General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 10-Jul-2002

DECEPTION-
Sarah arrives and overhears Lucky ordering white roses for Liz. When she asks about the phone call, Lucky lies and tells her it was about business. Sarah suggests they meet later and Lucky agrees to call her but both are aware that Lucky�s heart is not really in it anymore�
GH-
Jason arrives in Liz�s room and comments on the MANY flower arrangements she has received. Liz tells Jason she is fine but Jason doesn�t buy it and asks her to stop pretending and be honest. Liz confesses to disturbing nightmares about being trapped in the crypt. Jason says he is no dream analyst but knows that dreams can't hurt you. Jason then gives Liz a postcard from Italy, featuring beautiful art. When Liz asks why he never mailed it, Jason claims he wasn't sure that she wanted to hear from him. Jason asks if Liz still wants him in her life since he was indirectly responsible for putting her in danger and can't promise that it won�t happen again. Liz tells him knowing he would never give up on finding her gave her hope to stay alive. She warns him NOT to try to cut her out of his life. Sarah overhears Liz thanking Jason for saving her life and Jason thanking Liz for hanging in there for him. She enters and says that Liz is due for more tests and rudely informs Jason to leave. Liz won't let Sarah take the postcard. After Jason leaves, Sarah tells Liz that she thinks hanging out with a guy who almost got Liz killed is a bad idea and accuses her of making another plea for attention. Liz tells Sarah that her life is none of Sarah's business. Liz adds that it's nice to have Jason around because he doesn't lie to her face. Sarah is sure that Liz can't stand the thought of Lucky being in love with her. An orderly arrives to take Liz to her tests and Liz tells Sarah not be in the room when she returns. Shortly after, Lucky's roses arrive. Sarah promptly puts them in the trash � and gets caught by Lucky. When he questions her, Sarah says that she doesn't like being lied to and confesses to overhearing his earlier phone conversation. Sarah accuses Lucky of obsessing over Liz but he thinks she�s the one with the problem. Lucky tells her that he realizes they are together for all the wrong reasons and thinks they should call it quits before they hurt each other any more. Sarah readily agrees and stomps off with the muttered comment that Liz has already replaced Lucky in her affections �with Jason. Liz returns and is actually semi-friendly when she finds Lucky waiting on her. When Lucky offers her a single while rose (which he retrieved from the trash) Liz suggests he give it to Sarah. Lucky tells her they have broken up. Liz expresses her condolences but tells Lucky that she thankful to them for making her realize it was over between her and Lucky. After Lucky leaves, Liz admires the postcard from Jason-again. Later, Audrey tries to persuade Liz to move in with her but Liz refuses. Audrey is concerned with the company Liz is keeping but Liz says she sees her friends as interesting and challenging. More flowers arrive and Audrey says she hopes they are not from Jason. Liz looks up from the card and says �No they are from Zander; is that better or worse?��
HARBORVIEW TOWERS-
Alexis� PH}
Alexis is reading the newspaper account of Zander and Liz's close call. Her first question to Ned, who has just arrived, is about Sonny's condition. He convinces her that Sonny is fine and she doesn�t need to visit him. Alexis tells Ned that Carly knows she is pregnant and that Sonny is the father. Alexis is convinced that Carly will be unable to keep the secret and worries that Sonny and Carly are plotting to steal her child from her. Ned points out that there is no up side for Carly if she tells Sonny about the child. In fact he is convinced that Carly is Alexis's best bet against Sonny finding out�
Sonny�s PH}
Carly returns with some medicine for Sonny, but he only wants her. He kisses her and starts to pull her sown on the sofa. When a knock sounds on the door, Sonny insists on answering. Carly worries that he thinks it might be Alexis. He explains that someone is supposed to be dropping off Alexis' keys. It�s only the moving men and they are looking for Alexis� apartment. Carly rudely tells them not to scratch any of the walls. Sonny offers to cook breakfast but Carly tells him she can't eat because of a medical procedure she's having done. Sonny tells Carly she doesn�t have to have anything done and promises that he will love her just the same even if they never have a baby together. Jason arrives and Carly leaves them alone while she goes to the doctor. Sonny tells Jason he is concerned about Carly because he is sure she is hiding something that is hurting her. He tells Jason he can't bear the thought of losing another baby. Jason tells Sonny that he thinks Carly is doing everything for him and is hopeful about the fertility treatments.
Alexis� PH}
Carly pushes her way in and asks Alexis what her cover story is going to be. Alexis asks why Carly thinks it's okay to interrogate her. Carly says because her husband is the father of the baby. Carly warns Alexis not to wait too long to come up with a story and suggests that Alexis say she used a sperm bank so Sonny won't suspect the truth�
Sonny�s PH}
Sonny and Jason turn their attention to trying to figure out what Liz's kidnappers wanted and what they'll do next since they didn�t get it the first time. Ned drops off Alexis' keys. Sonny asks Ned to wish Alexis the best for him but Ned refuses and admits he hopes he never hears Alexis speak Sonny's name again. Sonny gives the keys to Jason but tells him that he will be kicked out if Carly gets pregnant.
Jason�s PH}
Benny comes by the now empty PH and tells Jason that Roy has bought Pier 52 from under them. Jason is sure that someone is setting a trap to take Sonny down�
PIER 52-
Roy gives Felicia a tour of their new property. Felicia warns that the authorities will be keeping a close eye on the pier. Roy says that's O.K. since nothing illegal will be going on there. He thanks Felicia for going along with his use of her money. Felicia says she feels that something else is going on. Roy admits that he really gets a charge out of getting the best over Sonny. Felicia suggests other ways they could have spent the money but Roy promises that his instincts are right and that she will be glad she trusted him. Felicia agrees to hang in there with him�
MERCY HOSPITAL-
Carly is behind a hospital curtain when she hears Dr. Bonds directing another patient to the next cubicle. To her shock she recognizes the other patient by her voice � Alexis. Alexis is overjoyed when she finally hears the baby's heartbeat; Carly is brought to tears by the same sound. Carly starts to bolt from the room but Sonny walks in with a bouquet of flowers for her. Carly tries to walk out but Sonny sees her tears and insists on knowing why she is upset. Behind the cubicle curtain Alexis starts to panic when she recognizes Sonny�s voice�
