General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 28-Aug-2002

I would call today’s episode “What If” because it was said about 50 times.

Lucky's boarding room

Nik is on the phone with his mother who is begging him to come get her. Nik can hear Luke in the background trying to get to Laura and from Laura's reaction she desperately trying to get away from him.
Lucky hangs up the phone and an incredulous Nik asks why he did that, a few moments longer and he would have known where Laura was. Lucky reminds him that the phones are tapped and he doesn’t want Scott to find out where Laura is. Nik argues that Luke is holding Laura hostage.

PCPD

Taggert informs Scott that he wasn’t able to trace the call. Scott berates Taggert and tells him that they have to get to Laura because Luke is keeping her against her will.

A barn somewhere

Luke tries to convince Laura that they can’t have the police find them because they are on the run (like the old times). Laura isn’t convinced and tells him she’s not safe with him and begs him (like a whiney child) to let her see her children.

Alexis’

Alexis is on the phone with a judge telling him about Scott’s behavior. Jax knocks at the door and asks her to be his lawyer. He explains that the same person that is after Sonny is also after him. He tells her Roy stole his map for the oil dig and gave it to the mystery man. Alexis asks him if maybe Skye did it.

Oasis strip club

Sonny pushes AJ into the club and points to Courtney. Sonny tells Jason to make sure Courtney gets home ok after whatever disaster is going to happen. A very confident Courtney struts her stuff on stage and taunts the clientele (at this point she hasn’t seen AJ starring at her). AJ goes berserk and tells her to get off the stage and come home with him. Coleman gets in AJ’s face and Courtney begs AJ to go. AJ (in a heart wrenching way) pleads/tells her he won’t go without her. Courtney still tells him to leave and Jason drags him out. The crowd cheers.

Lucky’s boarding room

Nik tells Lucky that Laura is danger from Luke. Lucky tells Nik he must have misunderstood, Luke would never hurt Laura. Nik wants to go to the police but Lucky warns that Scott will press murder charges on all of them if they do that. Lucky suggests that maybe Laura is loosing her mind (with all that’s happened) and Luke is just trying to protect her.

PCPD

Taggert is still trying to convince Scott that the call was untraceable since it was made from a cell phone. Scott tells him that Luke is holding Laura hostage and that they have to put out an APB and find them.
Taggert is still unconvinced, so Scott makes him listen to the phone tap.

The barn

Luke begs Laura to trust him. She tells him she’s scared and runs into his arms.

Alexis’

Alexis and Jax go back and forth with the fact that Skye may have taken the map. Jax says he still has to protect himself from whoever did it. Ned walks in and they confer about who could possibly be after both Sonny and Jax. Ned tells him whoever it is, let him destroy Sonny.

Corinthos Penthouse

Sonny walks in to see Michael asleep on Carly’s lap. He wanted to make sure his daddy was okay. Sonny carries Michael to his bed.

Oasis strip club

Coleman thanks Jason for getting rid of AJ. Jason informs Coleman that Courtney is Sonny’s sister and that she won’t be stripping anymore and that whatever deal they had is over. Jason tells Courtney that she can leave. She tells him she has to keep going for her husband. Jason says everything is ok, she can leave. He carries a distraught Courtney away in his arms (he looked like he was having trouble keeping her up ). The crowd boos.

Alexis’

Ned tells Jax he should just cut his losses and let the Mystery man take care of Sonny. Jax leaves pondering this.

Corinthos Penthouse

AJ barges in to Sonny’s place demands to know how long he knew Courtney was stripping. Verbal attacks back and forth: AJ blaming Sonny for letting Courtney degrade herself; Carly spewing out that it’s AJ’s fault; AJ telling Carly the best line EVER “You know, you are the one who should be up on that stage stripping, the slut that you are.” (Priceless). Blah, blah, blah: you did it, no you did it (if this not detailed enough, please refer to all the other postings that involve Carly, Sonny and AJ)…

Courtney and AJ’s apartment

Courtney is distraught because she only had a few weeks left to strip and blames Jason for destroying all her efforts to keep her secret from AJ and hurting him. She wants to know why he did it. She’s sure that AJ hates her.

Corinthos Penthouse

Sonny says AJ keeps hurting Courtney, that he fails her as a husband. AJ says he would never hurt her deliberately. Blah, blah back and forth again…Sonny demeans AJ when he tries to leave the penthouse by telling him he didn’t give him permission yet.

Lucky’s boarding room

Gia, Nik and Lucky are trying to figure out Laura’s state of mind. Lucky suggest that maybe it was Laura who killed Rick and Luke saw it happen…

The barn

Laura now seems to be back to normal until she mentions that she and Luke still have a wedding to do and since Rick came all this way just to give her way. Luke tells her that can’t happen.

PCPD

Scott is about to hold a press conference.
Jax comes in to speak to Taggert. Taggert tells him he’s trying to find Skye and asks Jax if he would know her whereabouts. Jax tells him he knows nothing since they are no longer together. Taggert informs him that Skye is the prime suspect for pulling Edward’s ventilator.

Lucky’s boarding room

Lucky gets a call (from who?) informing him to turn on the tv. The see Scott informing the press that they found more evidence on Rick’s murder and that a warrant has been issued for Luke for the murder and for kidnapping Laura. The gang deduces that Scott heard the earlier phone call.

The barn

Laura asks Luke why they won’t have the wedding. Luke tells her Rick is dead. She says he not, that he’s going to give her away. Luke tells her that Rick died in the attic. Laura freaks out, trying to deny it…

Alexis’

Alexis tells Ned she still feels a loyalty to Sonny and that she still feels like she has to warn him of the Mystery man but she won’t because her child will be safer if the Mystery man wins and Sonny is left powerless.

Corinthos Penthouse

Carly comes down the stairs and finds Sonny starring out the window. She tells him she loves him and goes back upstairs.

Courtney and AJ’s apartment

Courtney asks if the phone rang while she was in the shower. Jason says no. She begs him to go find AJ before he does something stupid, as he is surely drunk by now. He tells her that he was told to guard her. She keeps begging.

Oasis strip club

We see a drunk AJ coming in the closed bar. He throws some bottles around and then sets the stage on fire (very controlled one at that). He slumps down in the middle of the flames.

On the next General Hospital

Sonny tells Carly that the Oasis burned downed last night. Carly asks if it’s arson and Sonny tells her to ask Courtney’s husband.

Jax meets Alcazar and tells him he looks familiar.

Laura remembers that she’s the one who killed Rick.
