General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 5-Jun-2002

Okay... All in all a very good GH. Port Chuck was quite busy today so bear with me, this is LONG. I'm giving you fair warning!

@ THE PIER
Liz is seen stretching (before/after run, not sure which) when she senses someone behind. She turns around and finds Jason (I'm sooo happy he's back!!). She teases him about spying on her but he explains that he was on his way to Kelly's for coffee. She notices that he is still wearing the same clothes from the night before and asks if he was out all night. He explains that he went riding. Jason asks Liz if she did any painting, but she says that she spent most of the night thinking about him. She further explains to Jason that although she is embarrassed, she is not sorry about what happened. She explains that she doesn't want to take him for granted even though she keeps coming back to him when something happens with Lucky (ex, last summer). Jason tells Liz that he went with her last night because he wanted to and stopped because she wanted to. He tells her that if he feels he's being jerked around he'll say something. Liz finds out from Jason that yes they are still friends. She explains that she doesn't want to go on and on about Sarah and Lucky. She wants to find herself and Jason is the perfect inspiration because he doesn't care what other people think, to which he responds by saying that he does care what SOME people think, and he does whatever he feels like doing. Liz tells Jason that she is really glad he's back and he leaves to go meet with Sonny.
Later, Liz is accosted by Carly who demands that Liz tell her where Jason is. Liz plays coy and says that she has no idea, after all, Jason doesn't like to tell people where he's going. They get into their usual cat-fight and Carly tells Liz that she will never have the guts to go after Jason because deep down she is afraid of him and that he is too dangerous for her. Liz wants to know why Carly is looking for Jason, but guess right when she says that Carly probably screwed up again and wants Jason to save her butt. Liz makes a move to leave, but Carly grabs her wrist and DEMANDS to know where Jason is before she smacks her silly. Liz's response? TRY IT. But, alas, Zander intervenes.
Zander asks Carly what is going on and Carly wants to know why Zander automatically assumed it was her fault. Liz tells Zander that Carly was attacking her like crazy woman. She finally tells Carly that Jason went to Sonny's and she rushes off. Zander asks Liz what's up with Carly and Jason. Liz says that she has no idea, but muses that Jason is like her savior. When Carly screws up Jason saves her behind and she uses that to her full advantage. Liz apologizes because she knows that Carly and Zander are friends, but he admits that he needs to know what is going on between them. He tells Liz that he is tired of living by everyone else's rules and that it is time to take matters into his own hands. He is about to rush off but Liz quickly tells him that he should think first before he acts. Zander tells Liz that he is tired of thinking and rushes off.

@ AJ's PENTHOUSE
Courtney wakes up alone and goes looking for AJ. She finds him in the living room and explains that she was worried about him because of what happened the night before, she thought that he had left. AJ tells her that he didn't leave and that she is stuck with him forever. The talk about Rosie (the dog) for a few minutes and then AJ tells Courtney that he loves her unconditionally and that she has changed him and made him a better man because she saved his life. They talk about what they are going to do, travel etc., when Taggert shows up and hands AJ some papers. AJ discovers that he is being charged with every kind of business crime available (embezzlement, extortion, conspiracy etc.) Taggert tells AJ that ALL his assets have been frozen. A government agent steps in to further explain the charges and that AJ will be broke until they go to trial. Taggert explains that they have 1 hour to gather all of their basic needs (subject to approval) and vacate the premises. AJ wants to know who filed the charges when Edward walks in and announces that he did. He states that he wished it hadn't come down to this, but AJ left him no choice. AJ tells Edward to can the bs and that the charges are useless because he's done nothing wrong. He orders Taggert and co. to leave. Edward tells AJ that he is only doing what is best for his grandson and what had to be done. He explains that because AJ never followed through on anything and didn't the family's best interests to heart that he was forced to act. Courtney backs up AJ and tells them that this all about revenge and punishment because AJ finally stood up for himself against the family. Edward explains that he feels sorry for Courtney because she is being dragged into this, but he had no choice as AJ was heading down a very destructive path. Edward tells AJ that he will drop the charges if AJ will negotiate. Courtney yells at Edward and the cops to leave, but AJ says that he wants to talk to his grandfather alone. When they are alone, Edward informs AJ that he means business. Edward tells AJ that is committed to getting Michael back in the family whereas AJ isn't. Edward tells AJ that unless he is willing to help and does EVERYTHING Edward tells him he will be penniless and on the street. Edward tells AJ that Michael is the only good thing that AJ ever did and that was an accident. He says that even though Sonny is an immoral thug, at least he is efficient after all, he got AJ to back down. AJ says that he won't bargain with Michael to which Edward responds by saying that that was his plan all along, but now Edward is giving him reason to follow through. Money is more powerful than force. He offers AJ a one-time deal, help get Michael back or he is broke until he has full custody. According to Edward, AJ should use all of his resources, including Sonny's younger sister. Everyone comes back into the room and AJ apologizes and says that he has made a mistake. Edward explains that his grandson has something to say. (an amazing scene follows b/w AJ & Edward). AJ explains that he forgot who he was and what he owed his family. AJ turns to Edward and tells him to do his worst and to take his money, his legacy and the family he thinks he build and go to HELL. He turns to Courtney and tells her that they are officially broke. She is elated and the two leave to get their things, but not before Edward tells them that they will regret this. We later see AJ and Courtney on the docks. He is pissed because now they can't do everything they planned. But Courtney tells him not too worry, they will think of something.

@ Sonny's Penthouse

Carly is on the phone asking for Jason, who is not home. She is about to leave when Sonny comes down the stairs and asks her where she's going. She explains that she has a meeting with one of Michael's teachers as well as other things to do. Sonny tries to convince her stay. Carly admits that now that things are going so well between them, she doesn't want to screw them up or make any mistakes. Sonny agrees and tells her that they will take things as naturally as the come. He tries again to convince her to stay but she leaves anyway. Later, Jason shows up and they start talking about Carly's disappearance. Jason explains that some of the summer cabins were broken into and that someone spotted her eating at a diner. Sonny makes a joke about her eating habits. They talk about the distance between PC and where Carly supposedly was hiding out. Sonny muses that Carly could have been in the waters for hours thinking she was drowning, but Jason reminds Sonny that she was alright. Sonny admits to Jason that him and Carly now have a second chance at happiness and they might even try to have another baby (enter Alexis!) Jason and Sonny continue to talk about the coffee warehouse when Jason tells Sonny that he is done travelling and is home for good (YEAH!) Sonny asks Jason what took him so long. Jason explains that while he was traveling he was trying to figure things out and then started thinking about PC and about the people he loves and if they needed him. When he got the call about Carly, Jason explains, he knew it was time to come home. Sonny finds a contract that he needs Alexis to sign and rushes next door, leaving Jason to deal with Carly. Carly shows up and when Jason tells her that Sonny is at Alexis's he quickly points out that it is business. She relaxes and asks if he told Sonny. Jason tells Carly not to worry, he backed up her story. He further tells Carly not to screw anything up with Sonny. They have a second chance, don't blow it. Carly thanks Jason and tells him that she knows how she got what she wanted and they hug.

@ The Hospital
Alexis is waiting for Dr. Meadows to show up and begins looking around at the baby stuff. When the Dr arrives, she asks Alexis general pregnancy questions (nausea, dizziness etc). Then Dr asks Alexis about the father of the baby. Alexis tells her that he doesn't know and she isn't going to tell him. Dr asks if she thinks that is the right decision. Alexis explains that the father is with someone else now and that she all decisions are hers and hers alone. She explains to the DR, that she is not exactly a maternal person. Dr tells Alexis that she will no longer be an independent woman and if there is any thought to terminating the pregnancy, she must start thinking seriously about it now. Back at home Alexis is talking out loud to the baby (really funny). She explains to the unborn child, that although she doesn't know exactly what she is doing, she is a very quick study and will give the child everything she can, but , boy or girl, you will not be playing with guns no matter who your father is. She muses to herself if being a mobster is genetic. There is a knock at the door and Alexis quickly cleans up the baby stuff, minus a book that she leaves on the floor. She opens the door and Sonny asks if she is alright. She says she is, but he knows better and after going into the apartment tells her that he can help her with whatever is going on.
