General Hospital Update for Friday, 26-Apr-2002

Sonny questions Zander on why he believes that it was Carly's car that went into the lake. Zander is hesitant to explain to Sonny and Alexis why Carly was so upset when she left his place the night before. Sonny orders Zander to keep looking for Carly and contact him as soon as he knows something. After Zander leaves, Alexis offers to help by making calls to see what she can find out. Sonny, apparently in denial, claims there is no need as he is sure Carly is fine, then calmly goes to make cappuccino�

Gia is miffed when she learns that Nik invited their new �friends� to stay at Wyndemere indefinitely and extracts a promise for some alone time after her photo shoot. Sharifa overhears and waggles an invitation to the session. Marcus drops by the Deception photo shoot to give Lucky a word of warning. After Gia arrives on the set, Elton has a hard time keeping the peace between Gia and Lucky they bicker continuously while on the set. Lucky quickly calls a wrap to the session claim he has enough pictures and can get more later-on a different set if needed�

Alan has to bite his tongue and swallow most of his remarks as he watches an unwitting Courtney thank AJ for his honesty. After Courtney leaves, Alan blasts A.J. for cruelly deceiving the gullible girl. They have a bitter argument, when Alan reveals that Skye told about AJ�s drinking-which AJ denies�

Jax continues to wait at Kelly's for Carly to appear for their meeting. Bobbie thanks him for helping boost her daughter's self-confidence. Zander shows up looking for Carly, but only manages to alarm Bobbie. Realizing this Zander doesn�t reveal what he suspects about the accident or the fact that Carly was extremely upset the night before. Jax also realizes something is wrong and tries to reassure Bobbie by claiming that HE is mistaken about the day he are Carly where to meet. Outside Jax confronts Zander about his lies and Zander reveals what he suspects-that the car that went over the cliff was Carly�s. They go to the police station to try and get more information. All they manage to learn is that the car is in DEEP waters and the divers have only managed to get the license plate number so far�

Nik returns to his office and finds an old (very old) typewriter has mysteriously appeared next to the computer. More disturbing is the single sentence typewritten on the inserted paper �When is the sun like the dark of the moon and never brought to the light�. When Sharifa enters the office Nik pops out of the secret tunnel and harshly questions her about the riddle. She denies all knowledge; she was only retrieving the directions to the photo shoot that Gia had left for her. Nik apologies, but later at Kelly�s, it is revealed that Sharifa not only knows Taggart, she is working undercover for him�

Monica also tries to talk to AJ about Courtney. She tells him that she is not sure that AJ returning to live with the family that has been a major contributing factor in his downfalls is a good idea. A.J. admits to Monica that he did some drinking on his honeymoon, but places the blame on Sonny and everybody else�s untimely arrival. Then he launches in to an Emmy winning performance-completely with wavering voice and watery eyes-on how he needs his family, especially his mother now or he WILL continue to slip. Monica buys it lock, stock and barrel and invites him to stay for as long as he wants�

After Lucky�s abrupt halt of the photo session, Gia will not let him walk away and demands he hear her out again. She tries to convince him that Nik is pining away for him and Liz but Lucky will have none of it. Instead he gets on Gia�s case for telling Liz that she saw Lucky and Sarah kissing. They argue some more, suddenly Nik shows up and tells Lucky �This has got to stop��

Courtney shows up at the penthouse with Sonny favorite pastries to wish her brother a happy birthday. Sonny acts surprised to learn she is back from her honeymoon, but is clearly touched that she knows it�s his birthday. As they sit around drinking coffee Courtney expresses the belief that she is like an ambassador bringing peace between her husband and her brother, because they both love her, just like they both love Michael. Sonny immediately goes cold and expresses the thought that AJ sent her. Courtney�s claims that she is acting by herself in an effort to get to know her nephew/stepson are cut short when the phone rings. Sonny answers to hear Zander tell him that the license plates on the car at the bottom of the lake are a match for Carly�s vanity plates�CC101�

Courtney goes to see Sonny on his birthday. Sonny becomes upset when he realizes that she's come about Michael.
Sonny tells Courtney to tell her husband that "the trade" will not happen- ever. After Sonny leaves, Alexis tells Courtney about Carly's car accident and about the trade AJ proposed to Sonny. Courtney is shocked when AJ gives a twisted smirk when given the news about Carly.
Who left a riddle for Gia and Nikolas? Lucky insists it wasn't him. Gia and Nikolas are angry with Lucky and leave the photo shoot.
Maxie wants Lucky to be her first lover and she is delightedly pleased with herself when she manages to get a job as his assistant.
Sharifa gives Nikolas a photo of his father. It was found at Wyndemere; but how?
Scotty finds out that Carly's car crashed and he goes to tell Bobbie. Bobbie believes he is there on behalf of AJ to talk about his rights with Michael. Bobbie quickly realizes that Scott has a more serious matter to discuss and Sonny shows up and Scott shares the news.
Alone again, Alexis remembers her night of passion with Sonny.
Zander tells Jax that he was with Carly right before she drove away and he feels guilty. Sonny is beyond furious when Zander tells him that he taught Carly to drive, but things quiet down fast when Jax gets the car out of the water.
Jax pulls Carly's car up; no body is found--he thinks of Brenda
Kristina and Zander bond...and Ned sees them. Later, Kristina and Ned talk about their feelings.
A body is finally found.
Skye tells Edward to call AJ off, and she'll give up ELQ.
Courtney asks her husband about the deal he tried to make with Sonny, but AJ tries to turn the tables and blame Sonny. AJ worries that he may lose his power over his young bride.
Kristina tries to help her sister emotionally, but Alexis is upset and tries to find comfort with Sonny.
Skye is worried about Jax's reaction to Carly's accident.
Gia is ticked about Lucky's continued rudeness during the photo shoot, but Laura tells her that she will not take sides between them and that Gia shouldn't try to insist that she does.
Courtney thinks about what a dang good liar Gia is and asks her to set a trap to see who is lying to her.
When AJ tells his grandfather about Carly's crash, Edward tells him to put his energy into his marriage to Courtney if he still plans to get custody of Michael.
Nikolas is shocked at Gia and Courtney's new found friendship.
Courtney hears Edward and AJ talking about the marriage as a means to an end-- Michael. They try to cover up their discussion, but Courtney is on to them.
Over dinner, Gia asks AJ about his love for Courtney, and if he fell for her at first sight.
The police interrupt before AJ has to think of an answer and tell them that Sonny might have ordered AJ's death.
The back door to the Brownstone swings open; and Michael has vanished. A very distraught Bobbie is the one to tell Sonny that Michael's gone. Sonny decides to check on AJ and Courtney.
Luke reluctantly lets Nikolas help with the search.
AJ tells Courtney about the hit Sonny may have ordered and this gets Courtney back on his side. Sonny arrives and Courtney brings up the hit on AJ. She believes her husband rather than her brother.
Zander goes to search for Carly but he gets a warning from Capelli.
Alexis decides to try and find Carly herself, but Sonny ends up as her white knight when thugs threaten her safety.
