At the park…
Skye and Edward are having a discussion as the fireworks go off. Edward is pleased with the goings-on, but Skye is bothered by AJ’s return to drinking. Edward says it is only further proof that AJ is weak and destructive and that the right move was made in making Skye the sole heir. Skye admits there is a limit to how far she will go to play the devoted girlfriend to Jax. She explains to Edward that Jax offered her the club manager position. She is upset, thinks it is a stupid offer. Edward finds it amusing and tells her she will most certainly say yes to this offer. He says this is a perfect way to get back at him. After some convincing, Skye seems nearly convinced.
At Club 101…
Sonny vehemently denies that Carly took any money, insists Jax took the money and set Carly up. Sonny won’t hear any of it. Jax ponders if Sonny doth protest too much and suggests Sonny is in such an uproar because he knows Carly is guilty. Jax and Sonny bicker; same old, same old. Sonny turns to Alexis for help, but she stays firmly on Jax’s side. Sonny says, “Something has changed.” Sonny writes a check for the $100,000 and gives it to Jax, but he isn’t interested. He rips it up. Sonny’s last ditch effort involves something about Jax using Alexis and Alexis being smarter than that. He wants affirmation from Alexis, but she doesn’t give him any. With Sonny gone, Alexis tells Jax she is surprised he isn’t going to give Carly another chance. He says, “no way.” She wonders about his true motives for helping Carly with the club initially. He admits he enjoyed how his help got under Sonny’s skin. The conversation switches to Club 101 and Alexis expresses her concern over giving the club to Skye. Jax tells Alexis how much he cares for Skye and mentions how sometimes she believes him and sometimes she is too insecure to believe him. (Skye? Insecure?) She questions him some more and when Skye shows up, she leaves. Skye tells him she accepts the position. Her first order as manager is for him to make love to her right there in the office, right then. He is happy to oblige.
At Sonny’s penthouse…
Jason is desperately on the phone, receiving the news that nothing has been found regarding Elizabeth’s whereabouts. Taggert is there. Carly comes home, is annoyed to find Taggert in her home and mouths off to him over and over and over again. Jason and Taggert conduct their business around her. Taggert wants Jason’s help in return. Jason averts the chief’s suggestion and says maybe “ELQ” refers to another person, not Edward Quartermaine. Taggert says he will look into the other stuff, but he wants more information, like what the ransom note involved. Jason isn’t interested. Taggert says he will look anyway. Sonny shows up, disgusted that Taggert is there. Before Taggert leaves, he suggests to Jason that should he ever decide to stop working for Sonny, he’d have a great career in law enforcement (!!). Jason takes off to meet with Benny. Alone, Carly starts kissing Sonny. He turns to her and wants to know why she embezzled money from Jax. Here’s a surprise, Carly denies it and blames it all on Alexis. He tells her he loves her and will stand by her. This gets her to tell him the truth finally (the truth, ahem). She says she used the money for infertility treatments.
In the crypt…
Zander and Liz kiss, kiss, kiss. She says she doesn’t want to stop. As they head towards vertical, Liz notices a crack in the wall. Zander digs and digs and they finally find a pipe. Liz automatically assumes it is water and breaks the pipe. Uh oh, it is a gas pipe. Zander furiously tries close the pipe back up. He seems to, but Elizabeth has already passed out. He moves her closer to the door, by the fresh air, but moments later, he passes out, too.
In the park…
Gia and Nikolas come across a kissing booth, only no one is manning it. Gia thinks this is a perfect way to give, as all proceeds go to the 9/11 fund. When a bunch of takers come up to get their kiss from Gia, Nikolas intervenes and buys up all her kisses.
Walking through the park, Alexis is talking on her cell phone. She is going on a hunch as to how her former employers got the extra money to woo her back. She thinks they got the money from Carly Corinthos. (isn’t she a smart cookie?). They promise to get back to her with the info. She wants to be able to repay the favor.
On the docks…
Benny tells Jason some of what he turned up. It seems the Quinns were an old mob family who are now dead and buried. He mentions some old crypt that he thinks might be in St. Anne’s cemetery. Jason has heard enough and runs off.
At the docks, the park, etc…
Courtney finds the empty flask by the bench on the docks, but no sign of AJ. He is hiding behind a tree. She looks over in his direction—does she see him? It’s not clear. She seems sad and heads up the stairs. AJ comes out from hiding and takes off. Courtney follows him. He ends up on another bench in the park and passes out. Courtney comes upon him and tries to put her jacket on him to cover him up. He awakes and freaks out, starts yelling at her that she can stop her Pollyanna act, that this is the true him. He gets into his car and she gets in behind him. AJ is upset and continues to give her attitude. She tries to stop him from driving and tries to convince him that she cares. He isn’t interested. He tells her to get out, but she won’t. AJ takes off driving anyway (have we seen this before?). She begs him to pull over and let her drive, but he isn’t listening. Seconds later, HONK, errr., brakes….C-R-A-S-H!!
