General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 21-Aug-2002

Oasis Strip Club

Jason asks Courtney is she's ok (after almost being grabbed by a client). He tries to get her to go home. She demands to know if her Sonny asked Jason to keep an eye on her.

Hospital ICU

Skye is staring at the respirator plug that is keeping Edward alive. Tony reports to Monica, Allan, AJ, Skye and Jax of Edward's critical condition He's in on a respirator and they are still waiting on tests and such. He asks them to consider taking Edward off life support.

Attic

Alexis confronts Scott about what happened in the attic and the role he played in it 20 years ago. She tells him she finds it interesting that he was appointed interim DA. She shows him the picture of him with a bloody shirt and asks him to explain it.

Oasis Strip Club

Coleman asks Courtney if she's ok. He thanks Jason. Jason wants to keep talking to Courtney. Coleman tells him that if he wants to talk to her, he has to pay for a table dance. Jason gives Coleman the money and Courtney agrees to do so.

Attic

Scott says that the stain is probably motor oil or juice and that he can't remember exactly when it happened. Alexis implies that Scott has been covering up a crime for 20 years and that maybe Rick might have been blackmailing Scott. Scott tells her that he thinks that Lucky is covering for Luke. Alexis suggests that Scott is using Lucky to keep the attention away from him. Scott walks away. Alexis is still determined to get at the bottom of the situation.

Quartermain house

Ned reassures Lila about Edward's condition. Lila asks Ned to take over ELQ. Edward's personal assistant, Petra, brings in Edward ELQ paperwork. Ned accepts the offer. Petra gives Ned "the contract", without looking, he tells her he will look at it later.

GH ICU

Allan says it's too soon to take Edward off life support. Monica and Allan tell Jax that his plans to take over ELQ are probably the reason Edward became ill. Skye tells AJ that she’s worried about Edward. Monica doesn’t believe her saying that it was Skye’s plan to take over the company and now that Edward may die, it makes everything perfect for her. Skye denies ever wanting Edward dead. She doesn't want the company because she's in love with Jax. Monica announces that Skye won’t ever get her hands on ELQ because Lila is giving the controls over to Ned as they speak. Skye exasperated that no one believes her tells Jax she needs to be alone and leaves.

AJ asks Monica and Allan why he should care if Edward dies after all the crap he put him through. Allan tells AJ that he has to take responsibility for his own life. AJ tells Allan that Edward undermined every choice he ever made and threw him and his wife out on the street. He tells Allan that Edward also made his life hell and it show.

Oasis Strip Club

She starts to dance and Jason tells her to stop, he just wants to talk. He tells her he's there to guard her on Sonny's orders. She tells him she doesn't need his help. Jason tells her that if she doesn't agree to this, Sonny will close down the club. Courtney agrees to let Jason tag along.

PCPD

Scott asks Taggert if Nicholas has decided to come forward against Lucky. Taggert explains that they don't have any evidence against Nik. Scott implies that Gia is also covering up for Nik and Lucky. Looking over Rick's personal stuff, Scott tells Taggert that there are items missing. Taggert explains that he was just following Scott's orders by leaving the items on one of the desk. Scott gets upset and says he never wanted the items to be left unattended. He asks where the key to the bus station locker is.

Bus station

Nicholas and Gia are at the bus station. Gia tries to convince Nicholas to stop what he is doing. Nicholas tells her he has to see what's in the locker. He opens the locker and finds the skull.

Quartermain House

Skye walks in and asks Ned how Lila is doing, as Ned is about to read the contract. While he turns away from her, Skye puts the contract in her purse. He asks Skye if she came to the house to make her move on ELQ. She says she's not interested in the company. Ned announces that he will be taking over ELQ, that he doesn’t care about Skye’s happiness. He then shows her out of the house.

Oasis Strip Club

Courtney (in her regular clothes) tells Jason he can leave now, since she's done. He tells her he will make sure she gets home ok. She tells him to leave her alone because having him around makes her situation more real.

GH ICU

Allan admits to Monica that he wished that Edward had died many times. He now regrets his thoughts. Allan hopes that when Edward wakes up, he will atone for all the bad things he's done in his life.

Kelly's

Ned meets Alexis at Kelly's. They chit chat about Alexis' case (Lucky's murder charge) and he tells about taking over ELQ. He mentions that Lila wants them to go ahead with their wedding plans even though Edward is ill. Alexis starts to panic.. He gives her a glass of milk to calm her down.

Edward’s hospital room

AJ returns to Edward's room and stares at him. He blames Edward for making him want his approval, which caused his alcoholism, hating his brother, and ruining all his relationship. He does thank him for giving him the courage to stand up to him and making him survive and leading him to his wife. Courtney walks in and is touched by what AJ said. They leave Edward's room.

A new dock

Jason unexpectedly meets Liz and she asks him if whatever they have is over. Liz tells Jason she's sometimes afraid that he may just leave again. She says she would miss him and asks him if he would miss her. He says, "you know how I feel about you". Liz says that she never really heard him say how he feels. He tells her he's too dangerous to be around and that he can't be the friend she thought he would be to her and walks away.

Edward’s hospital room

Skye walks in and sits on Edward’s bed. She looks at the plug again and tells him that he probably deserves to die for what he did to her. She tells him that she sure he has other copies of the contract somewhere. Jax walks in and consoles her.

PCPD

Nicholas brings Lucky his suit and tells him what he found in the locker. The figure out that Rick and Scott are trying to hide a murder that happened 20 years ago.

Bus Station
A frantic Scott opens an empty locker.



On tomorrow's show...

Jax tells Monica and Alan he's marrying Skye because he loves her…

Zander tells the nurse that Sonny got over whoever the woman is a long time ago…
