General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 27-Feb-2002

THE CASSADINE WAY:
Over at the hospital Nik teases Gia about how much she enjoys her new car. However, they are both aware that Sarah (who is watching them) can blow their story by telling how much Gia drank the night of the accident. After Gia goes to see Liz, Nik approaches Sarah who says she doesn’t have time to talk she is late for a lecture. Nik again tries to say that Gia only had a sip of champagne and some how the conversation ends up with Sarah as the baddie. Nik tells her she has no right to just show up after several years away with barely and e-mail and act like she knows what is best for everyone. Sarah defends her actions and says she will not let Liz be hurt by ANYBODY’s lies. As she walks away, she runs into Dr. Caldwell, who reprimands her for missing the lecture, then punishes her by ordering to observe a procedure on her day off. Now as Dr. Caldwell walks away, Nik catches his attention. Nik tells Dr. Caldwell that it was too bad he didn’t get the job as chief resident-but Nik has his eye on him and thinks Dr. Caldwell can still get ahead. Nik tells Dr. Caldwell that his experience could greatly benefit the interns-if he would just give them a guiding hand. Nik specifically mentions that Dr. Webber (Sarah) is a personal friend and the hospital is lucky to have her. Dr. Caldwell leaves and Helena applauds Nik’s power play. She tells Nik that she sees Stavros in him. Nik questions his grandmother’s presence in at GH. Helena explains that apparently the months in jail have taken a toll and she may need surgery (for what she doesn’t say-maybe they will need to surgically remove her from the hideous orange jumpsuit). Taggart appears and after a couple of more taunts from Helena, she is escort away by her guard. Nik tells Taggs he doesn’t want Helena back at GH, but Taggart says GH & PCPD have a contract. Nik offers to pay whatever amount is necessary, but Taggart says there is nothing he can do. Taggart then warns that money can’t fix everything, sometimes it only causes more problems. He also warns Nik that he doesn’t want Gia to end up like the other women who where involved with Cassadine men. Namely Katherine (Bell) and Chloe. Before leaving Taggart express the hope that Nik is more like his mother, than his father…

ASK ME NO SECRETS:
In her room, Jax and Skye continue to dance around, neither one willing to admit if they have feelings for the other. They both answer each questions with a question. Skye asks, in a sarcastic way, so what if everything she did was to get Jax’s attention. In the end Jax leaves after realizing that he will not get a straight answer to his questions from Skye…

I’LL TELL YOU NO(-THING BUT) LIES:
In his suite, AJ tells Courtney that he is falling in love with her. He doesn’t know how or when it happened but he is falling for her. Courtney immediately gets suspicious and asks if that is what all the presents are about. She restates her sentiment that most men don’t give something without expecting something in return. AJ plays the gallant very well and does his best to convince Courtney he expects nothing in return-he just wants to see her smile. He then tells Courtney that if she is uncomfortable she can leave, and gives her the $10,000 (cash-cause it would be hard to cash a check) he promised her. He leaves saying that if she wants to go just use her key to lock the door…

MOMMY DEAREST KNOWS BEST:
After walking in to Alexis’ penthouse (I find myself wondering WHY Sonny bothers to keep bodyguards when apparently anyone can just waltz on to his floor anytime they feel like it) Janine starts to tell Sonny where Courtney is but changes her mind after a barrage of questions from Sonny. She ends up telling him that Courtney is with a ‘friend’; she is safe but wants nothing to do with Sonny just yet. Sonny won’t give up and tries to convince Janine that Courtney could be at risk because it is public knowledge that she is HIS sister. Still, Janine won’t budge on Courtney’s whereabouts. She tries to leave, but he prevents her from opening the door. Sonny tries to give Janine money to send to Courtney but Janine refuses. She tells Sonny that Courtney doesn’t need his money and neither does she. She tells Sonny that she will be moving out of the house he provided and will find her own place. Alexis (pulling a box things Courtney left behind from the closet) tells Janine to take them and send them to Courtney, then suggests Sonny write a note to his sister and slip it in with her things. Janine refuses because she believes Sonny would find the box and get Courtney whereabouts even if he had to burn the Post Office down to do it. Finally Janine opens the door to leave and finds herself face to face with Mike who was about to knock... Mike asks about Courtney, but Janine quickly tells him Sonny and Alexis can fill him in before entering the elevator, where Jax is just exiting. (AGAIN-I wonder where Johnny, Max & Adam are?). Jax inquires about Courtney, but is told (quite rudely) by Sonny to mind his own business. Sonny goes off to his PH, with Mike right behind him despite Alexis’ advice to give Sonny time alone. Alexis tells Jax now is not a good time for whatever he wants. Jax tells her too bad, cause it’s about to get worse…

MI CASA ES EVERYBODY’S CASA:
In Liz’s room, Gia gives Liz a new pretty peach color robe to wear when she gets home. Lucky enters and announces that he has put a deposit on a loft and Liz can come home with him instead of to her room at Kelly’s. Liz protest that they are not ready to live together, but Lucky does his best to convince her that it would work. Sarah enters and tells Lucky no need; Liz has already agreed to move back to Audrey’s house with her. She and Lucky step out into the hall where they have the same discussion that she and Nik did. Meanwhile inside Gia goes on about her new car, but realizes that Liz is not listening. Gia hears that the radio is playing the same song as the night of the crash, apologizes to Liz for babbling and turns off the radio. Lucky and Sarah return in time to hear Liz say the song is bringing back the accident and turn the radio back on. Nik appears in the door way just in time to hear that the song is clearing Liz’s memory of that night, so he barges and turns off the radio saying Liz should be resting, not pushing herself to remember. However, Liz turns the radio back on insisting it is helping. Nik and Gia watch, unable to do anything else without drawing unwanted attention, but the moment is gone and Liz can’t remember anything new. Gia fills Nik in on the battle to get Liz “home” , then Nik suggests that they ALL move into Wyndemere (even Audrey). The place is big enough for everyone, plus then Liz can go home with both Sarah and Lucky (But we all know there is more to it then that). Everyone agrees, but Gia does not look pleased with the turn of events. Dr. Caldwell appears in the doorway and asks to speak to Sarah in the hall. Sarah, expecting another set down, is stunned when the Dr. not only apologizes to her for his previous behavior, but is actually nice to her. When she re-enters the room, she realizes Nik may have had a hand in the Doctor’s new attitude…

SECOND CHANCE:
In Sonny’s penthouse, Mike asks Sonny why he isn’t worried about not knowing where Courtney is. Sonny answers that he offered Janine money to give to Courtney but she wouldn’t take it. That means Janine DOES know where Courtney is and believes she is safe. He also tells Mike that Janine is making plans to remain in town, which means that Courtney either never left town or she is planning on returning soon and Janine knows it. Sonny adds that all they can do now is watch Janine and wait. Mike leaves after asking Sonny to inform ASAP on any news about Courtney; he doesn’t want to blow a second chance with HER…

SUSPICIOUS MIND:
Across the hall, Jax admits to Alexis that Skye did lie about Sonny stalking her, but warns her that it doesn’t mean Sonny won’t hurt her. Jax inquires about Courtney, but Alexis isn’t forthcoming with any info. The box of Courtney’s things is on the table and Jax picks up a sweater (I think) and asks whom it belongs to. Alexis tells him Courtney left it behind and asks why he wants to know. As he replaces the item he appears indifferent and comments that it was just idle curiosity, but it is apparent that he is thinking about something…

THE PRICE OF LOVE:
In Skye’s suite Janine reports to AJ that she did as he wanted and told Sonny that Courtney was safe, but out of town. She then informs AJ that her lies come with a price, to which AJ hands over a nice fat envelope and assures her there is more where that came from as long as Janine helps him. Janine leaves but not before warning AJ that if he hurts Courtney SHE will make him pay. Skye tells AJ that there is still time to get out of the scheme, but AJ is too happy with how things are going to stop now…

A WOMAN’S PEROGATIVE:
Alexis knocks enters and tells Sonny that what ever flaws Janine has, she loves Courtney and wouldn’t put her in danger so she must be safe. Sonny agrees that Janine THINKS Courtney is safe, but he isn’t sure. Sonny tells Alexis that even though HE doesn’t want her to move he’ll understand if she wants to leave. Alexis smiles and says she is not going anywhere…

BEHIND DOOR #1:
At the PC Hotel, Jax exits the elevator and approaches a door. It quickly becomes apparent that it is not HIS door, since he drops to his knees and proceeds to pick the lock…

Inside AJ’s PH, Courtney daydreams a scene from pretty woman with her and AJ in the lead roles. The lights are dim, the fire is blazing, she is sitting and waiting; suddenly the door knob starts to rattle…
