At the PC Grille...
Gia & Liz make their way back to their men, where Sarah is telling of her adventures in Greece. Upon seeing Liz, Sarah jumps up and hugs her. She starts in about how sorry she is to have missed the wedding and how great Lucky & Liz look so marriage must be agreeing with them. She realizes she has said something wrong, but Gia lies about the reason why there was no marriage and, after a short catch-up session, she drags Liz back into the bathroom. Gia asks why Liz doesn’t seem to like Sarah. Liz just explains that Sarah is perfect and that everyone loves Sarah. She can’t compete. She lets it slip that Nikolas and Sarah had been an item, something Gia doesn’t want to hear. Back at the table, Sarah asks the boys what is going on. Lucky admits it was his fault about the wedding. Nikolas steps in and says it was his fault. Sarah wants Liz to tell her what happened at the wedding. They decide to go to Audrey’s and spend the whole night talking, catching up. In the limo on the way home, Gia asks Nikolas how serious he was with Sarah. He admits she was the first girl he ever loved, something every fiancé wants to hear about the new girl in town. He explains their history and she is a little annoyed. She begs to know how he feels about things; she doesn’t like being shut out.
In Jax’s hotel room...
Skye starts in on her latest plan to snag Jax. She tells him she needs a strong partner to practice her self-defense moves on. They practice or flirt, whatever you want to call it. Later, she comes back into his room, shaken up. She pulls out a playing card, the queen of hearts, with the middle burnt out. He assumes it was from Sonny and vows to protect her. He asks her to start making a list of all her enemies until they can figure out who is threatening her. They’ll stay up the whole night, if they have to. (I’m sorry, but the whole night? Is he kidding? They’ll need months to track all her enemies.)
At the hospital...
Melissa is freaking out at the hospital. She is ready to talk to Alan to fight for her job. Tony asks her about a patient of his that died recently. It was an old woman who seemed to die out of the blue. Melissa said it probably was for the best. (Not sure if this is some kind of foreshadowing or just lame dialogue to give Tony something to do in January.) Alan shows up and Melissa says her piece. Alan accepts her back, apologizing. She tells Roy how serious she is about helping people. Melissa goes in to see Edward and promises him she will ALWAYS take care of him.
At Alexis’ penthouse...
Sonny asks to come in to Alexis’ apartment. She isn’t exactly civil to him. He wants to talk. She assumes she is needed for some legal matter. He explains that it isn’t business, it’s personal. In his words, “it’s as personal as it gets.” She tells him off for treating Zander poorly, berates him for his destructive behavior and his impossibly high standards… he cuts her off and apologizes, much to Alexis’ surprise. Sonny tells her that she is important to him and that he hasn’t been listening to her the way he should be. Before he can get much further, Kristina bursts in and interrupts. She doesn’t get to warn Alexis about what she told Sonny and goes upstairs. Sonny and Alexis talk some more, he seems to want her to admit that she loves him, but all Alexis says is that he’s chauvinistic, morally challenged and a few other choice words. But, she does end by saying he’s incredibly charming. He leaves and, on the way out, tells her that he knows what she says comes from a good place. Whatever, Sonny. Kristina comes down to check on Alexis and tries to tell her what she told Sonny, but, of course, Alexis doesn’t give her a chance.
At Carly’s Club...
Carly tells Zander she would never use him. Zander starts in again how he has something to tell her. She suggests he just come out with it. He thanks her for helping him get over Emily. She doesn’t understand. Sonny shows up. First up, he talks to Zander. He sort of apologizes; at least, he respects Zander’s truth-telling and offers him his job back. Zander turns him down because he doesn’t want to ever tell Sonny things that Carly wouldn’t want him to know. Alone, Carly & Sonny talk. She tells him how she doesn’t appreciate him having someone check up on her. He admits to her that someday he hopes he doesn’t step on the feelings of people who care about him. Carly says he is a good man and getting better every day. Zander overhears their tender exchange. When Sonny leaves, Carly finally asks Zander to spit out what he’s been trying to say. He finally says she is his best friend. She says the feeling is mutual and they hug.
