After Lucky finishes telling Liz all about Sarah's late husband, Liz goes to find out from Sarah if it's true. Sarah confirms it and admits her attraction for Lucky. Liz makes it clear that seeing Lucky and Sarah together would make her crazy and Sarah promises that she would not go after him. Sarah uses an old childhood "pinky" shake to seal this promise and it looks like they might be on their way to forgiveness. Liz even offers to have breakfast with Sarah soon.
In the meantime, Lucky is working out some frustration. As he hits the bag, he flashes back to his recent encounters with Sarah. Maxie soon shows up on the scene (right after leaving mom at the Brownstown with a warning that she is grounded and is not to see Lucky!) and offers her "support" to her crush after he re-confirms that he and Liz are over. She soon hurries off to avoid getting caught.
As Lucky is leaving the gym, he passes Sarah dancing alone in a room to some slow music and goes to her. She briefly shows anger that he betrayed her by telling Liz about her late husband. Lucky stops her with a kiss that she seriously returns. So much for the "pinky" promise!
Back at the Brownstone, while waiting for Maxie to return from her "errands", Felicia and Roy have a heart to heart talk about how Bobbie's denial about Carly reminds him of how his mom reacted when his sister disappeared then was proclaimed dead. When Maxie returns, Felicia catches on that there was more than errands being run by her defiant daughter.
A.J. tells Courtney about his encounter with Michael and instead of the sympathy he was expecting he gets a lecture about how he should back off and not antagonize Sonny. Scotty shows up at the door and berates him for showing up at Bobbie's unannounced. He accuses A.J. of not really caring about Michael and withdraws as his lawyer. This wins him some sympathy with Courtney who promises to support him in his efforts to get his son back and to help him find a better way.
Sonny listens to Zander tells him how Carly saw him and Alexis in bed together then walks out without a word. Zander starts ripping the covers off of his bed and kicking the mattress in a fit of frustration and anger. Alexis shows up at the door and Zander tells her what Carly saw. He claims his share of the blame. Alexis tries to tell him it is not his fault and in his bitter anger he lashes out verbally at her telling her to get out and find Sonny so she can celebrate by taking Sonny back to bed. She walks out and is visibly shaken by the whole encounter.
Alexis heads to Carly's office at the club and begins going through her papers hoping in vain to find any evidence that Carly had taken off instead of being in the accident. Jax shows up and tries very hard to console her. Not knowing all of the facts makes it hard, but he sure tries. He gets her in a big hug and she cries on his shoulder telling him it's her fault. When Jax asks about Sonny she tells him she can't talk about Sonny. A phone call has her leaving immediately. She breaks down briefly before walking out with a very concerned Jax left behind.
Meanwhile, Sonny is back at his apartment and imagines Carly walking up the steps to his room. Tracing her footsteps, he looks in his bedroom door and sees the reflection of his bed in the mirror. He sees himself and Alexis on the bed as seen through Carly's eyes. He hears her and Michael wishing him a happy birthday and Carly saying "I love you more than my life."
Before he can get too upset, Benny walks in to talk some business. He expresses concern that Sonny's people are not too happy with the way he is handeling things. Sonny makes it clear that his people need to stop sharing their opinions and just do what they are paid to do. He also sends one of his men off to find out how the police found out about the aborted hit on A.J. He shares with Benny how strong a survivor Carly is and is adamate that she is alive. After Benny leaves however, Sonny sits defeated on the couch and it is clear that he has his doubts.
Later, Sonny is standing at the scene of the accident looking out towards the water when Alexis steps out of the shadows. They stand apart (emotionally it seems, as well as physically) and just stare at each other. The hurt in both of their eyes is very evident as the truth really starts to sink in.
In this viewers humble opinion, Maurice's Sonny is, of course, right on, and Nancy is doing a phenomenal job making Alexis' guilt and sadness believable and heartbreaking.
