General Hospital Update for Thursday, 21-Mar-2002

At GH, Luke forces Mac into a press conference to announce the manhunt for Helena. Mac gives minimal details to the press and later gets on Luke’s case for making his job MORE difficult-the PCPD is receiving tons of Helena sighting calls. Mac practically accuses Luke of HELPING the dragon lady escape, but Bobbie jumps to his defense. After Mac leaves, Luke asks Bobbie for any info she may have gleamed on Helena’s escape. Bobbie offers several theories, one in particular gets Luke’ interest and he takes off…

Laura shows up at the Scorpio-Jones home (which happens to be the old Webber home) and asks Felicia for a favor. Felicia tells Laura she is sincerely happy about her reconciliation with Luke and offers congrats on the upcoming wedding. Laura tells Felicia that she is looking for her wedding dress and Leslie believes it is in the attic of her old house. Felicia agrees and even helps Laura search through the jumble of old Webber things and more recent Scorpio-Jones stuff. They find the box, but not the dress. Laura thinks Helena may have had something to do with the vanished heirloom, but Felicia thinks it could have been one of the girls (Robin, Maxie or Georgie) playing dress-up, who could have mis-placed it. Later, when Felicia questions her girls about the missing dress, Maxie takes offense (like ALL teenagers do) and accuses Felicia of believing the worst of her. Georgie doesn’t help matters as she chooses that moment to tell Felicia she saw her sister SMOKING earlier. A claim Maxie denies…

Edward and Skye bump heads at ELQ HQ over everything. Edward is his usual blustery self, while Skye appears to be a pod person. She is unusually nice, sweet and understanding in her attitude towards her grandfather. Jax arrives with some business documents. After Edward excuses himself to take a private call, Skye takes exception to a remark from Jax. She reverts to her usual self and attacks him. While Jax is trying to explain that he does feel something for her, but she is the one insisting on cutting off her nose to spite her face, Edward returns with the news that Helena has escaped. Jax is taken aback at the news and promptly dismisses the conversation as he rushes off. Shortly thereafter, Skye tricks Edward in to leaving the office and going to a “business meeting”…

While Sonny reads AJ’s note, Carly and Alexis hold their breath waiting for his reaction. Struggling to maintain his composure, Sonny crumples the note and flings it away, walks to the bar and pours himself a drink. With his permission, Alexis retrieves the note and reads it aloud. It is apparent that AJ is taunting Sonny, as he informs the mobster that Courtney is “safe” with him and she “choose” to go away with him and “wants” Sonny to leave her alone. Benny arrives and the women excuse themselves so the men can talk “business”. Sonny issues some explicit instructions to Benny. He wants every person they “employ” in every place around the world to look for the pair. He wants all favors called in, and every resource used in the hunt for Courtney. He orders Benny to be make sure the men (Ken and Tim) who let Courtney and AJ escape, are NEVER in a position to let him down again! Oh and if possible – he wants Jason found (Hallelujah!) Benny warns that the cost for what Sonny wants done will be high, high enough to put him in the debt of others. Later, Sonny converses (in Spanish) with a man named Javier, whom he asks to be on the look out for Courtney. He tells Javier that he wants Courtney found, but not frightened and says he owes him. After pouring himself another drink, Sonny retreats to the balcony and replays scenes with Courtney and AJ over in his mind. Suddenly he picks up his things and rushes out the door…

Out in the hallway, Alexis tries to warn Carly NOT to do anything about AJ on her own. Alexis tries to tell Carly that if she does something rash, it may not only hinder Sonny’s attempts to find Courtney, but also damage Carly’s relationship with Sonny. However, Carly’s paranoia keeps her from understanding that Alexis is trying to help not just Sonny, but HER also. Carly goes straight to her club where she finds Zander and asks him “How far are you willing you go with me?”

After catching Gia trying to open the wall safe, Nik demands an explanation. Gia thinks fast and claims she wants LOTS of money to give to Lucky and Liz in case they need to make a fast escape. Its unclear weather Nik buys her story or not. As he is warning her that she needs to ask BEFORE she takes, Nik receives a call from his security. They have spotted someone down by the stables. Despite Gia’s pleas, Nik insists on investigating himself. However, it is NOT Helena he finds in a stall, but Luke. Luke explains that someone saw Helena on the road headed in the direction of Spoon Island. Nik doesn’t think Helena would show up at Wyndemere; no one there would help her. But Luke finds evidence that he believes indicates otherwise. After agreeing that Helena would need LOTS of money (gosh where has Nik heard that recently?) they head up to the house to check the Cassadine accounts (via computer) for any suspicious transactions. Meanwhile, Gia checks with her accountant about liquidating her assets but comes up short, both on time and money. Entering the house via the tunnels, Helena (still pressing a hand to her abdomen) corners Gia again and pressures her to find a way to come with up more dough. Gia, hearing Nik and Luke approaching, tries to hurry Helena back into hiding. She is slowed down when, with a gasp of pain, Helena clutches her abdomen and doubles over…

Laura goes to GH looking for Luke. Once there she asks Bobbie to be her maid-of-honor. Bobbie is delighted (They’ve come a long-long way) and accepts! After hearing what Bobbie told Luke, Laura says she knows EXACTLY where Luke went and takes off after him…

Jax knocks on Alexis’ door and tells her of Helena’s escape. He wants both Alexis and Kristina to move on to his yacht until Helena is found, but Alexis refuses to run and hide. Jax thinks that Alexis is reluctant to leave in case Sonny needs her. Alexis vehemently denies it- again! As she escorts Jax to the elevator, proclaiming that she is done explaining and apologizing for her relationship with Sonny, she notices that his door is ajar. She (with Jax right behind her) decides to investigate since that is a strange occurrence. Inside they find no trace of Sonny and Alexis wonders out loud where he could be…

At ELQ Skye closes a big deal over the phone and congratulates herself on making a big killing. She gathers her things and rises to leave, but suddenly drops back into her chair as she sees Sonny lurking in the doorway…
