General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 9-Jul-2002

GH-
Scott arrives with a cake for the working nurses but when Bobbie opens it they discover it all smashed up. Alan also shows up. He is looking for Monica. Upon discovering she is not there he immediately starts to gripe about Rick�s presence again�

SCORPIO-JONES ATTIC-
Mac finds Luke searching the site of the fire for clues. At first Mac warns Luke that he will only be causing more trouble but does let him know that the evidence points to arson. The fire was set off by a timing device, which means the culprit could have been anywhere by the time it started�

JR. Q APT-
AJ wakes up with a bad hangover, made worse when he realizes that Courtney is nowhere to be found�

PARIS-
Laura has a nightmare involving the garage attic. She calls Luke who tells her about the fire. However he leaves out important details like the possible arson and just how close Lulu came to being trapped. Luke assures her that her nightmares are now found less but Laura in not convinced. Laura goes back to sleep and has another nightmare about the attic�

LUKE�S CLUB-
Monica and Rick share a slow dance. When Monica tries to leave, Rick convinces her to stay a bit longer. She goes off to use the phone. Rick drifts toward the bar and overhears Luke speaking to Laura. Rick inquires about her and Luke tells him that he has filled Laura in on the attic fire and as he predicted, she was upset at being kept in the dark. Luke goes on and elaborates how Laura seems to have a sixth sense about bad things happening. Luke appears to be trying to get a reaction out of Rick. Luke asks if Rick has any idea why Laura wouldn�t remember the garage attic. Before he can answer Monica returns. Then Alan interrupts and orders Rick to stay away from Monica. Monica and Alan get into the same old fight - again.
UPSHOT: Alan decks Rick and says he sorry he didn�t kill Rick all those years ago. Monica finally intervenes and manages to get Alan to leave. Shortly after, Scott suggests that Rick should return to Arizona - ASAP. Bobbie tells Scott to back off. Rick says he understands why Scott is in a bad mood considering the date. After Rick leaves Bobbie presses him and Scott admits that it is his and Laura�s anniversary. Rick pauses outside the club to draw a breath of relief but Luke is waiting on him and demands to know the real reason Rick is in town. Rick claims that he only wants what Luke wants�
Laura�s happiness�

OASIS-
The owner of the club offers Courtney the opportunity to work off the damage ($18,000) to the building by working at his club � as a stripper. Courtney turns him down and tries to talk him into accepting a payment plan. The man threatens to call the authorities, which he reminds her will land AJ in jail. He then tells her that she can make more by stripping in one night than she can waiting tables in a week. He assures her that club policy prevents the patrons from touching the dancers. Courtney still refuses. He gives her his card and tells her he will give her 24 hours (to change her mind) before he calls the police�

ST. ANN�S CEMENTARY-
After making sure that Liz is OK, Jason rushes to help the unconscious Sonny. Once Sonny is revived, Liz again asks for Zander. Leaving Sonny and Liz to help each other, Jason goes into the crypt and finds Zander � barely alive. The emergency crew finally arrives � led by Taggart who immediately starts to questions everyone. Liz is too worried about Zander to answer anything, and gets Jason to escort her to Zander�s side. Inside the crypt, she kneels by the still unconscious Zander and croons to him while the EMTs work on him. Jason observes with some interest. Back outside, Taggart continues �questioning� Sonny. Once Zander is brought out, Taggart tries to question Liz again. She gives him a disjointed version and pleads with him to let her accompany Zander to the hospital. Sonny rags on Taggart for interrogating Liz instead of getting her obviously needed medical attention. Jason ignores Taggart and whisks Liz off to the hospital.
Once alone, Sonny and Taggart get into the usual insult exchanging routine. Taggart presses Sonny for details, Sonny claims that since the kidnappers are dead-it�s over. Taggart doesn�t agree and promises to get to the bottom of the situation�

LUKE�S CLUB-
Nik plays host to a bunch of bigwigs � who can make Gia�s career. When Luke announces closing time, Nik gives him $500 to stay open, which Luke agrees to do � for ONE hour. Nik is surprised when Lucky and Sarah arrive, then upset to learn Gia invited them. When he drags her outside she explains that Lucky is a great photographer and deserves to succeed too. If it happens to help in a reconciliation between the brothers all the better she says. Lucky and Sarah overhear Nik telling Gia not to worry about Lucky. Gia goes back inside to praise Lucky�s skills to �Vance�. Nik tells Lucky that it�s Gia�s night and he doesn�t want her to share the spotlight. Sarah receives a call from GH informing her that Liz has been admitted. Nik declines to visit Liz, claiming she wouldn�t want to see him anyways. Lucky considers it an insult to Liz. Before he and Sarah leave Lucky tells Nik to express his condolences to Gia, she has earned them Lucky says. Back inside Nik learns that Gia recommended Lucky as the photographer for her upcoming shoot. When Vance asks to meet him, Nik says that Lucky left, but doesn�t mention anything about Liz. Vance calls Lucky �flaky� and assures Gia a top notch replacement�

GH-
When Lucky persists in talking to Liz after she asks him to leave her be, Jason pushes him up against the wall to bring the point home. Sonny intervenes before things get too hairy. Jason goes after Liz and Sonny tells Lucky to calm down. Informing Sonny that he doesn�t take orders, Lucky tells Sonny that he is tired of watching him and Jason push people around and hopes to be around when someone pushes back. Taggart tries to question Sonny again, but as usual he get nothing from the mob boss.
Jason arrives outside of Zander�s room just as Tony also does. Tony informs Jason that he is running some tests and Zander can�t have visitors yet. Liz arrives shortly thereafter and learns from Jason that Zander is still unconscious. Jason offers to get Liz from her room as soon as Zander awakens but Liz prefers to wait there. After the orderly leaves, Liz takes Jason aside and thanks him for saving her life. He apologies for taking so long to find her. Liz tells him that she was sure death was imminent, but knew she was safe once she saw Jason�s face outside the crypt. When Tony emerges from the room, Liz questions him about Zander�s health. Tony says Zander will be fine, (and with a cold pointed look in Jason�s direction) but needs to get better friends. Jason escorts Liz inside the room then leaves. Liz tells Zander how worried she was for him and reiterates how much it meant that she didn�t go through the ordeal alone. Jason observes them through the door window and appears perplexed (and possibly a bit un nerved) by their apparent closeness�

JR. Q APT-
When Courtney returns home she finds a dejected AJ. He confesses that he thought she had left him. Courtney starts to assure him she would never do that when she notices a bottle of vodka on the dresser. AJ swears he didn�t drink any (the bottle does appear to be full). He asks her to promise she will never leave him and tells her he is grateful that she still loves him despite all the dumb stuff he does. Courtney assures AJ she will do whatever is necessary to make sure they stay together. AJ draws her into an embrace and they make love. Later, while AJ is asleep, Courtney goes to the other room and calls Mr. Coleman (the owner of the Oasis Club). She tells him that she has decided to accept his offer and he tells her to come soon and work out the details�
