Skye and Brenda—
The morning after Brenda shacks up with Jason she wakes up bright and early to greet Jax at the hospital. The moment flatlines when Skye who is sleeping at Jax’s side, pulls off the miraculously unwrinkled sheets to greet her. In a caddy tone, Skye congratulates Brenda on her marriage to Jason and jokes that they are sister-in-laws. Taking a stab, Skye commends Brenda for moving on with her life in the face of the unknown. Brenda remains composed and says she’ll let them know what happens at trial, but Skye tells her not to bother. Taking the conversation into the hall, Skye says their arrangement is off, to back off, and that she will be taking care of Jax now. Hurt, Brenda asked why she was so insecure. Skye is aware that Brenda does not have a fatal illness, but keeps it to herself since she is unsure if Brenda was lied to, or is in fact the liar.
AJ and Courtney—
While folding an over-sized load of laundry at the pace of a snail, Courtney thinks back to her kiss with Jason. She is startled when AJ walks in and tells her not to do that—housework that is. He reminds her of their agreement to share chores (hence why this is a soap opera and not real life.) Noticing she is on edge, AJ tells her she can talk to him about whatever is bothering her, and reminds Courtney how grateful he has been for her support. Courtney tells AJ she was just thinking about the stalker and that is why she is jumpy. She then informs AJ that Jason and Brenda got married. AJ is stunned and after talking it out, thinks it is bizarre because Brenda hates Jason, but loves Jax and when she doesn’t love Jax, she loves Sonny.
Elizabeth and Lucky—
The young PIs find Luke as part of prison group in a small, log-cabin type prison. Groups of colorfully dressed, loud women enter the prison and Elizabeth learns they are excited because it is conjugal visit day. You can almost see the light bulb go off over her head, and soon after, the prison guard tells Luke that he has a visitor-Laura. While in private, an enthusiastic Elizabeth tells a detached Luke that her and Lucky are there to rescue him. Informing her that he was charged with a felony because of a bar fight with the governor’s son, Luke tells her they can’t help and that they should leave. Elizabeth says Laura would not want that. Upset at the mention of her name, Luke tells her never to mention it again. Still angry, Luke says he doesn’t want help and just wants everyone to leave him alone. He calls the guard who then escorts Elizabeth out. Later, back with the inmates, Luke turns around when the bored men start whistling “fresh meat”. Lucky has craftily acquired a dirty prison uniform (yet his hair is still perfect) and snuck into the jail. As the large men start to push him around, Luke puts dibs on Lucky and takes him outside to fight. He tells Lucky to fight and earn respect, or else the men will never leave Lucky alone. They bicker more than fight and Luke tells Lucky that his mother is gone and no one, not even him, can help her. Lucky disagrees and says, Luke can. Lucky tells Luke he loves him and Luke tells him he has no love.
Ned and Alexis—
The tense pair run into each other in the hospital outside the elevator, as Alexis is about to leave. The other day, Gia enlightened Ned to the fact that Alexis is in love with him and the proposal was not a publicity stunt, but today Ned tells Alexis they should forget about it and write it off as a bad idea. Alexis, saddened, says she will if that is what he wishes. They both agree that all their attention must be directed towards getting justice for Kristina’s death.
The Trial—
Outside the courtroom, Scotty taunts Alcazar by making a string of smart-alec, cocky remarks. The press dominates the area with cameras, reporters and video equipment and when asked how they knew, Scotty insinuates he tipped off the press. It is quite a circus. Both Scotty and Alexis speak to the press and Alexis says that her and Baldwin are on the same side in regards to the trial. Scotty talks to Ned and Alexis in private and assures Alexis that Alcazar will not walk away a free man. Unsure on whether he will be convicted for Kristina’s death, Alexis takes comfort in knowing that he will at least be prosecuted for the shooting of Jax.
Carly and Jason think they are talking in private down the hall, but Sonny is eavesdropping around the corner. Jason informs the always stylishly dressed Carly that Brenda moved into his penthouse. While Carly says she is grateful they’re married because she doesn’t have to consider Brenda a threat anymore, she tells Jason that Brenda will only make him miserable. Rolling her eyes, she asks if they consummated the marriage, but Sonny interrupts, telling Carly in a joking manner to back off.
Soon after, Alcazar tells Jason he should have killed him when he had the chance. Brenda and Sonny walk in and Alcazar warns the trio that he’ll be set free.
Meanwhile, Carly warns Alexis that is she takes the stand she will finally have to tell the truth about her baby. Irate, Alexis tells Carly that Sonny and Alcazar are responsible for Kristina’s death. In her low, vindictive tone, Carly tells Alexis that her sister’s blood is her own fault.
The courtroom begins to fill. Felicia asks Sonny about Roy and he reports he is well in Miami. Zander takes a seat behind Alexis and Ned. Monica congratulates Jason and invites him and Brenda to dinner. After she leaves, Jason says no way, and Brenda says, fine, but he’ll have to be the one to call Lyla and cancel. Jason gives a look of defeat.
Skye enters, pushing Jax in his wheelchair who impressed everyone by walking to Alcazar to say “you risked everything and lost everything.”
Monica, Felicia, Officer Taggert (who said the person who set off the bomb did it knowing Kristina would die), Alexis, Zander and Brenda all gave strong testimony. Brenda stated, on the stand, that Alcazar was a murderer and she hoped that someone would murder him.
While naming the numerous charges against Alcazar Scotty is interrupted and lead into the hallway where a government official hands him an envelope. Upon reentering the courtroom, Sonny comments that it looks like Alcazar called in a favor. Scotty tells the judge he must drop all charges. Furious, Judge Ratcliffe demands just cause and after showing him the government documents he was presented, the Judge dismissed the case.
The courtroom is stunned, but none more than Brenda who has a look of fear on her very thin face. The ever-expressionless Jason is expressionless. Sonny locks a stare on Alcazar and never lets go. The always-cool Jax is in disbelief, and Skye looks sad but scheming. While walking out, Alcazar approaches Brenda who lunges towards him and grabs his suit coat in anger until Jason peels her off.
Outside the courtroom, a puzzled media wants to know what is going on and Scotty tells them it was a government order. Devastated, Alexis interrupts and says it is Scotty’s job to see that justice is served and that Alcazar must be punished for what he did.
Alcazar is handed a letter with cut up letters that reads, “You are dead.” Perhaps as more of a taunt than a need, Alcazar shows the letter to Scotty and demands a police escort, which he receives. Everyone stands in the hallway looking at Alcazar with a mixture of shock, fear, and rage…see where this is going…
