General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 20-Aug-2002

Okay. Today was very interesting. This will probably be a long one so bear with me!


@ PCPD (Interrogation Room)
Lucky meets with Alexis in the interrogation room. He complains about the food and thinks that Scott purposely put him in a cell next to guys that won’t shut up. Alexis agrees thinking maybe Scott is trying to wear him down into confessing. Lucky tells his lawyer, very loudly incase anyone is eavesdropping, that he didn’t kill Rick Webber nor has he spoken to anyone that has. Alexis reminds her client that the room would not be bugged because Scott knows that would have the case thrown out of court. She tells Lucky that she needs to know everything that happened and doesn’t want to find out from someone else. She starts questioning about the events after finding Rick’s body, but Lucky remains silent. She tells him that she knows neither Nikolas nor Lucky killed Rick, but Scott will convince himself that they did until another suspect pops us, namely Luke or Laura. Angrily Lucky says that he would be happy to point fingers. How about Scott Baldwin? He asks. Lucky starts to briefly explain the attic situation, saying that something happened to his mother up there a long time ago and that she has repressed it but that Scott was somehow involved. He thinks his dad was close to finding out something when Rick died. Alexis wants to know where Luke and Laura are because surely they would be there if they knew Lucky had been arrested for the murder, it’s a mighty suspicious that they have completely disappeared. Lucky tells her that she should be looking at Scott, but Alexis tells him that there is no evidence linking Scott to anything. Actually, yes there is, replies Lucky.
Later, Nikolas shows up and walks in to talk with Lucky (Alexis has left), but the focus is on Mac and Scott outside the room. Mac asks Scott if he thinks it’s a good idea to leave the brothers alone in the room. Scott replies that its his best idea to date. Explains that he has just lit a fire under Nikolas and now gets to see what happens (an explanation will come further down). Mac asks the DA if it bothers him at all that Nikolas and Lucky are Laura’s sons and that Lucky is Bobbie’s nephew. Scott says it does but there is nothing he can do about it. As Alexis approaches, Mac is handed a file which he reads and then passes to Scott. Scott takes a look at it and tells Alexis that the blood on the attic floor is definitely Rick’s and now he has evidence linking Nikolas and Lucky. Alexis finds that most interesting, but wants to know what prompted Scott to check the Scorpio attic.
Back in the interrogation room, Nikolas tells Lucky that the cops are starting to find more evidence and that is possible that they may have missed something like a fingerprint that could link them. Explains that their other problem is the cop who pulled them over. Simple, Lucky says, bribe the guy. Nikolas is astounded and complains that its getting way to complicated. Lucky retorts by saying that it wasn’t too difficult for him to cover up Gia’s DUI. Nikolas replies that situation is different because this is MURDER. Lucky says that it might not be murder but it might be self-defense. They don’t know everything that happened. Well, then where are mom and Luke? Nikolas wants to know. He asks his brother what would happen if they just cooperated with Scott. Lucky says no way, his not implicating his parents in anything. He muses aloud that maybe Laura, not Luke, killed Rick.
Outside the room, Scott dodges Alexis’s question by explaining yet again the circumstances leading up to the arrest of Lucky (the phone call, the accident, etc). Alexis asks him again what prompted him to go to the attic right after Luke and Laura’s non-wedding. He says simply that it was pure instinct. Alexis tells the DA that he’s missing one important piece of evidence. Motive. Why would anyone they know, especially Nikolas and Lucky kill Rick Webber?
Scott walks into the interrogation room and asks if the brothers have anything to say to him that might be interesting. Lucky looks at Nikolas who replies, No, nothing.
Later, Taggert and Gia arrive and he wants to know how she got mixed up in all of this. Nikolas comes up and asks Taggert to give her a break and they get into their usual banter (is this how you treat my sister etc..) Finally Gia tells her fiancé that she just needs to talk to her brother. Nikolas obliges and gives them time. Taggert tells his sister that she is in big trouble this time and will need his help to get out of it.
Lucky comes back and stands beside Nikolas. A cop orders Nik to move away from the suspect, but Nik claims that he is only asking Lucky if he needs anything. Lucky says that he needs a suit, but there attention is focused on a box that was just brought in containing Rick Webber’s personal effects. They look at each other and silently agree to check it out. After Lucky leaves, Nikolas makes his way slowly over to the boxes and listens as the two cops examining the items look at a key not on a key chain. They assume its for a locker of some sort. After they leave, Nikolas slowly approaches the box and with his back to it reaches behind and quickly pulls out the key and tucks it inside his pants. Meanwhile, Taggert interrogates Gia some more about how Nik has been using her from the beginning and putting her in harm’s way. Gia defends her relationship by saying that they are happy and they are better together when they are apart. Nikolas approaches and tells Taggert that unless he is going to arrest him, leave them alone. Taggert tells them to leave but not to go far.

@ The Scorpio Attic
Scott shows up and looks at the murder scene. Suddenly Nikolas appears, he wants to know when Lucky will get a bail hearing. Scott starts in on Nikolas with his usual banter and tries to figure out what happened trying to get Nikolas to confess. He tells the prince that he doesn’t care if Nik wants to go to jail for his brother but they only found Lucky’s fingerprints. Nik tells the DA that they did not kill Rick. Scott reminds Nik that he knows about last summer and finding the dead cop and covering it up. Nik tells Scott that its starting to feel like he should have his lawyer present. Scott tells him that he should think really hard about what his brother has gotten him into this time and leaves.
Later, Scott has returned (after being at PCPD) and this time Alexis is his surprise visitor. She wonders what he is doing here AGAIN and what exactly what happened in the attic, she wants to know.

@ Alcazar’s
Zander is eating, what looks to be supper, with “Brenda’s” oh sorry, the mystery lady’s, friend. He asks why he’s being kept here, not that he’s complaining though. He’s just curious. Explains that he had business information to pass along about Sonny to her employer and he has no idea about their personal love live’s. He can’t answer her questions. Outside the room we see mystery lady listening in, but as usual we only see up to her neck. (come on everyone knows its Brenda! Why can’t we see her?!?!?) Later on, and a little on the tipsy side, Zander starts telling mystery lady’s friend what he used to do for Sonny, running errands, looking after Carly, etc. He explains how Jax helped Carly open a club, but mostly to at Sonny. Did I tell you Jax was married? He asks. The friend jumps up at this point and is VERY interested in this information. Zander explains that he was married to Alexis. When asked for how long, Zander replies that he’s not sure but for quite awhile. It must have been some divorce though because they are still best friends. At this point, Zander makes a move to run and escape but ends up loosing his balance and collapses against the wall beside the door. You put something in my drink, he asks. She tells him not to worry, she’s not going to hurt him. He passes out. Later, Mystery Lady arrives and the friend informs her that Zander tried to escape but not too worry, they will keep him until she has all the information she needs. Later, Mystery Lady approaches a sleeping Zander. He slowly awakens and sees a blurry face of a woman standing over him. He asks who she is and she says a friend.

@ Kelly’s
Carly and clan (Leticia, Michael & a bodyguard) are paying for their take out order. Carly gives Courtney some cash and tells her to keep the change. Courtney looks at her surprised, but thanks her. Liz comes in and approaches Carly saying that she needs to get a message to Jason. Carly tells her entourage that she will meet them at the car. Liz starts to explain that she has been looking all over town for Jason and that he is not returning her phone calls and she has something VERY important that she needs to tell him asks Carly if she will call Jason for her. Calmly and rather nicely (for Carly anyway especially dealing with Liz), Carly tells Liz that if Jason is not returning her calls its for a good reason and that she should just let it be. Jason doesn’t need her distracting him right now. Liz tells her that is not personal its completely business. Carly asks if she’s been threatened. She replies that she hasn’t but she has information that could save Jason’s life.
Later, much later, Liz arrives back from work. Her co-worker tells her that someone came in looking for Zander.

@ Sonny’s penthouse
Jason is telling Sonny that when he arrived that the Oasis last night, Courtney had already left but he found out that she is working tonight from 10-2. As Sonny is reminding him to remain out of Courtney’s sight, but to be ready if something happens to her, AJ bursts through the door. Angrily AJ tells Sonny that he found his jacket stuffed in their closet. He tells his brother-in-law that he doesn’t care if Courtney is his sister he is not welcome in his house. AJ continues to tell Sonny that he gave him a chance to proved he cared about Courtney by going to him when she was missing but he didn’t care if she was dead or alive he only want to rip into AJ. AJ and Sonny are still in the middle of arguing when Jason answers the phone. Carly relays Liz’s request. Jason asks if Liz is still there and Carly explains that’s she left but will be at their “spot” and he would know what it meant. Jason tells her that if she sees Liz to tell her he will get there as soon as possible. Explains that AJ is in the penthouse right. Courtney’s overhears Carly asks why AJ is there and she runs out of the restaurant saying that she has a family emergency. AJ tells Sonny that Courtney is the best thing that ever happened to him and that they both chose each other over their families, so Sonny should just learn to deal with it. AJ tells Sonny that he doesn’t want Courtney to become a target so order Sonny and his brother to stay away from his wife. Sonny is ready to spill the beans to AJ about his wife’s nighttime gig, but Jason’s steps in and prevents that from happening.
Later, Courtney shows up looking for AJ. Sonny tells her that he left, on his own. Courtney can’t believe that Sonny just couldn’t stay out of it and asks if AJ knows that she’s a stripper, she explains that it would kill him if he found out. Sonny replies that he didn’t tell AJ, but that he can make everything disappear if she would just let him. Angrily Courtney tells her brother that she doesn’t want to ask him for anything because she doesn’t want to owe him or want him thinking that he can control her life. Sonny explains that she’s not asking he’s offering. He tells his sister that she just admitted AJ was weak by saying that it would kill him if he found out about her job. Sonny explains to Courtney that he chose this life so he could protect his family and the ones he loves. Angrily, Courtney asks him if he’s ever made sacrifices for someone he loves. Just after Sonny asks her if she truly loves AJ or is just too afraid to admit that she made a mistake, Carly and clan show up. Carly begins to move into the kitchen to give them time together, but Courtney announces that she’s late and has to leave anyway. Sonny explains to Carly why Courtney was there. Carly tells him that one day AJ will cross the line and Courtney will see through his lies. Carly tells the mobster not to worry and that Courtney will be okay and one day soon she will realize the mistake she made in marrying AJ. After all, not everyone has their own person guardian angel looking after them. Sonny tells Carly that if he wasn’t Courtney’s brother, AJ would not have gone after her. His wife responds by saying that Courtney could have easily told AJ what Coleman was doing to her, but opted to take care of things herself. This is how she wants to handle it. Carly honestly believes that everything will be fine after all, Jason’s watching out for her.

@ Liz & Jason’s “Spot”
Liz is waiting for Jason to arrive. She hears his motorcycle and waits for him to come down. She thanks him for coming even though she knows he didn’t want to. The first thing he asks is if she’s hurt. She says she fine and then begins to explain what she overhead at Kelly’s between Roy and Alcazar. She tells Jason that Alcazar claims that Sonny won’t touch him because he has something Sonny wants more than anything in the world. She asks Jason if he knows what Alcazar meant. Jason responds by saying that this is proof Liz shouldn’t be involved. If Alcazar had caught her, Jason explains, she wouldn’t be standing here telling him what happened. Liz protests saying that she is positive Roy and Alcazar did not know she was there, but Jason is adamant. He tells her that the next time she in that type of situation, she should just turn and walk away. Alcazar is as worse as they get. So, this is you telling me what to do? Liz asks. Jason explains that he’s not telling her what to do, but he doesn’t want her to risk herself for him. Maybe that’s what I want, is the reply from Ms. Webber. Jason asks her point blank if she liked being shot at. What would have happened if the bullet went 3 inches over? Before walking away, Jason tells her that he has already held her and watched her bleed once and he can’t do it again.




@ The Oasis
Jason arrives for his first shift as Courtney’s invisible bodyguard. He is obviously uncomfortable and moves his way over the bar. Coleman approaches and introduces himself. He begins asking Jason what kind of woman he is interested in. When Jason remains mute, Coleman leaves, but not before telling him that if any of the girls interest him to come and see him, everyone except the next act that is, she’s spoken for. Jason watches in disgust as Coleman leaves and turns his attention, briefly, to stage when Courtney appears and begins to dance. He is watching from afar, when a big, biker dude decides he wants some real action from “Daisy” and steps up on the stage. Jason is at the ready, but waits until something happens. The big man, starts moving in on Courtney at which point Jason jumps on stage and in a cool martial arts kinda move, knocks the guy out and sends him flying off the stage. Courtney looks at her savior baffled.

ON THE NEXT GENERAL HOSPITAL

1) Alexis to Scott: “This is a picture of a younger you, with blood on your shirt.”
2) Coleman to Courtney and Jason as Jason is handing over money: “Its your call sweetheart.” Later, Sonny’s sister gives Jason a lap dance.
3) Monica to Skye with AJ, Ned and Jax looking on: “Oh if only Edward would just die.”
Skye to Monica: “I didn’t plan it that way!”

4) Nikolas and Gia in front of a locker. Gia asks in shock, “What is it?” as Nikolas holds a skull.
