General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 1-Oct-2002

@ Kelly’s (outside)
Jason has walked Courtney to work to make sure that she got there safe. As Courtney thanks for staying the night, although it wasn’t necessary she adds, Liz approaches and overhears the tail end of their conversation. She listens intently as Jason tells Courtney to call him again if she needs anything. Courtney goes into the restaurant and Liz comes out and asks Jason if he can tell her what he was doing with Courtney all night.

@ Kelly’s (inside)
Scott has arrived and is trying to unsuccessfully smooth things over with Bobbie. She doesn’t buy it. As he is asking her out to dinner, he spies a picture of Alexis on the front of the newspaper and yanks it away from someone and reads the headline that tells us Alexis is now running for DA.

@ Quartermaine Mansion
Alan, Edward, Ned and Alexis are toasting her new career move. Edward hands her a cheque and tells her to consider it her first campaign investment. A good campaign needs money, Edward reminds them. Ned tells Alexis that Edward doesn’t give anything out unless there are strings attached.

@ Alcazar’s
Monica has been brought to Alcazar’s hideaway and is ordered to get the bullet out. He mumbles (literally) something about finding Brenda (although he doesn’t use her name) and killing Morgan if he gets in the way. At this point, Monica starts to panic and figures out (to a degree) what is really going on.

@ Lakehouse
Skye has woken up to discover an empty house and no husband. She starts searching.

@ Brenda’s Cottage
Jax arrives and upon finding the cottage empty, he begins searching for his lost love. Brenda shows up and tells him that she had taken a walk in the woods. Jax reminds her of the danger of the situation and that she shouldn’t be wandering out there alone. She says the same thing to him and that he shouldn’t have come without a bodyguard. He hands her a bag of clean clothes as well as a bag containing breakfast. She apologizes for her timing, but reminds him that she is not going to be hiding out in the cottage. She asks him if he has told Skye about her or the situation. He tells her not to worry that he knows exactly what he has to tell Skye.

@ Lakehouse
Skye has changed and is in the middle of setting the table when John and Jane arrive. They excitedly exchange hello’s and the usual, we’re so happy your our daughter in law, etc. They talk about Jax and Skye’s honeymoon to the South of France and Skye asks if there is anything they can bring back for them. Jane asks if she could persuade Jax to take a pit stop in Alaska.

@ Quartermaine’s
Ned has figured out that Edward is trying to gain access to Alexis’s baby by buying his way. Alexis tells him to forget it. Unless his money is being given to her to strictly help with the campaign, she doesn’t need it. She will win on merit. Edward reminds her that in order to win she should do what she should have done long ago and that is marry the baby’s father.

@ Kelly’s (outside)
Jason explains his reasons for being at Courtney’s the night before. Liz apologizes for interrogating him but tells him that she is worried about him and how he is dealing with Sonny’s “death”. He needs to slow down and grieve. Jason tells her that what she is saying is right but he needs to do it this way for now. He tells her that although Liz and Zander don’t seem to be Alcazar’s primary targets anymore, it would still be safer for them at the penthouse. Liz tells Jason that she can’t stay there much longer cause its driving her crazy always wondering if/when Jason will come home or if someone will call her and tell her that he has been shot. Jason tells her that he hates what this is doing to her, but wants her to know that he appreciates the fact the cares about him and worries about him. At this point, Jason takes her hands and Courtney approaches from inside and sees the two of them together.

@ Kelly’s (inside)
We learn that the man Scott took the paper from was Lucky. He starts happily taking pictures of Scott. Bobbie approaches him and tries to get her nephew to see reason. She explains that she understands his anger, but Scott is not the one responsible for Laura’s breakdown or Luke’s confession. He may have been the DA at the time, but he was only doing his job and he even made it possible for Luke to escape. Lucky reminds Bobbie that Scott is ruthless and will step on anyone to get what he wants and he hopes that one day it won’t be her. She tells Lucky that she appreciates his concern, but she is old enough to make her own decisions. Reluctantly, Lucky leaves and tells his aunt not to forget that he warned her. Scott thanks Bobbie for the defence. Alexis and Ned have now arrived and Ned suddenly feels like having Chinese food after having spotted Scott. As Lucky leaves he runs into Alexis and tells her that if she wants anything dirty on Scott than he would happy to help her out. She tells Lucky that she doesn’t his help in that way and promises that she has not given up on Luke.

@ Brenda’s Cottage
Brenda has changed into some clothes and tries to locate a pad of paper and a pen. After finding them she begins to write a letter.

@ Lakehouse
Jax has finally arrived home and greets his new bride and his parents. He apologizes for being late and that he had hoped to be home before Skye woke up, but that he got tied up. Jane can sense that something is up with Jax, but doesn’t say anything in front of Skye. They talk a bit more about the honeymoon and then Jane and Jax go outside. She asks her son if something is wrong. He tells her everything is fine. Jane reminds him how much in love him and Skye are and not to forget it.

@ Kelly’s (outside)
After Jason leaves, Liz begins talking to Courtney about her relationship with him. Liz tells her that she can handle the danger, but she can’t handle the secrets. Courtney suggests that maybe Jason is just trying to protect her, but Liz tells her that that is not the way to do it. Although she is frustrated and ready scream, she tells Courtney that she is not sorry for getting involved with Jason. Courtney tells Liz that she can tells how much Jason means to her and vice versa.

@ Kelly’s (inside)
Alexis approaches Scott and decides that it is a good time to discuss some ground rules. She tells him that it would probably be a good idea to run a clean campaign, no personal attacks or anything like that. Scott agrees but wonders aloud how she will be able to handle being DA and a mother. He starts in on her about her motherly duty to not be working to much, etc. Alexis (starting to get annoyed) asks him when the last time he saw his kids was. Before she can get in a diatribe about working mothers, Ned separates the two and they leave. Bobbie tells Scott that for now she will give him the benefit of the doubt and agrees to meet him later.

@ Alcazar’s
Monica informs her “patient” that she needs certain items from the hospital. She tells the bodyguard what she needs and Alcazar orders him to go and get the items. While they are alone, Alcazar tries to make small talk. He asks her name and recognizes the last name Quartermaine, but only because of Edward.

@ Lakehouse
After John and Jane leave, Jax begins to explain why they have to postpone their honeymoon. He explains who Alcazar is and what is going on, referring to Brenda as an insider. She starts to panic and attempts to call the cops, but Jax stops her and tells her that they can’t do anything, he wants to let Jason handle it. Skye is surprised and Jax explains that Jason will be able to get Alcazar out of the way and they just have to stay out of way for awhile. Skye tells her husband that France is pretty well out of the way, why can’t they just leave? Jax reminds her that Alcazar may follow them and then what will they do? He tells her that he is going to be hiring bodyguards for himself, her and the house and that she is not to leave. She agrees to do things his way, but after telling him for the millionth time how much she loves him, she begs him not get hurt.

@ Brenda’s
Brenda reads the letter she wrote to Jax. Can’t quite remember everything she says, but in a nutshell, she tells him that she is grateful for every moment they spent together. When she left before she didn’t know if he would survive, but now she knows she will because of Skye. She tells him that she wants him to be happy and then she will be happy. She leaves the letter underneath a book on the table and prepares to leave, but sees someone come up to the cottage. She hides in another room and sees Jason enter and he begins looking for clues that she was there.

@ Quartermaine’s
Alan starts to worry because Monica is not answering her cell phone and no one at the hospital can find her. Edward assumes that she is having another affair and begins to tease Alan about. Not bothering to listen, Alan gets up and walks out.

@ Alcazar’s
Alcazar’s man has returned and Monica begins to “treat” her patient. She pulls out a syringe and tells Alcazar that she needs to put him under. He tells her that he can handle the pain. Monica reminds him that one wrong move or involuntary twitch and he will be dead. He agrees. She gives him the needle and just as he goes under, he realizes that Monica is Jason’s mother. Monica is in the middle of the “surgery” when she pauses for a moment. The other guy asks what’s going on. She tells him that the bullet is lodged between arteries and one wrong move and Alcazar won’t live. He tells her simply not to screw up.

@ Kelly’s
Mac approaches Scott as he is leaving the restaurant and Scott wants to know if the PCPD is behind him in the campaign. Mac tells him that he isn’t thrilled with the idea of Sonny’s ex-lawyer running for DA and that is impressed with how Scott handled things. Scott tells Mac, that he needs a big case to give him lots of publicity. Mac tells him that he just might have the right one.

@ Brenda’s
Jax arrives and Jason begins to interrogate him about Brenda’s wherabouts. Jax remains mum. Its pretty obvious that Jason knows Brenda has or is there and tells Jax that now it is up to him to protect the people he cares about. Jason leaves and Jax tells Brenda that its safe to come out. She begins to protest saying that it would be better if her and Alcazar just left. Everything would be easier. Jax disagrees and pulls her into a hug. While in the hug, Brenda tries to get the letter back from its hiding place.

@ Lakehouse
Alan arrives and Skye apologizes for not inviting him to the wedding. She now wishes that she had. Alan marvels at how she looks and she tells him that its all because of Jax. Because of him she actually believes that she is the only woman for him.

ON THE NEXT GENERAL HOSPITAL:

1 – Outside of Kelly’s Scott announces to the press, with Alexis and Ned standing in the background that if the public wants to vote for an unwed mother to be running for DA, who is he to stand in the way?

2 – Monica informs Alcazar that her son will live and he will die.

3 – Carly is talking about a meeting and Sonny tells her that it is not a good idea for her to go alone and he is going with her.

4 - Skye asks Jason if he has any idea where Jax has been going off to because he seems to be disappearing quite a bit.
