found at Luis’ room.

Later, Brenda sneaks inside quietly, trying not to wake up Jax. He is in bed, pretending to sleep. As soon as she manages to sneak into bed, Jax opens up his eyes.

In the park…

The new mysterious Laura/Summer meets some older man with a kiss. He compliments her. Nosy Luke is watching everything from behind a tree.

At Luis’s room…

The room is cordoned off with yellow police tape. Scott is barking “don’t-mess-this-up” orders to the policemen. AJ is there with relevant information for Scott. Scott warns him to stay clear of the crime scene so his DNA doesn’t taint that of his brother’s. AJ announces how he saw Jason driving Alcazar’s limo at the Quartermaine house. Taggert wants corroboration from someone.

Back at Kelly’s…

As Courtney waits on Mysterious New Guy, AJ returns again and asks if Courtney heard the news about Alcazar. She suggests he probably killed Alcazar himself just so he could pin it on Jason (funny!). Jason shows up. AJ wants Courtney to ask Jason where he was. He starts to mouth off to Jason. Courtney interjects to shut AJ up and asks Jason point blank if he killed Alcazar. Before he can answer, Scott and Taggert show up and say they had the very same question. Meanwhile, Skye looks in through the window (probably because she has some news to tell the cops about Brenda.).

Quote of the Day:

Skye to Jax: “And really, why are you standing here fully dressed if Brenda is up there in bed? What are the odds of that?”
