General Hospital Update for Friday, 30-Aug-2002

OUTSIDE OF THE OASIS:
AJ gets all over Jason’s case for making the arson charge disappear. Jason tells AJ that he personally couldn't care less if AJ spent the next 20 years in jail, but Courtney is Sonny’s sister, and SHE asked him to help, so he did. AJ continues to be less than grateful. Jason finally gets sick and tired of his brother's whining, and lays into A.J. Jason accuses AJ of destroying everything he touches, which now includes Courtney. Jason finishes by telling AJ that the best thing he can do for Courtney is to set her free.

SCORPIO/JONES HOME:
Laura returns to the attic where she imagines Rick and Teresa encouraging her to get ready for her ‘big day’. She dons her ruined old wedding gown but in her mind she sees only the way she should look. Luke finally arrives and realizing that Laura is on the verge of a total breakdown plays along with her delusions. Luke pretends that everything is normal and recites some very touching vows. Laura’s vows are more traditional but she falters towards the end and gets very upset. Luke lovingly reassures her that her vows were prefect. With the ‘ceremony’ over, Luke tries to bring Laura back to reality. He succeeds as Laura remembers striking Rick over the head with the candlestick. She admits that she is very scared and doesn’t know what to do. Luke encourages her to trust him and go away with him until they can decide what to do next. Laura clings to Luke and assures him that she does love and trust him because he always makes her feel safe. Luke starts to lead Laura towards the door, but suddenly Scott and Mac are there.

AJ & COURTNEY’S APT:
Carly ties to convince Courtney that Sonny really cares about her. Courtney unburdens some of her problems on Carly, but does not agree that she made a mistake in marrying AJ. Carly asks her if she really wants to spend the rest of her life with AJ. Courtney tells Carly to leave.

DOCKS:
Sonny asks Jax if he is now in cahoots with Alcazar himself. Jax retorts that everything does not revolve around Sonny and admits that Alcazar has made a move against him too. At Sonny’s prompting, Jax explains about the stolen oil map and Alcazar’s offer to return it, if Jax will leave town permanently. Sonny wonders why Alcazar cares where Jax lives. Jax asks if they are making idle chit-chat or if they are working towards combining their resources to go after Alcazar. In typical fashion, Sonny ridicules, “Candy Boy” for letting Alcazar get the best of him. Sonny then appears to bite off his nose to spite his face, when he tells Jax that he won’t team up to go after Alcazar.

KELLY’S:
Nik meets up with Gia and starts to explain about his call from Luke. Lucky arrives and the conversation changes to weather or not Luke would really hurt Laura. As Lucky defends his father, Scott bursts through the door and accuses Nik of tipping off Luke so he could escape. In the middle of his rampage, Mac calls and tells Scott that Luke’s car was spotted on the outskirts of town. Scott tells Mac he will be right there. With a warning to Nik that he is not off the hook, Scott takes off. Lucky turns his anger on Nik and demands an explanation of Scott’s accusation.


LAKEHOUSE:
A dejected looking Jax returns and listlessly goes through his mail. Alexis arrives and tells Jax she needs to talk with him about something important. She asks if Jax knows where Skye is; Jax comments that he doesn’t care. Alexis tells Jax that Skye is in deep trouble as she is the top suspect in the case of whom pulled the plug on Edward’s life support. Alexis explains that Alan has retained her as Skye’s attorney and Jax says that Skye will need the best attorney-which Alexis is. Alexis comments that Jax still loves Skye.

COURTNEY & AJ’s APT:
AJ packs a bag and starts to leave. Courtney returns home and AJ tells her he's leaving her. Courtney turns on the waterworks and begs AJ to give another chance. AJ gives in but makes her promise to always come to him first whenever there is a problem.

CORINTHOS’ PH:
Carly returns and tells Sonny’ that she visited Courtney and they had a chat. Sonny asked if Courtney had realized that AJ was no good for her. Carly, unwilling to tell Sonny that Courtney asked Jason to help AJ, hedges and says that though Courtney didn’t actually say that, she took the first step by admitting that AJ isn’t all that. Sonny says it doesn’t matter because AJ will soon be behind bars. Jason returns and begins to report to Sonny about the night’s events. A phone call distracts him and Carly take the opportunity to tell Jason NOT to tell Sonny what he did just yet. Jason refuses to lie to Sonny. Carly makes herself scarce and Jason tells Sonny that AJ is not going to jail because he made the arson charge go away by bribing Coleman. Jason tries to explain to Sonny that Courtney asked him to help AJ, but Sonny is enraged by Jason’s actions. Sonny accuses Jason of helping his enemy and, (reminding Jason of the unauthorized offer he made to Zander) questions not only Jason’s loyalty, but his ability to do his job too.
