General Hospital Update for Thursday, 7-Mar-2002

Well, I for one am looking forward to the opening of Carly's club. Eespecially to learning the name-if it has one. We KNOW it can't be "The No-Name" cause there is already one of those in this town.
That said, lets get on with today's episode which was pretty much what you would expect on a Thursday...

COULD YOU BE MORE OBVIOUS?…
At Wyndemere Sonny manages to see Liz despite Nik’s protest that Liz needs to rest and put the accident behind her. Sonny becomes more determined to see Liz after Gia joins in and tell him that talking about the accident only distresses Liz. Once Sonny gets a chance to speak with Liz she assures him that she is doing very well, might take him up on his offer to return to his casino island-soon, doesn’t need anything as her family and friends are catering to her every need and doesn’t hold a grudge against his sister. After Sonny leaves Gia says she doesn’t like him cause he is dangerous; Liz defends the mobster saying he has always been good to her even before the accident. Lucky agrees that Sonny is a decent person-as long as you don’t cross him. Nik and Gia dance attendance on Liz and Sarah comments to Lucky that she thinks it’s strange that the engaged couple is soo attentive to her sister, but she stops short of telling Lucky her doubts about the accident. Later, Gia confesses (to Nik) that she is worried that Sonny doesn’t believe them and is afraid he will find out they lied. Nik assures her that even though Sonny is a force to be reckoned with on the Eastern seaboard, his own influence extends worldwide. If it came down to it, he would have the resources to stop Sonny and promises Gia he will do WHATEVER it takes to keep her safe.

IF YOU SCREAM AND NO ONE HEARS…
In the PC Hotel parking garage AJ tries to retreat to the elevator only to have his escape blocked by third goon who informs him that his muscle bound assistants are stuck in an elevator for the time being. AJ appears to be out of luck when suddenly Skye exits the elevator and demands to know what is going on. AJ informs her it’s a lesson on intimidation, to which Skye quips, “It’s working”. She offers AJ a ride in her car, only to have a fourth goon appear, describe her car and tell her it’s blocked in by two “stalled” vehicles. Skye promptly opens her mouth and lets out an ear-piercing scream. Several minutes later, when AJ gets her to stop, Sonny’s men mock the security in the garage “You’ve been screaming for 5 minutes and no security has arrived” one says. While another comments “If you’d really been in trouble you’d be a goner by the time they got here”. This makes Skye sob, which she tries to muffle on AJ's shoulder. Under cover of comfort, she whispers “Where is your phone?”.

LEND ME AN EAR or
THE BEGINNING OF A NEW FRIENDSHIP…
At the Q boathouse Courtney arrives to find Jax instead of AJ. She immediately attacks him and asks why he told Sonny where she was. Jax tells her that he was returning a favor and explains how Sonny got Jerry out of the country when he was facing federal charges. Courtney is less than thrilled to hear she is only favor owed, but when Jax tells her that AJ is using her, she doesn’t want to listen. Jax says his debt is paid; she and Sonny are on their own now. Courtney wonders why he followed her, Jax explains that he didn’t, he was there first. She says he looks tortured and asks if it would help to talk about it. Surprisingly, Jax does tell her about his dealings with Skye. He tells her that deep down he always knew what Skye was like, but his arrogance made him think that it would be different with him. He warns her not to let her arrogance lead her down a path that will only end in heartache. With a few more words of sage advise, he bids her good night and Courtney is left alone with her thoughts to wait for AJ.

WAITING FOR SONNY…
Carly checks her hair and make-up before letting herself into Sonny’s penthouse. To Carly’s annoyance, Alexis is busy working at the desk. After trying to get Alexis to leave and failing, Carly wanders around the room making as much noise as possible. Eventually she starts to make snide remarks which Alexis does her best to brush off. Alexis offers to tell Sonny Carly stopped by and have him call her, but Carly insists that it is important-about Michael. Sonny finally arrives, but Carly is disappointed when after she tells Sonny her important news (Michael is in a school play and he wants Sonny to attend) Sonny asks HER to leave so he can discuss business with Alexis. Before walking out, Carly hands Sonny an invite to the opening of her club (tomorrow night) and angrily tells him to bring Alexis as the invitation is for two.

SISTERLY CONFIDENCES IN THE DARK…
Sarah quietly enters Liz room, but Liz not asleep yet. Liz sits up and tells Sarah that she’ll have to stay until she feels sleepy. Sarah suggests recapping a boring class, but Liz wants Sarah’s opinion on the Lucky situation. Liz confesses that she isn’t over Lucky yet. She tells Sarah that she is happy to be at Wyndemere because living with Lucky at the loft or even Kelly’s would just be too awkward. Liz says she isn’t sure where her relationship with Lucky will go, if they even still have one, but for the moment she is just going to try to be honest about her feelings and hope Lucky will do the same. Sarah agrees.

FAMILY FIRST…
Sonny tells Alexis that he knows Gia lied about Courtney running the red light and has figured out Nik is throwing money around trying to hide it. He tells Alexis how much Nik and Gia protested his visit with Liz, how they told him 15 times that Liz just wants ‘to put the accident behind’, that he believes Liz’s statement to the police is not based on memory but the lies Nik and Gia have fed her. He is shocked when Alexis admits that she had already figured it out. When he demands to know why she didn’t tell him, she informs him that HER family is as important to her as HIS is to him. She also tells him that if he tries to go after Nik, they will find themselves on opposite sides. Sonny appears to understand, since he goes on to berate himself for letting Courtney down when she needed him. Alexis assures him he made a ‘human’ mistake-like everyone does, but Sonny wonders how he will make it up to his sister.

WISHFUL THINKING…
Carly wanders around her club turning on the lights and giving herself a pep talk about how after the opening everyone will sit up and take notice of her. She assures herself that the club will be a big hit and the place everyone wants to be.

NOT SO DIFFERENT AFTERALL…
Johnny and Max/Adam struggle to carry something unseen around the parking garage while they complain about how things are always heavier then they look (the other two men are no where to be seen). But, Alas it is NOT AJ or Skye they are putting into the trunk of a car it’s just an air compressor which they use to fill up the tires on AJ’s car. Taggart has arrived, but as usual there is no evidence of any criminal doings by the mobster’s employees-in fact they claim to be good citizens who ‘just happened by’ and offered help. Skye insists that they had “menacing attitudes” while AJ complains that apparently the PCPD is going to wait until his body is found floating in the river before they do something about Sonny and his men. Taggart warns AJ to “cease and desist” whatever he is currently doing to antagonize Sonny. Skye blurts out that AJ is messing with Sonny’s sister and Taggart tells AJ that he doesn’t blame Sonny for his actions because if AJ messed with HIS sister-he would forget he was an officer of the law and come after him with both barrels blazing. As soon as his car is ready AJ jumps in and drives off like a bat out of hell.

ONCE BITTEN-TWICE SHY…
Jax walks by Skye’s room as she is trying to open the door. She stops him and tries to convince him that she has thought long and hard about what he said to her. She tells him that she is trying to convince AJ to drop the whole Courtney idea and might have made some progress. Jax tells her it might be easier to believe if he didn’t know that AJ was meeting Courtney at the Q boathouse even as they were speaking.
But, when AJ does finally arrive at the boathouse, Courtney is no longer there.

HARD TO SAY “I’M SORRY”…
Courtney returns to the house Sonny is providing for Janine to find Sonny waiting for her. She tells him she is tired, but Sonny coaxes her to listen. He tells her that he knows she didn’t run the light the night of the accident. He apparently can’t bring himself to actually apologize, so he tries to tell her that he was too busy trying to keep Taggart from railroading her to listen to her that night, but he know the truth now and is willing to do WHATEVER it takes to clear her name-if she wants him too. WHY? questions Courtney. Sonny explains that he wants them to have a second chance. Courtney angrily starts to answer but Sonny cuts her off and tells her sleep on it then call him in the morning. Courtney accepts but warns him NOT to hold his breath waiting for her call.

A new threat is issued by Ms. Smith to L&L, their romance will unfold slowly and heat up big time this summer. Will they be on the run yet again?
