General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 22-May-2002

Okay, a fairly relaxed GH. Nothing too thrilling...

@WYNDEMERE
Gia is still listening to Nik and Sharifa. She enters and tells Sharifa that Martin is looking for her. After Sharfia leaves, Gia tells Nik that she ought to have him thrown in jail if what she thinks she saw is right. Gia begins to blast Nik. She goes on and on about how she has covered for him, defended him and lied for him. How can he do this? Hitting on Sharifa? Nik tries to interupt, but she won't give him a chance, so he kisses her, which calms her down. He tells her that she has nothing to worry about. He loves only her. He tells her that Sharifa is an undercover cop hired by Taggert. Nik tells her about catching Sharifa snooping and finding out from his men who she really is. Gia tells him about catching her at the computer. She can't believe that Nik wants her to continue to lie to her brother. He reminds her that he will always protect her and he has to do this to put an end to everything. Is she okay with what he has to do with Sharifa? Gia begs him not to do anything that will make Taggert loose his job. He promises to do everything he can to avoid that. Gia's mom(still can't remember her name) arrives and tells her its time to end things with Nikolas. She knows what is going on. Gia needs to rebuild her life. She deserves better than this. Gia tells her that they love each other and NOTHING will separate them.

@ KELLY's
Taggert and mom are discussing Nik and Gia and their involvement with Helena's escape. Taggert tells her about Sharifa and that he doesn't want to arrest Gia, but he might have to if Sharifa can't come up with more evidance.
Scott meets AJ and Courtney outside. They talk about AJ's new lawyer, who is apparently not up to par. Scott suggests he finds someone else. AJ can't understand why Scott won't defend him and go after Sonny (Courtney is inside saving a table), after all Sonny turned his daughter into a stripper/druggie. Scott reminds AJ that Carly is alive, Bobbie and Carly don't want him anywhere near Michael and that he signed his rights away twice. AJ reminds Scott that Sonny threatened his life and he wouldn't be surprised if Carly was behind it. He also wouldn't be surprised if Carly faked her own death as one of her schemes. Scott leaves and AJ heads inside to introduce his new lawyer to Courtney.
She tells them that Courtney's testimony against Sonny will be what they need to overturn the adoption and that all she has to say is that AJ would be a great father and how unfit Sonny is as a parent, because Courtney is his sister this will prove double weight to any family court judge. Courtney is obviously overwhelmed and doesn't want to testify, but says nothing and excuses herself from boring legal talk. After she leaves, AJ tells his lawyer that he will use Courtney to their full advantage.
Outside Kelly's, Courtney meets up with Mike. She tells him that she hates what is going on between AJ and Sonny and doesn't want to be a part of it. She tells him about what her role in the legal battle might be and that she might be the reason Sonny looses Michael. She admits that Sonny is an excellent father, but Michael is AJ's flesh and blood and deserves to at least see his son. She can't decide between supporting AJ or testifying against Sonny. Mike tells her to think about what is right for her and what she wants. He suggests that she simply back away and refuse to testify. He tells her that if she ever needs to talk to anyone about this, she can turn to him and it will be between them.
AJ and his lawyer come out and he introduces Mike. The lawyer leaves and Mike declines an invitation to lunch. Courtney tries to tell AJ that she doesn't want to testify, but AJ insists that she will be great and that his lawyer is so good she will prepare Courtney so well that she will hardly need to think. He ends up leaving in a hurry and leaves Courtney staring after him.

@Mrs. McIntyre's Apartment
Luke and Roy break into the womans apartment searching for clues that might lead to an explanation about the body confirmed to be Carly's. They find receipts and expensive stereo equipment and wonder how she can afford it. Luke says that someone with means, motive and opportunity has paid her off. Mrs.M enters with her two sons and demands to know who they are and what they want. They give a very convincing performance pretending to Ed McMahon types and tell her that she has won $1 million and can double it if she answers a few questions.(this is about the best part of today's episode, Luke and Roy are HILARIOUS). She believes them for awhile, but then announces that she will call the police unless they leave. The sons intervene and say they will "take care of it". Luke and Roy run out.

@CARLY's ROOM
Carly admits to Zander that she thought no one would show up to her funeral. He tries to apologize for their last night together, but she interupts him and tells him that she can't remember anything before or after the accident. She thinks that she has hurt Sonny again, really bad. She presses Zander to tell her what happened that made her so upset. He lies and tells her that he doesn't really know because he wasn't there. Carly thinks he is hiding something. When asked, she admits that she can't remember going to see Zander. He takes her hand and tells her how he prayed for her to be alive and that now that he has been given a second chance, he will get it right. She asks what he means by 2nd chances. Zander tells her that they had a fight, but it wasn't her fault as she suspects it was. She tells him not to blame himself. He tells her that if he could do it over again, he would never let her go. Zander tells Carly that she desrves better than second best and the accepts her for who she is. He tells her to forget the past and focus on the future and then leaves smiling.

@ ALEXIS's PENTHOUSE
Alexis asks how Carly is doing and after a quick explanation, Sonny gets to the point and wants to know what happens next. He asks Alexis if she wants to forget everything that happened. She says, is that what you want? Sonny admits that he can't forget because Alexis matters to him. She reminds him of the connection between him and Carly and how hard it must have been for her to hear how far things got between them. Sonny then admits that he still hasn't told her the truth. He wants Carly to be fully recovered before he lays that on her. If she doesn't remember herself, he will have to tell her. Sonny thinks that things should go back to where they were, but Alexis doesn't quite know what that was. She tells him that they were/are both consenting adults who made a decision that had consequences they couldn't even imagine. Sonny says that he will tell her right now how he feels, but Alexis decides she doesn't really want to have the converstaion anymore. He thinks she has a right to know how he feels, but she wants to talk about Carly. Sonny can't find the words to explain his feelings about Carly and wants to know why Alexis is doing this. She tells him its because they are both adults and they need to even if it hurts.

@TAGGERT's HOTEL ROOM
Sharifa arrives and tells Taggert about Nik's proposal, he is about to go and tear into Nikolas, but Sharifa stops him. He thinks it over and tells Sharifa to go for it. If the prince wants to sleep with her, than she should do it. Sharifa realizes that its only because it will give Gia more reason to hate Nikolas and she can't believe that Taggert would ask her to do this. He apologizes for crossing the line. She shoves the tape in the VCR and presses play. She leaves after she tells him to watch the tape and think about why he still has it.
Nikolas is found waiting outside the hotel room watching Sharifa leave and Taggert watching the tape.

OUTSIDE CARLY's ROOM
A mini scene involving Bobbie and Scott. He wants to take care of her and brings her some pizza. They talk about Carly. (that's it--literally)

NURSES STATION
Luke and Roy come out of the elevator trying to figure out who would claim Carly's body when it wasn't her. Scott approaches from behind and announces that he knows who is behind it.

ON THE NEXT GENERAL HOSPITAL:
1) Taggert tells Gia that times up. Prison or Law school?
2) AJ tells Edward that the best time to strike is when your enemy is weak.
3) Jax tells Carly that everyone, including Sonny missed her.
4) Scott tries to convince Luke/Roy that AJ is behind Carly's "death".
5) Alexis asks Sonny if he is still in love with Carly.
