General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 3-Apr-2002

All of the action happened in one of three locations today…

AT CLUB 101:
Nik, Gia and Sarah are concerned when Liz freezes up. As the memories of the accident come flooding back, Liz excuses herself and hurries to the ladies' room. Meanwhile Nik and Gia regale Sarah with details of how they felt about each other when they first met. As time passes and Liz does not return, Sarah becomes concerned and decides to check on her sister. In the ladies room, Liz brushes aside Sarah protective gestures and concern and asks if her sister noticed how much Gia drank the night of the accident. Sarah tells Liz that though Gia denies drinking her champagne, she remembers Gia draining the glass, despite Nik saying HE drank it. She also informs Liz that Gia did NOT have a BA test done at the hospital after the accident, as required. Liz asks Sarah to give her another few moments alone and NOT to mention to the others what they have spoken about. Out on the floor, Gia tries to cajole Nik into dancing with her to take his mind off of Helena. Later, Gia seeks Liz out in the ladies room. When Gia’s rambling touches the subject of the accident, Liz confronts her with the truth. She tells Gia she REMEMBERS the accident. Gia tries to convince Liz that she is confused, but Liz realizes that NIK & GIA pressured her to give a false statement to the police. She also realizes that they used her to help frame Sonny’s sister. When Liz wonders how Nik could do this, Gia immediately puts her foot (all the way up to her knee) in it when she blurts out “Leave Nik out of this. He’s having enough trouble because of what did”. Which leaves Liz with the question “What do you mean?”…

AN UNKNOWN BAR:
Helena watches from a corner table while Roy, Luke and Felicia brainstorm about how to track her down. It becomes obvious (to me at least) that Helena WANTS to be seen when she walks directly into Luke’s line of vision. When Luke finally spots Helena and starts to follow her, a man Helena paid to pick a fight with Luke impedes his progress. Next thing you know, a barroom brawl breaks out. By the time things calm down all Luke gets to see is Helena walking out the door, leaving the fearsome threesome to continue wondering WHAT Helena is up to…

AT THE POLICE STATION:
Inside-
Zander tries to persuade Skye to drop her charges by appealing to her sense of fair place (as if). He reminds her that she has also made mistakes-like the one that put Emily on a bus and directly in to a wheelchair. He points out that Emily quickly and graciously forgave her. Nice try, says Skye, but I’m not letting Sonny off the hook.
Outside-
Carly continues to plead with Jax to believe her confession and help her get Sonny sprung. Jax stands firm in his belief that Sonny needs to pay. Carly finally manages to convince Jax that SHE is the one guilty of pushing Skye into the boatshed when she tells him, she might not be able to remember the words, but the note was written in BLUE CRAYON, something she couldn’t possibly know unless she wrote it! Skye exits the station house in time see Carly and Jax conversing. Skye draws comfort from Jax, but is stunned when he advises her to drop the charges against Sonny. Jax tells her that Carly, not Sonny, is responsible for her ordeal. Skye is elated because she thinks that she has found the means to get both Sonny and Carly. When Jax advises her to let the matter drop she lashes out accuses him of getting what he wanted from her and moving on to the next damsel-Carly. Jax tells her that when Sonny gets lock-up he wants it to be for something he actually did. When Skye announces that she “remembers” voices and names from the night before, Jax tells her that if she lies he will expose the truth. Skye reminds him that Sonny is after AJ, but Jax tells her again that he has NO sympathy for her brother, who brought Sonny’s wrath down on himself. He warns her about the difference between anger and revenge.
In the holding cell-
Alexis insists on keeping a claustrophobic Sonny company. Sonny paces his cell like a caged animal and snarls at Alexis in an effort to get her to leave him alone. Alexis guesses correctly that he is trying to get rid of her because he doesn’t want her to witness his panic. She bravely shouts at Sonny that she won't be the target for his rage and frustration. When Sonny snarls at her again, she picks up her briefcase and walks away. As the echo of her footsteps fade away, Sonny starts to feel the walls closing in. Shortly, thereafter, he hears the sound of approaching footsteps and tentatively calls out to Alexis, who reappears with a friendly and calming smile. To keep the phobia at bay, Sonny asks Alexis to regale him with the first time she had one of her panic attacks. Most of the story is lost in the background as we get to hear and see it from Sonny’s point view-which is quickly fading farther and farther away. We got enough to know that it happened after she was sent to boarding school (at the age of 14) and thought Helena showed up one day. The conversation turns to uniforms and field trips, and they end up wondering if they might have seen each other at a ballet performance. Seems it was a regular trip for the schoolgirls, and Sonny confesses he treated his mother to a matinee performance as soon as he could afford it, and wouldn’t you know it, there was a gaggle of uniform wearing schoolgirls in the next box. Sonny thanks Alexis and admits that having her around helped him deal with his phobia. Taggart returns and announces that ADA Jenson has arrived. He escorts the duo back to the offices.
In the interrogation room-
Mac tells Skye that he doesn’t think the case will hold, but she is welcome to give her statement to Dara for review. Jax tells Carly that he asked Skye to drop the charges, but admits he doesn’t know if she will listen to him. Alexis insists on sitting in on Dara and Skye’s interview. As Sonny, Jax and Carly watch through the window, Dara begins her questioning. “Now, Miss C-Q, can you tell me how you managed to get yourself in to this predicament?”…
