General Hospital Update for Monday, 26-Aug-2002

Another interesting Monday! I apologize if its all over the place!

@ General Hospital
Skye wakes up to the sound of Edward’s life support machine beeping. A nurse is heard calling for a code blue and asking for Monica and Alan.(the camera angles to show the plug out of the socket) Startled, Skye bolts out of the room before anyone can see her. Monica and Alan arrive seconds after Skye has bolted.
After quick maneuvers, Monica comes out of the room and tells Alan that Edward is stabilized but they still don’t know how long he was unplugged for. A nurse approaches the Q’s and tells them that someone pulled the plug on Edward. Alan can’t believe that someone would murder his father. They ask if she saw anyone. The nurse responds by saying that all her attention was focused on Edward, but that she did she a woman with red hair run out of the room. Alan can’t believe that it was Skye, but Monica asks him what he will do if it was.

@ PCPD
Scott asks Alexis why he would have anything to do with that person. Holding the skull like a prized trophy, Alexis reminds him that it is Theresa Carter and explains her theory that he killed Rick to cover up Theresa’s murder being discovered and Rick was blackmailing him. She tells Scott all she knows about the attic thing, which is everything. Scott asks Alexis that if he killed Rick why are Luke and Laura on the run? Alexis explains the definition of being “on the run” and “missing” to the DA. She tells Scott that she has more circumstantial evidence on him than he does on Lucky and that if he doesn’t release her client, she will make sure that the skull ends up on Mac’s desk and then he will be the center of yet another murder case, but this time as a prime suspect.
A few minutes later Scott tells Alexis that he has released Lucky ROR, but that he is still to remain available and he wants Lucky’s passport. Alexis agrees and waving the bag in front of Scott’s face (with the skull inside) tells the DA that as long as he doesn’t arrest Lucky again, she will keep quiet about the skull. Scott reminds her that if he finds evidence pointing directly at Lucky he will arrest him again. Alexis and Lucky depart before he changes his mind. Lucky wonders how Alexis pulled it off. “Let’s just say I know where all the bodies are buried” she tells him. Lucky finds it hard to believe that Scott would just let it go this easily. Alexis assures him that this is only the beginning.
Taggert approaches Scott and can’t understand why he would let Lucky go so easily after all the work he put into arresting him. Scott tells him that he is really after Luke, not Lucky, gee as if I didn’t know that, is the look on Taggert’s face. Scott tells Taggert that Lucky will lead them straight to Luke and therefore he wants round the clock surveillance on Lucky and when Luke resurfaces, they will grab him.

@ Kelly’s (inside)
The fisherman tells Liz that he doesn’t know how long Zander’s been in the water. She thanks him for his help and leads Zander to a table after the fisherman leaves. Zander tells Liz that he has no idea who she is and asks her what his name is. After examination, Liz discovers that Zander has been hit on the head really hard. She wants to take him to a hospital, but Zander doesn’t want to go. He agrees to talk. He asks Liz if he likes to sail or if he made someone mad enough to try and kill him. One of Alcazar’s henchmen enters the dinner and spies Liz and Zander together.

@ Alcazar’s
“Brenda” is listening to a frantic Carly try and find out who is on the phone. When “Brenda” doesn’t respond, Carly think that its someone who has Michael and begs with them to give him back saying she will do anything. Alcazar approaches and hangs up the phone. He asks “Brenda” who she’s calling. He tells her that he is not policing her but stopping her from doing something she will regret which is apparently what she asked him to do. He tells “Brenda” that there is NO ONE in Port Charles that she wants to speak to. Alcazar slips out and receives a phone call from his henchman telling him that Zander is still alive and is with Liz at Kelly’s. Alcazar tells him that Zander knows too much. He says that if Zander tells Liz anything and if Liz tells Jason, everything will be over. He orders the man to eliminate them both.

Back @ Kelly’s (inside)
As Liz is trying to give Zander more information about himself, ie, living in Florida, working with Sonny, dating Emily, Alcazar’s man reenters and sits at a table across form them. He holds a gun between his legs and points it at the two. Zander can’t understand why everyone hated him so much. He asks Liz what he does wrong. She tells him that he has a temper and sometimes doesn’t think before he acts, which gets him into trouble. Zander remembers being on a yacht, but nothing else. Liz tells him that they are going to the hospital and as they are walking over to the counter a baseball or soccer team enters blocking the hit man’s view of Liz and Zander.

Kelly’s (outside)
AJ asks Michael who Sonny’s going to hurt and asks if maybe they can stop him together. Michael calls AJ a liar because he thinks Sonny’s bad. AJ tells Michael that he does think Sonny is bad and that HE is his father not Sonny. Again, Michael calls him a liar and tells him angrily that Sonny Corinthos is his father. AJ tells him that no matter what Carly and Sonny tell him, he is his father and one day he will be old enough to figure it out for himself. He then thinks aloud that maybe its time Michael learned the truth about Sonny. AJ tells Michael that Carly and Sonny haven’t been honest with him because they don’t want him to remember AJ. He asks Michael if he remembers living with Carly and AJ and going swimming in the lake. Michael tells AJ that Sonny, his father, takes him swimming and orders AJ to leave him alone. AJ agrees and then asks if anyone knows he is down here cause he shouldn’t be out alone. AJ asks Michael if he can take him no. Michael yells no that he has to find his daddy and rushes off with AJ close behind.

@ The Pier
Jason and Sonny are discussing the blurry photograph of “Brenda”. They try to figure out what it is that Alcazar has that Sonny wants more than anything. Sonny figures it has to be family because he is not an art collector and it’s not about money. He names the people he cares about, Carly, Michael, Jason, Courtney, Mike (leaving out Brenda), but everyone is accounted for. Jason reminds Sonny that there is round the clock surveillance on Alcazar and that Alcazar knows Sonny is watching him. Sonny again asks Jason to find out everything he can about the mystery lady because they might be able to use her to get to Alcazar if she is his weakness.
Later, Michael arrives calling out for Sonny with AJ close behind. Michael tells AJ to leave him alone, but AJ says he just wants to take him home. Michael says no that his daddy will be coming here. AJ decides that they should wait together. He asks Michael why he thinks Sonny would hurt someone, did he hear or see something? Michael tells him that Sonny would never hurt anyone, but AJ tells him that Sonny does hurt people.
AJ tries to explain Sonny’s behaviour in kids terms to Michael. He compares Sonny to the school bully who likes to take things without asking and that it hurts people and makes them sad, except it doesn’t make Sonny sad. Jason show up and tells Michael that everyone is looking for him and that he’s come to take him home. AJ informs his brother that Michael does not want to go home so Jason should just turn around and let him be with his son. He tells Jason that Michael has questions and he has answers.
After, calling Sonny and Carly, Jason tries to keep things calm when AJ starts to loose it in front of Michael. AJ tells his brother to go ahead and explain the meaning of fatherhood, this should be good from someone who stole my son. Jason explains to Michael that a father is someone who loves you no matter what, who thinks of you before anyone else. A father protects you, teaches you things and would never, ever use you like you were a thing to be pawned. AJ is pissed by now and wants Jason to explain to Michael how he stole him from AJ and put him in the hands of a criminal. Michael asks Jason if he stole him. Jason responds by saying that a long time ago, he promised Michael that he would always be loved and protected. AJ demands to know what happened, how is Sonny protecting Michael when he is down here in the middle of the night alone to try and stop him from hurting someone?
Angrily AJ tells Jason that he had to know the day would come when Michael would start asking questions. He tells his brother that he (meaning Jason) doesn’t have the guts to tell Michael who Sonny really is. Jason asks Michael if he wants truth. Michael says yes, so Jason tells him that Sonny is the best man that Jason has ever known and that he is the best father. Sonny and Carly show up as AJ is urging Jason to tell Michael what he really does for a living, that him and Sonny are in the business of making people die. After quick hugs and kisses, Michael asks Sonny if he makes people die.

@ Sonny’s Penthouse
Johnny shows up and tells Carly that he’s looked everywhere for Michael but he’s not anywhere in the building. Freaking out Carly can’t understand what good all the security will do if someone can just come in off the street and take her child. Johnny suggests that maybe Michael just wandered away. She tells Johnny about the strange phone call and thinks that they have her son.
Later, Sonny comes home and asks Carly how long Michael’s been gone. Carly tells him about 2 hours and then explains how she had gone upstairs to talk on the phone and when she came down Michael was missing. She tells Sonny about the phone call and tells her husband her fear that someone has stolen Michael. Sonny tells her to calm down and that they will find Michael they just have to first figure out if he left on his own or if someone took him. Carly tells him about Michaels’ questions about boats and harbors and Sonny comes to the realization that somehow Michael must have overheard him threaten Alcazar to Jason. He quickly begins retracing his steps and they soon discover the hidden video camera.
They watch Michael’s viedo of him telling Sonny how much he loves him. Carly interrupts the tape and tells Sonny that she took him to the paint store. Sonny continues the tape and they soon overhear Sonny tell Jason that if Alcazar comes after him he will send that boat down into the harbor with everyone in it. Shocked, Carly tells Sonny that they can try to explain it to Michael that he is too young to understand everything. But Sonny assures her that he is not, after all he asked all those questions about boats. Sonny receives a phone call from Jason who tells him that he is at the Pier with Michael and that Michael is fine but that AJ is there and claims that Michael doesn’t want to go home. Jason thinks it would be a good idea if the two of them came to get him. Sonny relays the message to Carly and they take off to the Pier.

@ The Lakehouse
Sitting alone in the dark, Skye is waiting for Jax to arrive. When he does and he spots her, he wants nothing more to do with her and orders her to leave. She begs him to stay and tells him that she thinks she has done something terrible. Jax tells her that he is not interested in playing her white knight anymore, that she is the queen of self-destruction and he wants nothing to do with her. He can smell the liquor on her breath. She starts to blame Edward for everything that has happened regarding the whole contract affair, but Jax won’t hear it. Skye knew what Edward was capable of yet she still went along with him anyway. She wanted to believe that he (Jax) was cheating on her so she could go after what she really wanted, ELQ. Frustrated and angry, Skye tells him that she doesn’t want ELQ anymore, she loves him completely and she tried to get out of the contract, but Edward wouldn’t let her. Jax accuses her of stealing the map and then sending half of it back to him without caring that it would destroy his family and everything they have. She tries to justify her reasons explaining her hatred for Edward is so strong, she actually stood over the bed and begged him to die. She then confesses to her ex that she thinks she have killed him by unplugging his life support.
Jax phones the hospital and finds out that Edward is doing fine. He tells her that even now he wants to believe her but she has destroyed any trust that they ever had. He asks her that they not drag this out any longer and asks that she be gone when he gets back.
Later, Skye, who has finally changed clothes, receives a phone call from Lieutenant Taggert. With Alan standing close by, Taggert tells Skye that he has some questions for her but that an explanation would best be done in person. He tells her that he will be over there shortly.

@ General Hospital
Tony has just finished examining Zander and tells them that he has a very serious head injury. He asks Zander if he is on any drugs. When asked why, Tony explains that some of the symptoms may indicate drug use, but Zander doesn’t remember taking anything. Liz asks if its possible Zander was poisoned. Tony doesn’t think so. He tells Zander to take it easy, not to force anything and to come back and see him in a few days.
With a not so bright hit man lurking around and keeping an eye on them, Zander and Liz move into the waiting room. Liz urges Zander to try and remember his last steps. He can only come up with the yacht and a woman. As Zander explains that the woman had a lot of questions, a shot rings out and the glass vase on the table beside them bursts into pieces and Zander immediately jumps into protective mode and covers Liz. When the coast is seemingly clear, Zander tells Liz that he agrees with Liz that someone maybe after him to murder him. (okay, on a side note, this guy (the hitman) is not smart, not only is trying to kill them in a public place, but he is also trying to kill them in a HOSPITAL! Hello! Not too swift that guy) Okay sorry about that.

@Kelly’s (Lucky’s Room)
Alexis and Lucky arrive at his room and she tells him to thank his brother for getting him out of jail. Because of the whole attic thing, Alexis explains that Scott is susceptible to blackmail and that is why he got released, but that still doesn’t explain why Lucky would cover up the body and take blame for it. Alexis begs her client to stay out of trouble. Shortly after she leaves, Lucky receives a surprise phone call from none other than Luke. Lucky tells him that Scott is out to frame him for Rick’s murder. Luke tells him he knows all about the attic and says that he read Lucky got arrested, is he okay. Lucky says yea, but he wants to help. Luke tells him not to do anything and remain quiet. Lucky starts to ask about Laura and what really happened when suddenly Luke hangs up the phone.

@PCPD
Taggert walks into the interview room to tell Scott that he is going to interview a witness but Scott urges him to stay and he plays back the taped phone conversation Lucky had with Luke. Taggert assumes aloud that Scott got a court order for that wiretap. Scott informs the Lieutenant that this is why he released Lucky, because he knew he would lead him straight to Luke.

ON THE NEXT GENERAL HOSPITAL

1) Scott to Taggert: “When it comes to Luke nothing matters! We go after him with everything!”

2) Luke to a gagged Laura: “We have to be quiet. We have enemies.”

3) Nikolas to Lucky: “Did he say anything about mom?”
Lucky to Nikolas: “No, didn’t mention her.”

4) Sonny to AJ: “Do you have any idea what I could do to you right now, with only Jason standing here?”
