General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 4-Sep-2002

@ Alexis’s
Ned shows up as Alexis is trying to get copies of the forensic evidence on the Scorpio attic, but has not luck. She doesn’t want to hear another “stress” lecture from Ned, but he insists that he’s there for another reason, he wants her to represent him.

@ GH
Edward informs an irked Alan that he did what he did to protect the family. If they hadn’t come in when they did he would have died with a smile on his face. Alan can’t believe the lengths he went to destroy Skye. According to Edward, Skye deserved it.

@ Jason’s
Jason is standing at the window when Liz comes down and asks what he’s looking at. He brings her over and places her in front of him. With hands resting on her shoulders, he directs her gaze to Alcazar’s yacht. She wonders aloud what it would be like to own your own yacht. As she is telling Jason where she would go with her own yacht, Zander comes down and interrupts them by telling them that he has remembered something.

@ Alcazar’s
Alcazar finds out that Zander and Liz are under Sonny’s guard. As “Brenda” listens, he vows to end this once and for all and to move against Sonny. After they leave, “Brenda” sneaks in and tries to make a phone call but finds the phone lines disconnected. She searches through the drawers and finds her passport and sneaks away.

@ Sonny’s
Carly comes home and Sonny tells her in no uncertain terms that her and Michael are going to the island until this thing with Alcazar is over. Carly tells Sonny she has four words for him “No way in hell.” Carly refuses to leave and Sonny tries to get her to understand why he needs her to leave. He has to protect her and Michael. He tries the “if you love me, prove it” angle but to no avail. Jason shows up and tells Sonny that Zander has remembered something that he needs to hear. Before Sonny leaves, Carly sarcastically asks if he will be rounding up Courtney and Mike as well and shipping them off to the island. Angrily she goes upstairs and leaves Jason and Sonny to tend to business matters.

@ Alexis’s
After Alexis hands Ned a legal binding document which will give Ned complete control over ELQ and Edward only voting rights, Ned tells her that although he is out of practice he is the best person to manage his family. He admits that this will also give him the resources to break Sonny. Alexis asks if this is about protecting the baby or revenge against Kristina. He tells her its both.

@ GH
Alan goes through his “you’re a selfish, despicable old man” routine with Edward, who returns with the usual “if you had been better parents” routine. Monica enters and tells him to can it. They may be bad parents but they would never attempt to frame their own child for murder. They continue their usual Quartermaine family banter.

@ Jason’s
Zander tells Sonny that he remembers 2 guys and a woman who claimed to be a friend. He can’t remember a face, only the voice. Sonny tells him that he needs to remember everything so he (Sonny) can take down Alcazar. Zander asks Sonny if he did something to him. Sonny is curious as to why he is asking. Zander tells him its because it seems like you don’t like me. Sonny tells Zander that although he has made mistakes and bad choices, he has influential friends who helped him. Yes, he did do something to Sonny, but now he is helping him, so if this plays out into Sonny’s favor than all debts are cleared.
Out in the hallway Jason suggests to Sonny that its time he goes on board the yacht to look around. Sonny agrees and tells him that if he finds what Alcazar is hiding, to take it if he can.
Inside Jason’s apartment, Zander is scoffing at Sonny’s behaviour. He tells Liz that he doesn’t trust either Jason or Sonny and thinks he would be better off on his own. Will you go with me? He asks.

@ GH
Ned and Alexis show up and Ned passes the contract to Edward who laughs it off. Ned tells him not to brush it off so easily. He pulls out a signed form, by Lila, that will have him committed to a mental hospital unless he signs the contract. Based on his recent “suicide” attempt, the courts will see Edward as unfit. Unless he signs the form, he will be put into a hospital for a long rest.

@ Sonny’s
Carly and Sonny continue to argue about her leaving. While she admits that it would safer for Michael to be on the island, she will not leave him. It may not be safe for her, but its not safe for him either. He has no right to decide how she will risk her life. She is an adult and can make her own decisions.

@ Alcazar’s
Alcazar is on the phone to someone telling them to forget about Jax. Sonny is more of a threat. The nurse comes in and tells him that “Brenda” has disappeared.

@ Jason’s
Dressed head to toe in black, Jason comes down and prepares to leave for his mission. Liz asks him if he’s going on the yacht. He tells her to just stay there and keep Zander calm. She tells him that she can’t do that knowing Jason is out there dealing with killers. He reminds her that this is his job and he is good at it. He promises her that he will be back. Liz reaches out and grabs his hand and tells him he better be right about that. After Jason leaves Zander comes down and wants to know why Liz didn’t tell him that she was in love with Jason.

@ GH
Alexis and Ned explain further what will happen to Edward if he doesn’t sign the paper. There are two professional doctors present who are willing to attest that Edward is not of his right mind, Alexis reminds him. Ned thinks his options are pretty clear: 1) Prison 2) Hospital 3) Early Retirement.

@ Sonny’s
Michael is asking Sonny why he can’t come with them to the island and wishes that his dad didn’t have to work so much. Sonny tells his son that he works so much for two reasons, to make sure his family has everything the want or need and to make sure that when Michael is older he won’t have to work like him. Michael starts to ask more questions, but Carly tells him that sometimes they have to trust that dad knows what’s best and that even though they might not like it or understand it they have to do what he wants. Johnny comes in takes Michael to the car. Sonny tells Carly that he will take care of this and will come and get her and Michael and bring them home.

@ Alexis’s
Ned and Alexis are toasting to his victory over Edward. Alexis tells him that Edward could have gotten 10 years for attempting to frame Skye. They wonder what she would have done with that information, but Ned assures her that he would just dig up some information on her and blackmail her into not pressing charges. Edward shows up and congratulates Ned for playing right into his hand.

@ Jason’s
As Liz is patiently watching out the window, Zander is playing pool. He asks her how long she plans on staying there. She responds by saying, until Jason comes back. Angrily Zander wants to know why Liz lied to him and didn’t tell him Jason was her boyfriend. Liz tells him that Jason is not her boyfriend and that she is not sure what they are to each other. She reminds him that he used to hate Jason and their relationship. He thinks again that he would be better off alone than taking help from someone he used to hate. Liz tells him that’s his choice, but reminds that he’s lost his memory and that people are trying to kill him and that he has made bad decisions before that almost got him killed and she won’t go with him and watch him do it again.

@ Alcazar’s
Jason sneaks aboard the yacht and in seconds finds Alcazar’s office. He begins searching through drawers, but hears someone coming in. He hides and listens as Alcazar makes a phone call and explains that “Brenda” is missing, she has id but no money and has not contacted anyone. He orders another search of the yacht incase she is still aboard.

@ Sonny’s
Sonny comes home and sits in the dark for a few minutes. We see someone (from the waist down) come down the stairs. Sonny calls out and asks who’s there.

@ Jason’s
Zander tells Liz that’s he’s decided not to run, but that she is making him nervous standing there, so why don’t they play a game of pool. Liz tells how that used to drive her crazy, how he could be a write off one minute and sweet the next. Zander asks Liz (jokingly) if she likes him. She says she does, but not the way she cares about Jason. She tells Zander that if she loves Jason, she can’t bring herself to admit it. She wants to be with him when she’s not. Admits that Jason’s life is dangerous and that Jason doesn’t seem to want her in it. She compares their relationship to a rollercoaster and something that can’t go on forever, although she wants it to.

@ Alexis’s
Ned and Alexis listen amused as Edward goes on and on about how they finally have a true Quartermaine heir raised by a Quartermaine and won’t get near Sonny. Alexis reminds him that her baby’s last name will be Davis, but Edward tells her that its not the last name that counts, it’s the upbringing.

@ Sonny’s
Carly comes down the stairs and Sonny can’t understand why she’s not on the plane. He watched her get on. She says she did but only to tell Michael why she couldn’t go with them. She tells Sonny that she WILL NOT leave him alone to deal with this. When this is over, THEY will go and bring Michael home.

@ Alcazar’s
Alcazar comes back and is informed that “Brenda” was hiding below deck, but that she is now locked in his cabin. They rush off to hide the passports in his safe. Jason emerges and goes directly to the cabin. He tries to get in, but “Brenda” rushes to intercept and blocks the door. Jason tells her to back away from the door and that he is there to help her. The camera fades up and we FINALLY see Brenda as she whispers Jason’s name!

ON THE NEXT GENERAL HOSPITAL

1) Bobbie urges Luke not to sign the confession.
2) A “disturbed” Laura pleads with Scott to get her out of the hospital
3) Jax tells Alexis the mystery man’s identity.
4) Sonny tells Carly that Jason is taking care of something for him
5) A hidden Brenda listens as Jason tells her that he is there to help.
