General Hospital Update for Friday, 7-Jun-2002

@ STUDIO

Lucky is on the phone calling Sarah leaving her a message to call him asap when Gia shows up. Lucky accuses the model of being late, again. After insisting that she is early not late, Lucky informs her that he left a message for her last night at Wyndemere about the photo shoot changes, "didn't you get the message?" He asks. Lucky explains more of the changes to Gia and as Lucky calls the stylists, Florence shows up to drop off Gia's date book and cell phone. She tells her daughter that it was nice having her there and if she needs to talk about anything, to call. Lucky realizes that Gia didn't stay at Wyndemere. As they are taking photos, Gia is obviously on edge and blurts out to Lucky that she and Nikolas had a fight, but they will get past it. Lucky tells her that has given up caring what Nikolas thinks or does. Nikolas is seen arriving with flowers but when he overhears Lucky telling Gia that she will be better off without Nikolas and that now that she knows how the Cassadine's operate, she can have a much better career, Nikolas quietly backs away and leaves. Later, Sarah shows up to talk to Lucky and Gia disappears into her dressing room. Sarah informs Lucky about her previous meeting with Liz and that it is now official, Liz hates them both. Gia comes back into the room bursting with excitement. She tells Lucky that he won't believe who called and hugs him. Nikolas comes back with the flowers. He apologizes and Gia excitedly informs them that the senior fashion editor of a magazine called and they want her to do a cover. Lucky tells her that she can't do it because of her exclusive contract with DECEPTION. Nikolas reminds his bro that Gia can do a cover shoot, she just can't work for a rival cosmetics line. Nik and Gia leave before getting into an argument with Lucky. After they leave, Lucky and Sarah do some more of the "you make me feel alive, we shouldn't fight it" crap and they pretend that they are on an island far away. Later, we see Nik and Gia outside Kelly's, Nik asks Gia if he is forgiven. Gia says, not yet, but I can't stay mad at you for too long. Gia is excited about the cover. She tells Nik that now people will know she did it on her own, not just because her fiancé's mother owns the place. Nik tells her she will get to do it. Gia goes off to find a copy of the magazine and Nik makes a call to someone named Trevor. We learn that Nik had arranged the whole phone call.

@ KELLY's

Liz is busy working when Sarah shows up. She wants to talk, but Liz has nothing more to say to her sister.
AJ & Courtney show up and Courtney tells AJ that she wants to apply for a job at Kelly's, but he doesn't want her to work there. They do some more lovey-dovey talk (you're wonderful, I'm changed etc…). AJ tells her that he is going to give her everything she deserves without help from anyone.
Outside Kelly's Liz is met by Rosco who apologizes for his behavior last winter. Zander show up to defend Liz. He tells Rosco that since he's back in town he deals with Sonny, but if he comes near Liz, Rosco will then deal with Zander. Rosco apologizes and gives Liz some money and disappears inside the restaurant. Liz tells Zander that she was handling the situation. Annoyed, that Liz hasn't even thanked him, Liz then states that she is grateful, but she doesn't need protecting or rescuing from anyone. Zander heads inside.
When Courtney sees Zander, she approaches and tells him that she doesn't want to hear any messages he might have from Sonny. Zander informs Courtney that he no longer works for Sonny and has finally realized what everyone has been telling him. Sonny is only out for Sonny. Courtney goes back to AJ, surprised, and tells him what happened. She starts looking through the classifieds, but AJ doesn't want her to have to work. Courtney informs her husband that she will not be one of those wives who sits around waiting for their husband to solve everything. Outside Kelly's, Jason overhears Rosco telling someone on the phone that he thinks he found someone to help him move against Sonny.
As Courtney describes some of the job opportunities, Alexis arrives with cheque in hand. She passes it to Courtney who is about to hand it back, when AJ tells her to listen to Sonny's offer. Alexis explains that Sonny is aware of their situation and that the money has no strings attached. After ripping up the cheque Courtney informs Alexis that what Sonny means and what he says are two different things and that he just wants to be the hero. She tells her brother's lawyer that if Sonny wants to be the hero and help than let AJ see his son. Alexis listens intently as Courtney explains her feelings and emotions about growing up without knowing her father. Alexis agrees to pass the message onto Sonny and leaves. AJ thanks her for the kind words and Courtney says that she meant every word, but there is a catch. Now that she has turned down Sonny's money, she has the right to contribute to their finances. Reluctantly, AJ watches as Courtney goes in search of the manager. Instead, she finds Liz, who talks to her about the job. Courtney explains her and AJ's situation.

OUTSIDE SONNY'S PENTHOUSE

Carly is trying in vain to explain Zander's behaviour to Jason. She admits that she used Zander as a substitute for Jason because she missed him so much and that now Zander is feeling hurt and betrayed. Jason asks Carly if she told him that she loves Sonny, when she says yes, like 3 million times, Jason tells that Zander knew the situation going in and that Zander pushed things too far. It's not your fault, so don't try and fix it, Jason tells Carly. She admits that she is finished screwing up her life and wants everything to be as close to perfect as possible with Sonny and she owes it all to Jason. They hug and are about to leave, when Jason gets a disturbing phone call. Carly asks Jason, trouble for Sonny?

@ALEXIS's PENTHOUSE

Alexis is staring at the cheque that Sonny wants to give Courtney and he asks her what's wrong. She says that she finds it amazing how he can be so generous and perceptive one minute and completely obtuse the next. Sonny wants Alexis to be honest with him so they can start dealing with the problem. She starts to explain that its difficult, when Sonny interjects and asks if its about him and Carly getting back together. Frustrated she tells him that he is the most self-obsessed person she knows and that just because she's upset or there's something wrong, doesn't always mean that its about him. She tells him that she's happy for him. Sonny is about to respond when they hear a commotion outside the apartment. We learn that Johnny has refused to allow Ned inside and Ned is demanding to see Alexis. Alexis tells Johnny that just because Sonny is in her apartment it doesn't give him the right to ever screen her visitors. Ned comes in. Alexis tells him that it is not a good time and rushes out after Sonny says, We're not finished. Sonny asks Johnny to accompany Alexis to her car and Ned decides to stay behind and talk to the mob boss. Ned senses trouble in paradise between Sonny and his trusted attorney. Ned asks Sonny to please tell him what's bothering Alexis, he knows something is and he also knows that Sonny knows what it is. Sonny responds by saying that if there is something wrong with Alexis then ask her. Ned reminds Sonny how he destroyed Brenda's character and begs him not to do that to Alexis. Again, Sonny tells Ned to ask Alexis if he thinks something is wrong, Sonny isn't saying anything. He walks away and leaves an angered Ned.
Later, Alexis arrives back at her apartment and as she's fumbling with her keys, Ned pops out. She's surprised to see him still there. He was wondering the same thing. He follows Alexis into the penthouse. He starts in on her again about knowing something is wrong and that it has to do with Sonny. She tells him that despite what he thinks, Sonny fiercly cares and protects those he considers family. Ned explains that Sonny doesn't protect, he controls. There's a difference. Alexis tried to tell him to leave, but he refuses and continues to remind her who Sonny really is underneath it all. Now that he's back with Carly, where does that leave you, he asks. Alexis asks, why are you doing this? Because for the first time in a long time you seem to be listening. He finally leaves.
Later, Alexis is drinking a glass of milk, which she admits she would only drink for the baby. The following conversation ensues, between mom/baby: "As an officer of this court and your mother, I have a right to protect you. However, you have a right to know who your father is and he has a right to know you. I know that he will care about you and love you and I also know that I have to tell him now before I change my mind." She hesitates, but gets up and goes over to Sonny's. After knocking, she waits and Sonny finally arrives. We see Carly observing from the staircase through a mirror and overhear Alexis saying that she is sorry to bother him, but she has something important to tell him and it can't wait.

@SONNY's PENTHOUSE
Jason arrives and tells his boss that Rosco is back in town. Sonny states that Rosco is a fool and that someone that crazy needs to be stopped. Jason leaves, after assuring his boss he will take care of it. Later Carly shows up and Sonny announces that he should get her a key made. She seems shocked at first, but then accepts the offer. Sonny calls on the lie she told about seeing Michael's teachers. She admits she lied, but only because things were moving fast and wanted to stop before it all came crashing down around her. Sonny says that everything will work out as long as they are honest with each other. She informs Sonny that if Zander is bound and determined to screw up his life than she is finished with him. Sonny reminds Carly that the #1 rule of survival, is to keep your hands off the bosses wife. Affectionately, Carly reminds him that she's his ex-wife, so he really didn't have a vote in what happened. He tells Carly that he knew all along that she was doing it just to make him care. Carly admits to this, and says that she did that because she wanted him to care and mean it. He tells her that he does care about her and always will and that he means it. They start makin out.


@ THE DOCKS
Carly catches up with Zander and begs him to stop. Carly tries to tell him that their friendship meant a lot to her, but he won't hear any of it. Angrily, he tells her he knows she used him as a substitute for Jason, but she's right about one thing, she is a liar. He continues to tell her to go ahead and make a life with Sonny full of lies, backstabbing and deception and then running to Jason when they fight, since Jason's too stupid to realize when he's being used and obviously enjoys the fringe benefits of sleeping with Carly. She tries again to tell him that her and Jason are friends only, but he's not listening anymore. He says that he was honest, loyal and look where it got him, he owes her nothing. Carly states the obvious that he's just jealous because she's back with Sonny. He asks her, what do I have to be jealous about? I could have had you more than once, I just didn't take you up on the offer, but I should have. (I was waiting, patiently, for Carly to slap him right here, but it never happened.) She tells him that he was right about one thing, they are not friends any more and she leaves.
Later, Rosco shows up and wants to do a simple transaction with Zander, info on Sonny for cash. At first Zander is hesitant but eventually he tells Rosco the name of two of Sonny's holding companies. Jason watches from the shadows as Rosco hands him and envelope full of cash and promises that there is more where that came from.

ON THE NEXT GH:

1) Ned to Jax: "Kristina has accused me of obsessing over Alexis."
Jax to Ned: "Maybe she has a point"

2) Carly watches as:
Sonny to Alexis: "Are you sick?"
Alexis to Sonny: "No, I've been the doctor,"
Sonny to Alexis: "Good, I don't want you to be sick.

3) Jason observes as Rosco tells Zander that Sonny isn't the only game in town and that he will be in touch for more information.
