General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 29-May-2002

At the pharmacy...

Alexis' trip to the drug store to buy a home pregnancy test is a nightmare. First she runs into the salesman (who I swear has to be Elton's brother), who loudly announces the sale on them. Secondly, she runs into Bobbie. Bobbie can tell something is wrong. She thanks Alexis for her support while Carly was gone. After Bobbie leaves, Scott shows up. I guess it makes sense that Alexis should run into all these people since this is the only time all year there will be a drug store in Port Charles. Anyway, she successfully evades Scott finally and manages to purchase the test.


At Kelly's diner...

Liz and Jason stare at each other for awhile, until finally Liz decides to get up and greet him. They both say how good it is to see the other. He can tell something's wrong; she tells him she broke up with Lucky. She tells Jason he was right about Lucky all along and it just took her a long time to see it herself. She partly blames the Spencer family (!!) for wanting the two of them to be together so badly. She asks him why he is back in town, but then apologizes for it later. He asks about her painting. Sarah is telling him how she ended up back in Port Charles but Jason, not one for small talk, takes off. Sarah comments that he is even weirder than before. She asks her sister if her and Jason had a "thing." Liz admits that she was attracted to Jason, but nothing ever came of it. She says things could lead somewhere, but she honestly isn't over Lucky yet. Then, she vows to focus on herself, to meet new people, to forget about the past, which includes both Lucky and Jason. She tells Sarah she will be her partner in crime. Woo hoo, bonds of sisterhood. Celebrate.


At Carly's house...

Sonny wonders when Carly's memory came back. She explains there were bits and pieces and wants to know if it was real or if he is going to deny it. He admits it was very real and reminds her that they were divorced, that it was ultimately HER decision to get the divorce and that she couldn't have expected him to remain celibate his whole life. He even admits it was only once with Alexis and that they don't have any long-term commitment. She still tries to guilt trip him over and over and is ridiculously angry, if I do say so myself. Her kiss with Zander is nothing compared to his sleeping with Alexis. So what if she tried to make him jealous? She isn't playing games. She even says she might never forget the vision of him and Alexis together. And she may never trust him again. He assures her that she does indeed trust him. After Sonny leaves, Bobbie shows up and tells her daughter there's going to be a party for her and for everyone that stood by Bobbie while Carly was away. Carly tells her to invite Alexis. (No, she's clearly not playing games. )


On the docks...

Lucky is taking pictures. Maxie is ogling, er, helping him. She tells him about this horrible math final she has the next day and he offers to help her study. She manages to turn it into a study "date" at his place. She leaves to run an errand and Felicia shows up. She gives Lucky the low-down on Maxie's crush. Lucky didn't see it, but promises to let her down easy.


At the clinic...

Maxie is getting a check-up so she can get her prescription for birth-control pills. She even gives the doctor major attitude, so I guess it isn't just reserved for her mother. The doctor gives her the sex talk, suggests abstinence, warns about disease, etc... Maxie insists this guy is the one for her and in the end, is given condoms and the prescription.


At the Quartermaine mansion...

Edward, Monica and Alan bicker about whether they are enabling AJ and whether they should kick him out. AJ and Courtney walk in and overhear. AJ announces to the family that Jason is back in town and gave him a death threat. The family is all aflutter to hear about Jason being back in town. Courtney gets mad when it seems they are choosing Jason over AJ, who is right there living with them. Monica explains that Courtney doesn't know Jason and is only seeing him through AJ's eyes. Edward tells her AJ is to blame for the way Jason is. AJ tells her this is typical. They sort of dream for a return of Jason Quartermaine, not Jason Morgan. Someday maybe. When they all turn around, AJ is gone! Courtney finally finds him, he was down by his comfort trees. She tells him she wants to be there for him when his family lets him down just like he was there for her when her family let her down. They embrace and AJ actually seems touched. Methinks AJ might actually be falling for his wife a little! Edward interrupts, though, and tells AJ in private that Mike fell for the stock tip and made a bundle on it. On to step two, they say. AJ insists that Courtney not find out about this. Later, as the Quatermaines conjecture over where Jason's been, AJ turns bitter and angry. Just as Edward reprimands him, Jason himself shows up.


In the hallway between Alexis & Sonny's penthouses...

Alexis has managed to buy the pregnancy test but she is standing outside her door struggling with the key, when Sonny gets off the elevator. He asks to help. The bag with the test is lying on the ground, with the test exposed!!
