General Hospital Update for Friday, 3-May-2002

Alexis tells Taggert that every hour wasted not hunting for Carly is crucial. Taggert assures her the department is doing its best. Alexis suspects that Taggart is giving the case low priority because of Sonny. Taggert hints Sonny has dumped tons of bodies into that lake, which have never been found. Alexis calls Taggart some un-nice names. He suggests that Alexis go to Sonny and encourage him to accept reality. Taggert gets a lead on someone who may have spotted Carly but assigns it to someone else and tells Alexis it's a long shot. Alexis decides to investigate.

Courtney awakes up and finds a note from AJ claiming she's the best thing that ever happened to him. AJ returns and announces that he saved the best surprise for last. He gives Courtney a puppy that he claims he found at a pet rescue center. Courtney is overjoyed because she has always wanted a dog but was never able to have one before. AJ encourages her to keep trying to build a relationship with her brother, and vows that he would never use Courtney to get Michael. When Courtney insists that they share their problems, AJ asks if it's wrong for him to want his son.

Michael claims that he saw Carly in Bobbie’s backyard the previous night. He says Carly told him that everything was OK and that he should stay with Bobbie. Jax comes in at the end of the conversation and Bobbie hugs him and tells him joyfully says that Carly is alive. Bobbie relates Michael's story, which Jax finds impossible to believe but humors Bobbie and tells her that it is wonderful news. Later, after Sonny arrives, Jax questions the validity of Michael's story and points out the holes in tale but Sonny tells him to back off. Bobbie believes Michael's story and suggests that Carly could be suffering from a head injury. Sonny thinks that Carly is cooling off about something and will return in a day or two. Jax tries to reason with Sonny but gets nowhere. Bobbie asks Sonny if Jax could be right and Sonny promises to find Carly. Bobbie tells Taggert Michael saw Carly. Taggert says maybe he should have paid more attention to the last lead he received.

Alan advises Edward to stop encouraging AJ. Monica complains about her birthday turning into an annual disaster just as Rae Cummings walks into the Q mansion. Monica mockingly thanks Rae for the birthday surprise. Edward makes jokes about Monica being on medication. Rae says Skye invited her. Monica offers Rae cake. Edward promises Rae that he'll make sure Monica doesn't place any explosives under her car. Rae apologizes for interrupting Monica's birthday two years in a row but Monica doesn’t want to hear it. Rae tells Alan about Skye's newfound happiness. After Rae reveals that there's a man involved, Alan surmises that it must be Jax.

Alexis goes off exploring on her own in the bad side of town. She does find a woman, in a deserted place, who appears to be Carly-from behind. She calls out, but the woman is a stranger. The woman is rude and tells Alexis that now two people are missing. A tattooed thug shows up and threatens Alexis. Sonny shows up and the thug does an about face. He apologizes to Mr. Corinthos and beats a hasty retreat after promising to help in the search for Carly. Sonny scolds Alexis for putting herself in danger. Alexis insists she was only trying to help. Sonny says that he has enough on his mind without having to worry about losing Alexis too.

Edward complains about the new puppy. Mike visits Courtney and she tells him about the hit on AJ. Mike is doubtful it’s true. He tells Courtney that if Sonny wants something done, it gets done, and points out that AJ is still alive. Edward wants Mike thrown out but AJ insists that Mike has a right to see Courtney. Mike finds out that AJ has not given Courtney the gift he asked AJ to pass on to her. The gift turns out to be a locket that was Mike's grandmothers. Mike admits that he pawned it and finally got enough money to get it back. Edward eavesdrops on the touching moment.
Jax returns to Skye, who is still sleeping. He sadly informs her that the woman at the hospital isn’t Carly. He tells Skye he is worried about Bobbie's insistence that Carly is alive. Skye is supportive. Jax decides that it might be better if he just leaves Sonny and Bobbie alone. Skye decides it's her turn to take care of Jax. She undresses him and leads him into a waiting candlelight bubble bath. The bath, of course, leads to sex.

Monica gazes longingly at some family photos. Later she presents Alan with a birthday gift-divorce papers.

AJ shows up at Bobbie's and demands to see Michael.
