At the park…

Alexis screams in pain. She is panting and asks Alcazar to help her, help the baby… Alcazar stares at her coldly and says he’s sorry, but she was right. He only cares about Brenda. Alexis has fallen to the snow-covered ground, writhing in pain. Something is obviously wrong. When Alcazar walks away without lifting a hand, Alexis tries to pull out her cell phone. She can’t seem to get to it and lies down on the park bench.

At Brenda’s cottage…

Brenda and Jax kiss. Skye looks in from the window, but leaves before her husband and his ex get even hotter and heavier. They undress and fall to the couch in each other’s embrace. Sting sings in the background. After making love, Brenda talks about how she forgot what it’s like to be happy and how great it is to be with him. They sit in front of the fire talking about miracles. Jax says he will never let her go again, ever. When Brenda comments that the nightmare is over, Jax adds an “almost.” Brenda presses him to explain what he means and he finally points out that Alcazar is still alive for now. She wonders what he means by that and asks him if he would ever kill someone. Jax doesn’t answer.

At General Hospital…

Luke and “Dr. Quack” (aka Cameron Lewis) are heading to the elevator after the anger management session. Luke is gloating that his “anger can’t be managed.” Cameron is hardly impressed and calls Luke “profoundly antisocial.” As Luke heads off into the elevator, Dr. Lewis asks him who he is trying to impress. Before Luke can get away, Scott shows up and tells Luke he is under arrest. Luke jumps out of the elevator, only too eager to get locked up. Dr. Lewis suggests an alternative: Luke could be released into the hands of a psychiatrist. Luke isn’t interested, but Scott wants to know why he would want to do that. Cameron says it is for “research.” Scott finds the idea intriguing and agrees to it, much to the consternation of Luke. Scott walks off and wishes Cameron luck with his new “chimpanzee.” Cameron wonders if Luke’s anger is directed at Scott in particular or the D.A.’s office in general. Luke throws more barbs the doctor’s way, and the doctor dishes right back.

At the Elm Street Pier…

AJ finds Courtney and Jason together so he is peeved, of course. He tells Courtney he was planning on finding Jason to make peace, just like Courtney had asked. He says perhaps his marriage would have been fine had he sat back and watched his brother seduce his wife. Courtney exclaims he is all wrong about that, but AJ insists she can’t see Jason’s ulterior motives because she is kind and decent. Jason points out she saw through AJ. AJ throws the first punch and the two start to scuffle until Courtney yells for Jason to stop. AJ tries to egg Jason on while Courtney yells at him to walk away. He listens to Courtney and pulls back. AJ continues taunting Jason and Jason suggests he and Courtney get out of there. She doesn’t want to leave until she speaks with AJ alone, however. Jason is hesitant to leave her alone but she assures him she knows what she is doing.

With Jason gone, AJ starts trying to explain to Courtney how she can see how Jason is now, cold and calculated, with no conscience. Courtney tells AJ she is finally catching on…Jason is the cause of all their problems. She is sarcastic and trying to show AJ how single-minded he is. Courtney points out that if it weren’t for Jason protecting AJ after he burned down the Oasis, AJ wouldn’t even be free to have stalked her. AJ admits he made mistakes, but asks her if she hasn’t made mistakes of her own. Courtney says her mistake was marrying him. AJ wonders how Courtney thinks she is blameless when she lied to him, about stripping, about spending time with Jason. Courtney reminds her that her lying was to protect him and to protect her safety. She goes on, defending Jason, saying he doesn’t have to try to pretend to be brave, he just is. She also says is too honest to use hidden cameras. AJ tells her to climb into Jason’s bed if she thinks he is so wonderful. Courtney storms off saying it is a great idea.

At the Corinthos penthouse…

Carly is surprised Sonny is there, with her. She expected him to be with Brenda. He says he wanted to be home with her. She admits she is happy he is home, but wonders why. Sonny says he went to Lily’s grave to find Brenda, but she was gone already. He admits to Carly that, although he knew where Brenda would be, he didn’t go after her and instead reflected on what his life used to be compared to what it is now, with her. His life used to be silent, dark, alone, full of memories. With her in his life, she made his penthouse into a home and made him happy. Carly, never satisfied, wonders if that is what he wanted or was it just the best he could do without Brenda. He says he wants to be with her, with Carly. She asks again, why? Sonny pours himself a drink (she’s driving me to drink, too, with her insecurity!) and says he doesn’t want Brenda. Carly doubts it because he ran out of the house, in front of Skye, to find out how Brenda was doing. Sonny continues to try to convince Carly. She says she knows that Brenda set his heart on fire and wonders if she does that to him now. He takes her in his arms, looks her in the eye and says, “You always set my heart on…” Knock knock knock. They are interrupted by Jason at the door.

Jason deliver the latest news on AJ and Courtney (although we don’t see it) and Sonny is livid after hearing what AJ did this time and cannot believe Jason left them alone and didn’t pummel AJ. Sonny finds out where AJ and Courtney were and goes to find them.

With Sonny gone, Carly starts in about Courtney and Jason liking each other. He tells her to drop it, but she won’t. Jason insists he was only trying to help Sonny’s little sister. He finally confesses to her: “I like Courtney. She’s a nice person.” Carly insists his eyes light up when he says that. Jason leaves to go pack up Brenda’s things and Carly follows him into the hall, trying to get him to admit that he likes Courtney. He suggests she is just trying to annoy him and points out that it is working. Carly says the old Jason, her friend Jason, would just admit the truth, that he likes Courtney. “Why can’t you just admit that you’re liking Courtney?” Carly asks as Courtney gets off the elevator and stands behind Carly, hearing all of this.

At the park…

Alexis is still writhing in pain when Cameron comes upon her and tries to help her. Quick with a diagnosis, he points out she is in labor and helps her to the hospital.

At Jax and Skye’s cabin in the woods…

Skye has returned home and heads right to the liquor cabinet. Why a home to a recovering alcoholic would even have a liquor cabinet is not answered here. Skye pulls away and tries to restrain herself from the booze. Everywhere she looks, though, she is reminded of her husband. She finds their vows and rereads them while images of Brenda and Jax kissing passionately run through her head. It’s too much; she pours herself a drink.

When Jax finally makes it back home, Skye is drunk on the couch. He announces he is moving out. She pours herself another drink and offers him one, suggesting he toast to his newfound happiness. He wants her to stop making it worse. Skye thinks she made it too easy on him, no one to rescue, no white horse for him to ride in on. He reminds her that her lying is what did them in. Skye isn’t hearing any of it and reminds him that he lied himself. Then she continues with her “Jax needs excitement” theory, pointing out that she had no fatal disease, no men following her around carrying guns, no rival for her love. Jax is sick of hearing this, thinks it is a waste of time. He admits he lied and says they both sabotaged their marriage. Now she isn’t interested in hearing his honesty. Skye points out that they are still married and he says she can handle this however she wants. He offers money and any settlement she might want. Skye is adamant: “ No divorce. No damn way!”

At the hospital…

Bobbie and Dr. Courtland go to work on Alexis. Alexis screams for someone to call Ned. Bobbie goes off and does exactly that.

On the streets of Port Charles…

Ned runs into Alcazar and gives him some menacing words, threatens him. Luis smarts back about Ned celebrating his impending fatherhood with a cigar. Ned is confused, but just then, Bobbie calls and says Alexis needs him at the hospital; she is in labor.

Luke is walking down the same street, it looks like, moments later. He sees a woman with long blonde hair wearing a blue coat in front of him. She is looking in her purse for her keys and drops them in the street. Suddenly, a big truck comes barreling down the street and Luke runs to save the mystery woman. He pushes her out of the way and gets hit by the truck, which can’t stop quite in time. As Luke looks up in semi-consciousness, he sees the blonde woman over him asking if he is okay. With his blurry vision, she looks like Laura. He manages to sputter out, “Lau…Laura?” before his head drops back down to the pavement. The truck driver comes over and wonders why Luke ran into the road like that, asks if he is okay. Luke says he is, but wonders where the blonde woman went. The truck driver thinks he’s crazy and says he didn’t see anyone else. Luke looks confused.

On the Elm Street Pier…

Sonny runs into Brenda. He asks if she has a minute and she laughs, “Actually I do.” He tells her how great it is that she is going to live. He wonders if she is going to stay in Port Charles, but she hasn’t made any decisions yet. She thinks about it for a second and says she thinks she will be staying there. He asks if she will be picking up where she left off. Brenda admits she doesn’t know what her plans are, but she just wants to be happy and build a home somewhere. He wishes her luck and they say good-bye. As she is leaving, Sonny stops her and says he has some words for her as a friend: “It’s never going to work out. You’re never going to be happy with Jax.”

Back at the hospital…

Cameron is there, helping Alexis breathe and suggesting she relax. If the contractions don’t slow down, the baby could be born that night and has a 60% chance of survival. The goal is to get the contractions to stop and keep the baby in there. Alexis sobs to save her baby. Finally, she is able to calm down a bit and talks to baby Kristina, saying she’ll make it. Ned arrives and Alexis begs him not to leave her. He says he isn’t going anywhere. Ned looks at this bearded guy in the emergency room and wonders if he is a doctor. Then, Alexis’ water breaks. Ned wonders what is going to happen. The doctor tells him that the baby needs to come out within 24 hours or it will die.
