General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 26-Mar-2002

Skye demands to be released from the boathouse, when that doesn’t work she tries threatening. She warns that whoever is doing this will be sorry when they have to answer to the Q’s AND Jax. Then she has a thought; what if whoever is out there KNOWS who she is and isn’t afraid of the Q’s or Jax? Her growing terror has her immediately thinking its Sonny! Her thoughts are confirmed when Carly slips a note under the door warning that if she doesn’t help get Courtney back, BOTH she and AJ will be sorry.

Sonny (still in robe and mussed hair) gives further instructions over the phone in the continuing search for his sister. Alexis tries to convince Sonny that going after her and AJ will only aggravate things further. She advises him to be patient and let Courtney realize her mistake on her own. Then he can be there for her when she is ready to open up to him. Sonny explains why he can’t wait and take the chance that AJ will hurt her physically or do permanent emotional damage. Alexis beats a hasty exit when Sonny announces he is going to take a shower…

Taggart arrives in Carly's office and demands Jax rescind his offer of a reward for Helena's capture. He tries to get Bobbie to convince Jax that the many calls his offer has generated are only making the Police’s job more difficult. Bobbie tells Taggart that due to the PCPD’s track record she doesn’t have a whole lot of confidence in their ability to keep her family safe from Helena. In her opinion, the more people looking for Hels the better. Jax offers financial help in getting more law enforcement on the case, but refuses to rescind his offer of a reward. Taggart stomps out but not before warning Jax that if his “reward” ends up getting Gia hurt, Taggart will hold him responsible. A few minutes later, Carly bursts in and unaware that Jax is behind the door disposing of some trash, she happily boasts to her mother that she got best of Skye.

In the Q living room, Monica gives voice to everyone’s thoughts; Skye was right-they all share in the blame for AJ’s actions. Edward, typically, denies it and tries to point the finger elsewhere. His target this time-Carly “after all she started it all by helping Sonny take Michael away”. Alan says he feels as though THEY gave AJ lots of support, but ends up admitting that he blames himself for believing AJ and helping him use Courtney. Ned (apparently the only one who lives in the present) says they can all sit around blaming each other or they can try to figure out WHERE AJ is. Alexis (who has just arrived) seconds THAT choice.

On the docks, Laura gets very upset when Luke says he thinks Nik and Gia are hiding something-possibly Helena. Laura tells Luke that Nik hates Helena and would never help her. She further reminds him that Nik proved himself when he fought with them against his own father. Laura says if Luke thinks Nik is evil and hates him again, she doesn’t want to live with him again. Luke explains that Gia was very nervous and acting weird and eventually so was Nik. Luke reminds Laura that Helena’s helpers’ aren’t always willing or even knowingly helping her.

After arriving at the stables and confirming his suspisions, Nik angrily jumps on Gia for appearing to help Helena. He whips out his phone and is about to call the Police when Helena tells him the nurse and orderly who helped her will swear that NIK pressured them to help her. Gia pleads with Nik to give Helena the money and let her go. Helena adds that she KNOWS Gia ran the light and Nik tampered with a witness to cover it up. Taggart shows up to check on Gia. Helena hides in a stall while Nik and Gia manage to convince him all is OK. Helena thanks Nik for covering for her, but Nik tells her he didn’t help HER, he’s helping the people he loves-Gia, Lucky, Liz, Alexis, Kristina, Laura, Leslie-Lu and EVEN Luke. Helena tries to convince him she is no longer a threat, that she has no will for revenge now that her precious Stavros is gone. She says that she doesn’t think HE is worthy of taking over since he would rather align himself with the enemy AND deny his father every chance he gets.

Alexis tells all that Sonny is willing to give AJ a “free pass” if Courtney is found and returned immediately. Edward tries to insult Alexis by saying she is lying to help Sonny. But Ned defends her and says that if Alexis believes Sonny wouldn’t hurt AJ, it must be true. Alan finally confesses (despite Edward’s objection) that the helicopter was headed for JFK. With a thanks to Ned and a reassurance to a worried Monica, Alexis heads out.

Skye tries to find comfort by reassuring herself that someone will look for her soon. Then, she lapses into bout of self-pity as she realizes that she has managed to drive a wedge between herself and ANYBODY who might have cared. She gets angry at AJ when she realizes that she can lay the blame for all of it, at his door. She finally does hear someone outside but doesn’t call out because she is afraid it’s one of Sonny’s men. She convinces herself that this “person” might kill her if she doesn’t give the right answers to his questions. She is completely unaware that the person outside is Alan. Cold and afraid, she starts to look for another way out. She manages to find a trap door in the floor. She can jump down and swim away, but the water is F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G!

Bobbie excuses herself to let Carly and Jax talk business. Jax asks Carly what she did to Skye, but Carly lies saying she only gave Skye a piece of her mind. She does admit she WISHES someone WOULD hurt Skye. She gives Jax a detailed description of what she would do to Skye in a W-W-F type-wrestling match. Jax’s knee-jerk defense of Skye makes Carly ask if Jax has fallen for her. When Jax vehemently denies it, Carly give him the “love” test. Despite (or because of) Jax’s non-answers Carly realizes it’s really true and advises him to “RUN” away from his feelings and Skye before she ends up trashing his life. Jax points out that he gave Carly much the same advise about Sonny and she didn’t take it. After Jax leaves, Bobbie returns and presses Carly into telling her what happened with Skye. Bobbie warns Carly that she might have gone too far, but Carly scoffs saying that she didn’t actually hurt Skye, just scared her. Still worried, Bobbie seeks legal advise from Scotty who warns an acquittal could be iffy if the “hypothetical” situation was brought to trial. His advice is for the “perp” to turn herself in and have the “victim” released ASAP.

Jax knocks on Skye’s hotel room door but get no answer…

Luke returns to Spoon Island and begins to snoop around-I mean “investigate”…

Skye gathers up her courage, slips off her shoes, sits on the edge of the trap door opening and slips her feet into the water below…

Johnny shows up with an envelope addressed to Sonny. Inside are (instant foto-booth) pictures of AJ and Courtney laughing and playing about. Upset, Sonny gets dressed and takes off…

Alexis and Carly run into each other on the Q estate…
