General Hospital Update for Thursday, 7-Feb-2002

Today's episode was a little on the slow paced side, but still worth the watch to see the scenes between Sonny & Alexis and A.J. & Courtney. OF course that is just my opinion...

PC GRILL:
Bobbie and Scott enjoy a night out on the town and end up at the PC Grill. Felicia happens by and invites herself to join them. When Scott excuses himself, Felicia presses Bobbie for details. Bobbie denies any romantic interest in Scott, but later accepts another outing with him-to a hockey game.

MALL PARKING LOT:
Zander gives a jittery Carly her very first very driving lesson in an empty parking lot at the mall. Things start off well and he convinces her to move the lesson on to the open road. They are moving along fine, Carly manages to change gears and speed up, but she suddenly pulls up short after seeing a car accident. Zander drives Carly home and manages to get her to confide how a friend's death in a car crash badly traumatized her. Carly gives Zander the details of how her best friend (in high school) the REAL Carly died after being hit by a drunk driver-right before her eyes. Carly tells him that she herself had been in the car, but her friends where pulling a joke on her and took off when she went for a sweater. Carly (or Caroline as she was known then) feels guilty because as they where leaving she yelled at them that she hoped they ‘crashed and burned'-which they promptly did. Carly goes on to tell Zander that she reached the wreckage first, and found her friend covered in blood. All in all it was a pretty traumatic experience for her-she has hated cars ever since. (Funny how it didn’t seem to bother her that much last year, when she got behind the wheel of Sonny’s car and promptly backed into Miss Angel Sorrel Ellis’ car).

PC GRILL:
In his quest to cover up the REAL cause of the accident, Nik visits the PC Grill, finds the waiter who served them the champagne and offers him a job as head waiter in a resort he owns-OUT OF THE COUNTRY. Conveniently enough the man must take the job and leave within THREE hours.

GH-PRIVATE ROOM:
Gia is relieved to learn from Sarah that Liz is out of surgery and will apparently recover from her injuries. Sarah is surprised that Gia and Liz are THAT close. After looking through the chart Sarah comments that Gia’s blood work is missing the police ordered-customary after an accident-BA test. Gia (stupidly) comments that she didn’t really drink anything. Though Sarah seems to recall Gia having a glass of champagne during dinner, Nik firmly insists that HE drank almost all of Gia’s drink. Later, Nik tells Gia that he has taken care of all the loose ends. The waiter is out of the country; the witness has been paid off to point the finger at Courtney. Gia protests that she doesn’t want to cause trouble for the girl. Nik assures her that Sonny will see to it that Courtney is protected, so Gia gives in (TOO easily in my opinion). Gia picks this time to tell Nik that Elizabeth knows the truth and will tell it as soon as she regains consciousness.

HARBORVIEW TOWERS-ALEXIS’ PH:
Alexis literally pulls the plug on Sonny’s phone call to find his sister and advises him to play the waiting game and give his sister some space. Sonny takes advantage of Alexis’ offer to ‘teach him how to wait’ by slyly pressing her to reveal how she really feels about him. Lexi (in her endearing way) babbles about how she didn’t like him at first, but then he would do something to redeem himself, and then back again. The moment is broken when Kristina arrives home. Lexi invites Kris to join the waiting game and goes off to make her world famous popcorn. Kristina takes advantage of the opportunity to again tell Sonny she was wrong about her sister’s feeling for him. Then steps in it again when she says that it’s a good thing because he is wrong for her. Sonny tells her that he admires her for protecting her sister, and then sends her off to bed. The amazing thing is that Kris just goes (where is the spunk that had her standing up to him in the first place?).

PC HOTEL-AJ’S PH:
Certain no one believes her story; Courtney tells AJ that she wants to pick up the check he offered her before. After getting her to tearfully pour out the details A.J. strengthens his position by telling her HE believes her. Courtney confides that she can’t turn to one parent without pissing off the other. Sonny would take care of everything, but she can’t go to him because he is always so cold with her, plus she doesn’t want him to think he can tell her what to do. AJ is secretly thrilled with the turn of events and advises Courtney NOT to run away, but gives her the check AND his car keys. Courtney is grateful and turns to leave, but breaks down into tears before she make it to the door. AJ gathers her close to offer comfort, while smuggly grinning the whole time…
