General Hospital Update for Thursday, 22-Aug-2002

Michael asks questions when the mother of one of his friends cuts short their play date after learning Carly and Michael have moved back in with Sonny. Carly handles the woman in a mature manner then tries to explain to Michael why people act the way they do around Sonny. When Carly goes upstairs for a phone conversation with the decorator Michael videotapes a loving message on the camera for Sonny. Carly comes downstairs and rushes him out the door to pick up some decorating supplies. Michael puts the camera down but doesn’t turn it off…

The nurse once again talked to Zander about Sonny and Jax while the ‘boss woman’ listened at the door. After hearing Zander says that both men were happy in their current relationships the (still unseen) woman walked away from the door.

Elsewhere, Sonny and Jason cornered Alcazar and one of his men as they stepped off the elevator. Sonny asked what Alcazar had that he thinks Sonny wants. Sonny warned Alcazar to get out of town but Alcazar refused to back down.

Later, Sonny and Jason are on the docks spying on Alcazar’s yacht and discussing what he has that he thinks Sonny wants so much. Jason sees the ‘woman’ enter the room and speak to Alcazar (but as usual it is only from the back). He passes the binoculars to Sonny but by the time Sonny takes a look the woman is nowhere to be seen. Sonny orders Jason to find out EVERYTHING he can about Mr. Alcazar and his female friend.

Meanwhile, on the yacht, Zander demands to speak with Mr. Alcazar. The nurse warns him that if he is seen or overheard he will be killed. But, it’s too late because Alcazar is eavesdropping at the door. As soon as the nurse leaves Alcazar enters the room and questioned Zander. Zander starts to give out all the inside info he has on Sonny’s business, but once again he is disappointed when Alcazar only wants to know what he told the nurse. Zander confessed that the nurse was asking on her mistress’ behalf and that it was mostly information about the personal lives of Sonny and Jax. Zander asked if Alcazar was going after the two men because of a woman. Alcazar confided that he was going to destroy Sonny and Jax because they where a link to his woman’s past that he need to severe to earn her respect. Zander offered his services, but Alcazar coldly refused them then told Zander that he was now a link between his woman and her past and he had to be eliminated.

At Edward’s bedside, Skye begged him to tell her where the copies of the contract where. Outside the room Jax chastised Monica (and Alan) for treating Skye so harshly. Meanwhile, Petra delivered a copy of the contract and a note from Edward to Ned. The note instructed Ned to use the contract to get rid of Skye. Ned headed straight for Edward’s room. Jax finished a phone conversation with his father just as Ned arrived. Ned tried to give the contract to Jax but Jax was in a hurry and waved him off. Ned visited with Edward and told him that he had the contract and was going to use it. Skye overheard and pleaded with Ned. She tried to convince him that she made a mistake when she signed the contract. She explained that Edward had manipulated her into signing the contract and that when she asked him to release her he refused. Ned speculated that Edward and Skye struggled over the contract at the party and that was why Edward had a stroke. Skye begged Ned believe that she no longer wanted ELQ and for him to tear up the contract. Ned refused to back off though. When Jax returned Skye asked Ned to let her tell him about the contract. Once they were alone in Edward’s room, Skye confessed what she had done. Jax was upset and stunned by Skye’s betrayal and refused to listen to her explanation of the circumstances.

Meanwhile, Monica finds Alan going over Edward’s medical records. She asks him if he is considering taking Edward off of life support. Alan admits that although he has wanted to kill Edward lots of times over the years, he wants Edward to recover so they can go back to arguing – like normal.

Sonny and Jason return to the PH. Sonny sits on the sofa and tells Jason that if Alcazar doesn’t back off he will send the yacht and anyone on it to the bottom of the harbor. Neither man notices the video camera on the coffee table pointed directly at where Sonny is sitting. Carly and Michael returned and the conversation changed. Later, when Carly and Sonny went upstairs, Michael picked up the camera and played back the recording of Sonny threatening Alcazar.
