General Hospital Update for Friday, 24-May-2002

ONCE AN ADDICT, ALWAYS AN ADDICT-
{Q House}
AJ and Edward watch Courtney frolic with Rosie, and then they discuss how best to alienate Courtney from her father’s advice. AJ tells Edward that they need to use Mike’s gambling addiction to their advantage. After informing Edward that Mike is invited over for dinner, AJ instructs his grandfather to “give” Mike an irresistible tip on the stock market. AJ happily outlines his plan. They will give Mike some good tips-at first, and then pull the rug out from under him with a bad tip. Mike will be stuck and AJ will “rescue” him in exchange for Mike distancing himself from Courtney. Courtney enters and the conversation is cut off. Edward tells Courtney that he is happy she feels at home enough to invite her family over (does that include Janine and Sonny I wonder?). AJ excuses himself on business and leaves Courtney to dine alone with her father…

WAITING ON PINS AND NEEDLES-
{On the docks}
Alexis walks slowly along the boardwalk reflecting on the recent events. Zander happens along and each asks the other if he/she is OK. Zander asks if she and Sonny are now a “couple”. Alexis tells him it’s not really any of his beeswax, but tells him “no we are not” anyways. She expresses concern for him when he tells her he intends to tell Carly how he feels. Then they both question how the other will react if Sonny and Carly DO get back together. Both give vague answers (in my opinion anyways). Before leaving Zander gives Alexis a sincere apology for the nasty things he said to her when they thought Carly was dead…

DISTRUBING BEHAVIOR-
{GH}
Bobbie comes across Scott paging Conrad (the lab tech) and questions why he is still harassing the man. Scott confesses that he, Roy and Luke don’t believe that the DNA “match” was really an accident. He tells her everything, including that they believe AJ was behind the whole thing. Conrad fails to answer the page and Scott goes off to look for him to offer a deal. He wants Conrad to finger the brains and money behind the scheme in exchange for leniency. While waiting for Scott to return Bobbie runs into Felicia and they discuss Maxie’s recent behavior which includes refusing a waitress job at Kelly’s and her infatuation with a certain hunky young Spencer. Later Scott returns and tells Bobbie that their suspicious were right-Conrad has cleaned out his locker and left the building. Bobbie is angry and upset but is confident that Luke will avenge the pain AJ caused everyone…

SECOND CHANCES-
{Sonny’s PH}
Sonny is surprised to see Carly at his door but invites her in. She asks if he is all right and when Sonny answers in the affirmative, she says “Thank God” and throws her arms around him. When he finally gets her settled on the sofa with a throw wrapped around her she confesses that she had a bad dream. She dreamt that she found his door open and walked in with the feeling something was terribly wrong. When she woke up she had to be sure he was OK, so she checked herself out of the hospital. Later he finally gets her to tell him how freaked out she was by arriving at her own funeral. They discuss how their perspectives (on several things), have been changed by the accident and her near “death”. Sonny tells Carly that the DNA match was no accident. Carly immediately realizes that AJ probably had something to do with it and is glad he didn’t find her or she might really have ended up at the bottom of the lake. Carly tells Sonny to stay out of it, it is her problem and she will deal with AJ. He warns her not to do anything she will regret. Carly says she feels as if she has been given another chance and doesn’t want to mess it up. He tells her that he is glad she didn’t really die before he had a chance to forgive her. Carly is stunned and asks if that means he HAS forgiven her…?

A STRANGER IS WATCHING-
{On the docks}
AJ walks along the wharf and runs into Luke. Luke lays into the younger man and informs him that it’s time for payback. Luke tells AJ he is not going to get off scot-free for his most recent crimes and especially NOT for causing Bobbie pain. Unaware to both of them, someone has arrived and is standing on the steps eavesdropping. (All we get to see is a set of black boot and a pair of jeans from the knees down). AJ scoffs at Luke’s anger and threats and makes the mistake of telling him that he is NOT anymore afraid of Luke than he is of Sonny. As the person on the steps watches, Luke swings and lands a punch to AJ’s midsection, which has AJ doubling over. Suddenly a woman’s voice yells out for Luke to stop and leave AJ alone. It’s Laura. She manages to convince Luke to leave AJ alone. Before Luke leaves he gives AJ one last warning. If AJ messes with or causes trouble or pain for Bobbie he will find himself on the wrong end of a broken bat. Alone with AJ, still unaware they are being watched, Laura scolds AJ for making Bobbie go through the death of another child. She points out that she knows how much that hurts. Laura tries to reason with AJ by telling him that when Michael is old enough HE will come looking for AJ himself. She points out that she herself is proof of that. She was forced to leave Nik, but when he was old enough he found her. She advises him to concentrate on making his life something Michael can be proud of. AJ gets sympathy by giving a heartfelt “why can’t anybody be on my side just once” speech. He gains more points by asking if Laura would ever give up on any of her children. But in typical AJ fashion loses them again by hinting that he is a better parent then she, because he won’t ever give up. Laura cautions him that his actions are only hurting him and warns that she will not be able to stop Luke a second time. Before leaving she adds that if AJ causes more pain for Bobbie she won’t even TRY to stop Luke…

HOOK, LINE & SINKER???-
{Q House}
Mike and Courtney are visiting when Edward enters the sitting room and gushes over his grand-daughter-in-law. He overdoes the “nice-to-see-you-we-need-to-let-bygones-be-bygones-now-that-we-are-family” routine. Courtney goes to check on dinner and Edward make his move. The phones rings right on cue, Edward answers and tells the unidentified person on the other end about a stock investment that is a “sure thing”. Mike’s ears perk up and he listen as Edward advises the person to buy stock in “Conrad Steel” ASAP. Later, during dinner on the terrace, Mike again advises Courtney to do what is best for herself regarding testifying at the hearing. Courtney goes on about what a great guy AJ is and what a wonderful father he will make. Mike excuses himself since he has to work. Courtney goes off to gather up Rosie for a walk. Mike pauses by the desk and recalls Edward’s hot tip. It is obvious he is intrigued…

TRY HARDER-
{GH}
Luke arrives and sadly informs Bobbie that AJ DID NOT get his comeuppance because of Laura’s arrival. Luke tells Scott to stop reporting his action to his financee. They engage in a typical Scott/Luke verbal battle. Bobbie asks for a moment alone with Luke and warns her brother that she is dating Scott and Luke has to make an attempt to get along. Luke promises to try but warns it won’t be easy…

THANKS A MILLION-
{Kelly’s}
Scott and Laura have coffee and she thanks him for helping her stop Luke. Scott disses Luke to Laura again but when she presses he admits that things are going well with Bobbie and he doesn’t want trouble with Luke to interfere…

HERE WE GO AGAIN-
{Sonny’s PH}
Sonny tells Carly that he is going to run out to the market to purchase some ingredients to fix a meal with. Carly is surprised that he is not going to answer her question-has he forgiven her? Sonny promises that once he returns and they eat, he will answer any and all her questions.
{Out in the hall}
Sonny waits for the elevator. When it finally arrives, Alexis is in it. They greet each other politely. Sonny tells Alexis that Carly is over and he going to prepare dinner for her. They exchange slightly awkward glances and words. Alexis moves away towards her PH but suddenly feels dizzy and has to lean against the wall. Sonny notices, takes her by the arm and asks if she is OK. Alexis assures him that she is fine. Suddenly, Carly opens the door to Sonny’s PH and step out to ask Sonny for something specific. She sees them standing close together and gets that look…
(You know the one-the one she always gets when she sees them together)

AS IF THINGS WEREN’T BAD ENOUGH-
{Docks}
After Laura leaves, AJ sits on a bench and drops his head into his hands. (Apparently he is more shaken up by his encounter with Luke than he let on). He is not paying attention, so he doesn’t see that the person who was watching before is now approaching, until that person is standing next to him. AJ catches a glimpse of the boots, drops his hand and looks up…

For all you Roy fans-A. Martinez has landed a role on a Lifetime Channel show called “For the People”, but not to worry because it will supposedly NOT conflict with his GH filming schedule, so he will be staying on in the role of Roy DiLucca too.
The role of “Aiden” has been axed due to the return of Steve Burton as Jason Morgan Q.
Ex-GHer Rena Sofer (Lois) is joining the cast of “Just Shoot Me” next season.

RUMORS-
{Not necessarily true, but usually amusing}
Genie Francis is leaving the show (again) THIS summer.
NLG contract is up in July and the role of Alexis will be either recast or killed off.
Though Carly and Sonny reunite things are less than perfect. –
Sonny can’t stop thinking about Alexis.
Carly finds herself torn between her love for Sonny and her newly realized feelings for Zander. –
Then there’s Jason!
