General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 16-Jul-2002

PC GRILLE-
Maxie and Felicia are recovering after a shopping trip. Maxie appears to have undergone a personality transplant. She sweetly thanks Felicia for the new clothes, tells her mother how much she appreciates her, and admits she has been a royal pain lately. Felicia is happily surprised when Maxie tells her that she wants to volunteer as a candy stripper at GH. Maxie�s new attitude is explained when she neatly hints to Felicia that her volunteering would be easier on everyone � if she had her own car. Felicia reminds her that they have had this discussion before and reiterates her belief that a vehicle is something a person should earn on his or her own. Roy arrives and is invited to join them. He tells Maxie that Christmas has arrived early this year and gives her a set of keys � to her new car. Maxie is overjoyed but Roy can�t help but notice that Felicia is not pleased. He immediately tells the young girl that it is strictly on a test drive basis pending her mother�s approval. Maxie pleads with Felicia and promises to be responsible. Felicia gives in, sort of, and tells Maxie to drive the car straight home and park it in the driveway. If Maxie can do that with out any problems, Felicia promises to give the situation serious thought. Roy tells her it is the red convertible outside and Maxie takes off. Roy apologizes for overstepping his bounds and explains that he thought he was helping her out by getting something that would make Maxie happy. Felicia tells Roy that Maxie is due to visit Texas soon and if she gets enough practice on the ranch Felicia will let her keep the car. Roy encourages Felicia to relax and enjoy their new wealth. Felicia can�t help but worry that the money will bring consequences. Roy reminds her that they had the money checked out and it was clean. Felicia says what if the person who gave it to them eventually shows up and wants something in return? Roy tells Felicia not to worry about it. Felicia bids him goodbye and heads off to check on Maxie�
At another table-
Laura and Rick meet for lunch. The conversation turns to her nightmares and Laura describes her dream for Rick - a rainstorm, stairs to the attic garage, a woman moaning, and then seeing her teenage reflection in a mirror. Rick attempts to convince Laura that the images were probably created by her guilt over being away from Lulu during the fire or her natural uncertainty about remarrying Luke�

SPENCER HOUSE-
Luke gently presses Lesley for information about Laura�s visits to the attic. Leslie becomes flustered about discussing her troubled marriage to Rick. She does how ever tell Luke that Monica wasn�t the only affair Rick had during their marriage. She recalls for Luke how one of Rick's lovers refused to take no for an answer and admits that Laura did encounter the obsessed woman once when she came to their home. Rick calls Leslie and tells her they have a problem and she rushes off to meet him. Laura arrives back home and reports to Luke that Rick appeared to have logical explanations for her dreams/memories. Luke fills Laura in on what Leslie told him but Laura claims to have no memories of other affairs besides Monica or meeting the obsessed woman. Luke tells Laura he smells a cover-up�

LIZ�s STUDIO-
Jason accompanies Liz back to her studio. She is surprised and a bit unsettled by the new steel security door, which Jason explains he had installed for her safety. Jason senses her uneasiness and offers to have it removed if she wants. Liz assures him it�s ok, but can�t stop the flashbacks of the large steel crypt door closing her in. Moments later, Zander drops by to check on Elizabeth and brings her a gift � a nightlight because he remembers her fear of the dark. Liz is glad to see him and greets him warmly. Jason asks to speak with Zander alone, but Zander says what ever Jason has to say can be said in front of Liz. Liz encourages Zander to speak to Jason reminding him that Jason saved their lives. Before leaving Jason tells Liz to keep the door locked and not to open it unless she knows who is on the other side from now on. Once she is alone, Liz keeps having flashbacks to being trapped in the crypt�

ON THE DOCKS-
Jason asks Zander to give him all the details he remembers about his meeting with Roscoe. Zander questions why he should help Jason and Sonny. Jason tells Zander that he heard Roscoe mention a third person involved in their deal. He also mentions that Liz�s kidnapper wanted info on Pier 52 and know Roy has bought it with suspicious funds. He tells Zander that as long as this third person is out and going after Sonny Liz is still in danger. Zander says he knows nothing and taunts Jason by saying that the people who did know have all died or disappeared by his own doing. Zander then adds that Liz is in danger because of Jason�

THE PARK-
Gia tries to pry information about her �surprise� from Nik by withholding a chocolate covered strawberry. Nik finally gives in an presents Gia with a framed copy of her �Tempo� magazine cover. Nik offers to take Gia away on a romantic trip to St. Bart�s before the media descends on her. Gia is reluctant at first but does agree. Lucky arrives with news that their photo shoot together was a hit with the bigwigs and they want to book the duo on a European shoot. Lucky adds that Deception has OK�d her leave, but they must go immediately. Gia is excited but Nik tries to talk her into postponing it until after they get back from St. Bart�s. When Gia asks him straight out if he wants her to turn down the opportunity, Nik hedges a bit and says SHE must decide what she really wants to do. Gia admits she wants the job. Two young girls approach her and after confirming her identity, ask Gia to autograph their copies of �Tempo� magazine. Needless to say, Gia is on cloud nine�
Elsewhere in the park-
Jason stops Felicia and questions her about the origins of the money used to buy the pier. When Felicia again says she inherited it, Jason says they know that�s a lie because they�ve checked on Uncle Geraldo and he died broke. Felicia is less than happy about the invasion of her privacy and tries to leave. Jason stops her and tries to explain that he and Sonny believe Roy is fronting for someone else. Felicia refuses to believe it. Jason tries again by warning Felicia that Roy is lying to her and putting her in danger�

Q GATEHOUSE-
Ned is on the phone with Dr. Bonds asking her to record his name as the father of Alexis� baby when Kristina arrives home. Ned quickly cuts of the call and welcomes her home. He lets Kris babble on for a moment about all the problems she encountered on her trip then asks if she had listened to any messages or spoken with anyone else yet. Kris immediately questions what is wrong. When Ned tells her Alexis is pregnant, Kristina immediately realizes why Alexis moved so quickly. She wants confront Sonny and demand that he meet his responsibility as the baby�s father. She is brought up cold when Ned claims that he is the father. At first she refused to believe him because she is sure neither he nor Alexis would stab her in the back that way. Ned relates the story he and Alexis devised about the night at Brenda�s old cottage. Devastated by the "betrayal," Kristina yells at Ned and accuses him of lying to her the whole time when he was really still in love with Alexis. Ned tries to tell her he does love her but just made �a mistake� that night. He assures her that he can be with her and still fulfill his obligation as a father and pleads with her to give him the chance. Kristina wants nothing to do with him and tells him to get out of her face. She throws open the door and tells him to get out (of his own home). After Ned leaves, Kris breaks down into tears�

DOCKS-
Zander meets with Roy and asks him for a job. Roy is wary about hire a loyal ex-employee of Sonny�s. Zander assures Roy that he no longer feels any loyalty to Sonny because he became redundant when Jason returned. Zander tells Roy he needs a job and if he gets revenge on Sonny doing it he�ll consider it a perk. Roy warns Zander that working for him might be courting trouble. Zander tells Roy to think it over then leaves. No sooner does Zander leave than Roy�s �spidey� senses tingle warning him he is not alone. He turns and finds a man approaching him. Roy tells the unidentified man that he is late. The man retorts that Roy WORKS for �them� as he hands over a briefcase. Roy claims that he works for no one then tells the man to inform his �boss� he wants a meeting soon�

LIZ�S STUDIO-
Liz tries to concentrate but can�t. Footsteps in the hall make her very nervous especially when they stop at her door. When the doorknob starts to rattle she is overcome with fear and cowers behind the sofa�
