General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 2-Jul-2002

Okay… Sorry for the delay. I missed the first five minutes, thanks to a power outage, but I don’t think that I missed too much. If I did, please let me know!

@ ELQ

Edward tells Petra to reschedule all appointments; he is only meeting with one “wayward” grandchild that he never expected would turn. In walks Jason telling his grandfather that they need to talk. At first Edward thinks that Jason is there on a quest from Sonny for an eventual takeover of ELQ, but Edward informs him that ELQ is stronger than ever, so he can just forget about it. Jason tells Edward that he wants a listing of all the properties and holdings owned by ELQ within a 50-mile radius of Port Charles, especially ones that have basements or storage facilities. Again, Edward thinks that Jason is looking for someplace to hide a body for Sonny and well, he can forget it, but then he realizes how desperate Jason must be to be coming to him for help. He offers Jason a deal. Come back to the family and you will get your list. He tells Jason to come by the house for dinner and he will get his list. Jason replies by saying, okay but give me the list first, to which Edward responds, well that would mean I have to trust you to come and I don’t. Jason tells his grandfather to stop jerking him around and give him the list or he knows to never come to him for anything again. Edward still won’t change his mind and as Jason is leaving Skye comes in.
She wants to know why Edward was meeting with Jason. She informs her grandfather that she doesn’t like the idea of him conspiring with Jason minutes before their meetings. She states that she suddenly sees Jason as the sole heir and herself slowly disappearing. Edward tells her not to worry, but that he is encouraged by her constant suspicion and raging paranoia, she will need that to run the family business. He pulls out the contracts and states that she was very smart to have put their agreement in writing. He reads a section of the contract to her, which basically states that Skye will provide Edward with insider information on Jax’s businesses and upon confirmation of Jax’s financial downfall she will be made sole beneficiary and is not to discuss that with anyone. At first Skye looks like she is reconsidering but she signs anyway. She tells Edward that it must look like she is reconciling with the family so that Jax doesn’t get suspicious. Edward invites both her and Jax to dinner.

@ Kelly’s (outside)
AJ presents Courtney with a rose and tells her that he found some money as well as a possible lead on a job. Courtney wants AJ to have the money that she earned waitressing, but he refuses to accept it. She tells him that they are in this together and they support each other financially and emotionally. She wants him to buy back the plate he stole form the Q’s and return it to them. Reluctantly AJ takes the money and Courtney goes back to work.

@ Kelly’s (inside)
Sarah informs Lucky that she has the whole day off and wants to do something with him. He says he would love to but he’s too busy. He then admits that he is worried about Liz. Surprise surprise, thinks Sarah. Lucky explains that he had called Liz the night before to tell her about a painting at the studio that needs repairing and that she hasn’t called him back yet. Sarah informs him that Liz is probably still pissed about them and is avoiding him. Lucky insists that something is wrong and asks Sarah to go with him to help him find her. Reluctantly, very reluctantly, she agrees and they go off in search of Liz.

@The Crypt
Liz wakes up from a nightmare and is comforted by Zander. He tells her that she has been asleep for most of the night and that their captor hasn’t returned yet. Liz starts to panic thinking that they will die in there. Their captor (I think his name is Kent), is the only person that she has been in contact with so if he hasn’t returned then either he got the information from Jason and doesn’t need her anymore or he’s dead. Zander tells her not to panic that Jason won’t stop looking for them and neither Sonny. They will get out of there alive, they just have to be strong. Liz explains that she is trying to be, but that she hates the dark. She tells him it feels like she has been in here for weeks and that they will be in there forever. Zander tells her that she is crazy for thinking that. Smart, talented, beautiful and kind people like her don’t die in crypts, they make it out alive and go on to do great things, he explains. He tells her to keep herself distracted by thinking of things she will do once she gets out. Jokingly, she replies, yeah like travel to Italy, tour the Eastern Islands, put on a show at the Guggenheim, that kind of thing? They talk a bit more about that and they agree to help keep each other distracted.
Zander and Liz start talking about their respective relationships. She tells him that she may have to thank Sarah for opening her eyes to what she didn’t want to see. She explains how Lucky saved her both physically and emotionally after the rape and that all she wanted to do was become someone he could love. Zander says that he knows what its like trying to be someone your not for someone else. Liz tells him that that was what was perfect with her and Lucky, they didn’t have to try, they just fit together. She explains that the year after the fire changed everything. They both changed and neither one wanted to admit that they couldn’t go back to what they had. She hasn’t figured out yet who she is now that she is not Lucky’s girlfriend, but the good thing that did come out of all of it, was her painting. Liz thanks Zander for helping her stay distracted and asks him why he never talks about himself and wants to know who he really is.
Again Zander changes the subject and they talk about the fact that at least they have cold air to breathe. Zander pulls her into a hug to warm her up. She asks again why he won’t talk about himself, what’s his secret. He say that there is no secret just nothing to tell. Liz tells him how Emily told her he was from Florida, but that no one know where in Florida, why he came to Port Charles or if his last name really is Smith. With a straight face he tells her that his real name is John Jacob Humperdink (or something to that effect). They laugh it off and Liz tells him that she’s sorry for how she always told Emily that he was a loser and to forget about him. She says that despite the circumstances it is nice to be going through it with someone, even if it is him.

@Jax’s Lakehouse
Jax tells Skye that his trip was purely business, but she starts asking him, what he did, where he went, etc. He is very evasive and says that it was mostly meetings. He changes the subject and asks her why she wants to know so much. She tells him its because she wants to share with him. He tells her not to go anywhere and disappears into the next room. When he comes back he tells her that after his morning meeting he is free for the day, does she want to go sailing? She says she would, but she has something to do, but she will take a raincheck.
After Skye leaves to go meet with Edward, Jax is visited by one of the guys that works at the club. He brings Jax the bank account book and they start going over the numbers. Jax confirms that Carly did indeed take the money out and there is no proof of anything that she spent the money on.
Skye returns from her meeting and needing further reinforcement about why she is doing this to Jax, she takes out the picture of him and his arms dealer. Jax comes outside and she quickly puts it away. He explains that his meeting finished early and puts a blindfold over her eyes and leads her into the house. After removing the blindfold, Skye is shocked to see “Paris” in their living room. He says that it worked so well the last time he brought Paris to her, he had to do it again. He presents her with a box and as she opens it, she is stunned to see the pearls that he bought her (same ones that are on the woman’s’ neck in the picture). He explains the story behind them and then says that they pale in comparison to her beauty. The phone interrupts them as Skye insists on paying him back with kisses. Again, she pulls out the picture and angrily stuffs it back into her purse. After finishing on the phone, Jax tells her that he wants to take her sailing, but she tells him that they have been invited for dinner at the Q’s. Jax wonders out loud what Edward has up his sleeve this time. Skye says that it doesn’t matter. As long as they are together, then nothing can come between them.

@ The PCPD
Taggert and another cop are talking about what is going down in the city. He knows that something is going down and wants to be kept up to date on everything that Sonny and Carly do.
Sarah and Lucky arrive and explain that they want to file a missing persons report on Liz. But, when asked, they don’t know where she was seen last, who she was with. Cop tells them that without evidence of foul play, there is nothing they can do as it is not a crime to be missing.
Taggert tells cop that he wants updates on Liz’s whereabouts, if they find her and if they don’t. Sarah hints that Liz might be doing this to get attention. She explains that when her and Liz compete, Liz gets desperate and will do anything. Lucky insists that its more than that. Something is wrong. He doesn’t love her anymore, but he still cares about her. He rushes off after telling Sarah that he might know someone who knows where Elizabeth is.

@ The Docks
(Before going to PCPD) Lucky tells Sarah that he is partly to blame for Liz’s involvement with Jason and Zander. They are bother dangerous and distractions for her because she’s lonely, she’s trying to make a point. Sarah tells him that he should just leave it alone, Liz is a big girl and can take care of herself. If he keeps infiltrating himself in her life, Liz will only push him away further. Lucky says that he is willing to take that risk and they rush off to continue to search for her.
Max (Sonny’s other bodyguard) is by the payphone and is talking on his cell phone saying that he is under strict instructions from Jason to stay there while Jason tracks down a possible lead.
After his meeting with Edward, Jason returns to the docks and Max informs him that no one has called. Jason thinks its probably because the person is dead. Jason gives Max a list of all the ELQ holdings that he knows about and orders him to search them all top to bottom and to get everyone on it. As he is making a call to Sonny and giving him an update on Liz, Courtney shows up. He hangs up the phone and politely asks Courtney if she can use another phone, he is waiting for a call. She is curious, but he tells her that its not her problem. She says that she wants to help if she can. Jason thinks that maybe she can, and as he is pulling out some money from his pocket and asking her to get a message to AJ, she spots his gun and asks if he really is a hit-man. He tells her that he has a permit to carry the gun and when asked why, he explains that sometimes Sonny needs a bodyguard.
AJ shows up and orders Jason to stay the hell away from his wife. AJ is livid when he thinks Jason is trying to give them some money, but Jason quickly explains that he needs information that AJ might have and he will pay for it. It’s not Sonny’s money, its his own. AJ says that the same damn thing and he doesn’t care what Jason needs. Why should he when he took his only son away from him? He tells Jason to stay away from Courtney and pulls her away. She tells him that he is being unfair, but he pulls her away.
After AJ and Courtney leave, Jason is waiting by the phone when we see someone come down the staris. We only see a pair of (ugly) brown shoes and a tan pants. When the person gets closer, Jason jumps them and is about to punch him in the face when he discovers that its Lucky.

Back @ Kelly’s.
Courtney asks AJ why he is so angry. He doesn’t want to argue anymore about his brother so he changes the topic and pulls out the plate that he stole from the Q’s. He explains that it took all of Courtney’s money to buy it back. She says that she doesn’t care that’s what the money was for. She wants to go to Q mansion so AJ can return the plate. She says that she will distract them while he puts it back and maybe they can talk something out. AJ obviously doesn’t want to go, but say he will if that’s what Courtney wants.


ON THE NEXT GENERAL HOSPITAL:

1) AJ and Courtney arrive at Q mansion to a house full of family members. AJ sarcastically says that his invitation must have got lost in the mail.
2) @ The PCPD: Taggert says to Alexis: “You’re really doing this aren’t you?”
3) @ Docks: Lucky and Jason pushing each other around. Lucky asks Jason to tell him where Liz is, since he knows. Jason tells him to back off.
4) @ Club 101: Sonny is telling Roy to expect the unexpected.
