General Hospital Update for Friday, 20-Sep-2002

PCPD:
Taggert suspects Lucky is/was Luke’s accomplice in the escape. As he is questioning Lucky, Taggart receives a call from Scott who informs him that Lucky is their prime suspect. When Scott arrives he asks Lucky what he hit him with but Lucky denies any knowledge of the escape. Nik arrives and claims that Lucky was with him at the time of Luke’s escape. Alexis arrives and insists that Scott quit questioning Lucky. Scott then accuses Nik of helping Luke. Alexis gets Scott to admit that HE stopped the van, giving Luke the opportunity to escape. Scott accuses both brothers of being in on the escape but Alexis lies and says they where both with her - discussing the future of Deception, as per Luke's request. Scott insists that Alexis is lying and points out that she could be guilty of a felony. Alexis fires back that Scott is also guilty of a felony-sending an innocent man to jail-and unlike Scott, she CAN prove it. Before leaving Alexis suggests that if Scott really wants to make a name for himself he should go after Sonny's killer.

RESTAURANT:
AJ and Courtney arrive at Skye and Jax's party. Unseen by anyone Roy watches them from behind a newspaper. Monica, Edward and Ned arrive. Ned demands to know that the deal is, but Skye wants everyone present first. Monica makes Alan’s excuses and goes off to try and get a table. AJ confides in Skye that he is going after Michael again and tells her of his deal with Edward. Skye urges him reconsider the deal, make a life with Courtney and be patient about getting Michael back. Meanwhile, Courtney is gushing to anyone who will listen how proud she is that AJ is not taking advantage of Sonny's death to try and get Michael back. Edward mockingly comments on the noble gesture. Courtney tells Edward to step off. Jax takes advantage of the wait time to go step out side. As Roy is about to follow him, he gets a call from Alcazar who instructs Roy to make sure Brenda is not hurt during her ‘capture’. Roy says he can’t guaranty that if Brenda resists. Alcazar orders him to find away or Felicia will pay the price. Skye goes outside in search of Jax who presents her with a single red rose. She thanks him with a kiss. As they head back inside the restaurant Jax hesitates. When Skye questions him, Jax says he thought he heard someone yelling his name. Back inside, AJ confesses that he called an attorney to try and get custody of Michael shortly after hearing of Sonny’s demise. While Courtney looks on is shock, AJ goes on and tells all about his deal with Edward. AJ then announces that he is sorry for being weak enough to give to the temptation and tells Edward the deal is off. He agrees that Michael is better off with his mother. As usual Edward and AJ exchange insults. When AJ says he is ashamed of Edward because of his latest stunt against Skye, Edward retaliates by telling everyone present about AJ’s drinking and driving which resulted in Courtney having to work as a stripper to save his butt from going to jail.

ELSEWHERE:
Nik and Lucky finally catch up with Roy and asks him where Luke has gone. Roy tells Lucky that although Luke did initially ask him for help, he never heard from Luke regarding the details. Lucky realizes that Roy has no idea where Luke is. They agree to keep each other informed if they hear from Luke. As Roy Alexis arrives and scolds Lucky for making her lie to give him an alibi and warns him that she won’t do it again. Alexis goes on to say that Luke’s escape only makes things more complicated Nik finally admits that he was the one who helped Luke escape.

FUNERAL:
Outside the sanctuary door, Brenda pauses as she remembers seeing Sonny gunned down. This gives Jason enough time to arrive on the scene and prevent her from entering. Jason tries to convince Brenda that Alcazar's people could be watching the church and she agrees to go with him. Sonny stops Carly from investigating the noise. Sonny denies knowing who the woman at the church was. He apologizes for putting Carly through such a trying ordeal. Then lies again about Alcazar disappearing. Carly is upset when Sonny says they can't see each other again until the problem is solved-permanently. Later, Bobbie comes in to comfort Carly and asks where Jason is. Carly fobs off any more questions regarding Jason’s whereabouts by insisting that Jason is suffering as much as she is. Carly is touched by Bobbie's words of wisdom and her compassion.

LIMO:
Jason berates Brenda for hitting Benny and is not mollified by Brenda’s concern for the man. When they get stuck in traffic, Jason instructs the driver to cut through a near by hotel parking. Brenda wonders at Jason's apparent coldness regarding Sonny's death. As the car move slowly through the hotel parking lot, Brenda sees Jax (giving Skye a rose) through the window. Brenda starts screaming Jax's name and kicking the car door. Jason holds her back and orders Max to get them out of there fast.

SONNY’S PH:
Liz straightens up as she waits for Carly to return from the funeral parlor. Zander arrives and Liz fills him in on the scene Taggart caused. Zander tells Liz that he plans to leave Jason's place that same night. Liz thinks it's a bad idea, and points out the dangers that still exist to him. They argue over Jason’s abilities to protect them and the lack of details they know, but in the end Zander agrees to stay for a little bit longer. Later, Carly returns and thanks Liz for her efforts. Liz asks about Jason but Carly cannot give her any information. After Liz leaves, Carly convinces Bobbie to leave her alone. She immediately calls Jason and leaves a message saying she needs to finish her conversation with (slight pause) “Benny”. Shortly afterwards the guard announces a visitor. It turns out to be one of Sonny's mob connections that has come to pay his respects. He also wants to discuss business. Carly is outraged at his lack of respect. The man gives her a check for $2 million, as payment for Sonny’s ‘territories’. Carly is insulted since Sonny is worth well over ten times the amount. When he points out Jason’s mysterious absence, she reluctantly takes the check, then tears it up and tells him to go to hell.

PCPD:
Scott stresses to Taggart that he will catch Luke and whom ever helped him escape. Taggert thinks that the upcoming war resulting from Sonny's death is more important. Taggart points out that they have a chance to get rid of the mob in PC, if they team up and work together.

SAFE HOUSE:
Brenda continues to worry over not being able to warn Jax. She finally notices that the window in her room is nailed shut. Jason points out that there are also guards now. Later, Jason enters Brenda’s room when she wakes up screaming from a nightmare.
