General Hospital Update for Friday, 11-Jan-2002

Today's episode was slow for a Friday, but could lead to some interesting stuff later on...

SAME STORY DIFFERENT DAY…
Sonny reminds Alexis that he has heard Mike's same old sob story again and again, and is only trying to save Courtney from going through the same anguish. Alexis gently advises him not to project his own pain onto his kid sister or he will only risk alienating her further. Carly arrives and breaks up the closeness of the moment. She tells Sonny how Roscoe tried to shake her down. Sonny chastises Carly for putting herself at risk; She was in a bad area, basically alone, and without a security system. Carly warns Sonny that Zander is heading into trouble; She thinks he is going to confront Roscoe himself. Sonny rushes off and Alexis accuses Carly of deliberately getting into trouble. Carly decides to wait for her cab DOWNSTAIRS, despite Sonny’s warnings.

LET’S TALK ABOUT LOVE…
Bobbie admits to her aggravated nephew that she agreed to hide Elizabeth at the brownstone. Bobbie dispenses some sage advice to Lucky about the trials and tribulations of falling in and out of love. Basically she advises her nephew to give Liz (and love) time and a little space.

SITTING ON THE DOCK (OF PC)…
Wandering the docks alone at night, a miserable Elizabeth bumps into Zander and asks how he handled getting dumped by the woman he loved. Zander is very brusque with her, and Liz thinks it is payback for not backing his and Emily’s romance. Zander is expecting Roscoe, but he fails to get rid of Liz, before the enforcer shows up. Roscoe warns Zander that this is the big leagues and now his ‘friends will pay for the disrespect’. Roscoe threatens Elizabeth with a knife. Lucky approaches Roscoe from behind and manages to disarm him. He and Zander wrestle the thug to the ground. Sonny arrives to find a subdued Roscoe and takes matters into his own hands to punish the man who threatened Carly and injured Zander. Liz and Lucky take off and Lucky asks Liz to tell HIM what she couldn’t tell Bobbie. Sonny calls Zander on the carpet for NOT calling him immediately. Carly arrives and Sonny presses Zander to take her home.

B. Y. O. K. (knife)
Edward furiously accuses A.J. of turning Lila against him, after finding out that she has locked her door. Monica informs Edward that she has also had a talk with Lila. Edward does his usual huffing but does not get any sympathy from his family. He appeals to Ned to reason with the others. Fed up with playing referee for his incessantly bickering family, Ned reads them the riot act. He tells all he will no longer waste his time trying to hold the family together and points out each member’s faults to a ‘T’. He excuses himself to go see Kristina. Lila arrives and tells Edward that THIS time he really has gone too far. Realizing that all have turned against him, Edward rants at them. Monica tells him to leave HER house. Edward states he wouldn’t stay NOW anyway and storms off into the night; but it is obvious he is suffering from heart pains as he leaves.

LOVE THY NEIGHBOR…
At his hotel room, Jax (looking yummy wearing only a towel) is discussing finances on the phone when there is a knock at his door. Skye informs Jax that she's moved into the room right across the hall from his. She gives him a spiel about needing a vacation from the Q dysfunction, but Jax doesn’t swallow it. After a re-tooled version (apparently easier to swallow) Jax invites Ms. Chandler-Q to stay for a drink. But surprise, Skye declines. Later, Jax rushes to her rescue when he hears screams coming from her room. Skye (dressed in revealing black negligee) tells Jax someone was outside her room. Jax dismisses the Q’s as possibilities, but says it could have been one of Sonny’s men. Jax informs Skye that he will spend the night to make sure she is safe. Skye thanks him, while hiding a sly smile…

NEWS
Michelle Val Jean is returning to pen GH scripts!
Angel Boris (ex-Angel Sorrel Ellis) will appear on a special "Fear Factor" on Feb 3rd. (The show will feature Playboy centerfolds. Miss Boris was July 1996.) NBC is airing the show during the SUPERBOWL, hoping to steal some viewers.
Leslie Charleston and Stuart Damon WILL NOT be leaving their roles as Alan and Monica as reported by SOU.
ANOTHER SISTER: Sarah Laine, most recently seen on an episode of "Spin City" will appear as Sarah Webber, Liz's older sister.

RUMORS (Some might/could be true!)
Edward decides he's had enough of the Mansion and decides to move in with Melissa. He then adopts her!
Speaking of Melissa....will she go out with a whimper or a bang??! This just might be the start of Roy's police career ...looking for her murderer!
Skye hears wedding bells; while Jax hears warning sirens.
Mike finally takes the hint and leaves town--but not before stealing almost everything that isn't nailed down at the coffee warehouse.
Janine buys Kelly's Diner and settles in as the new Tammy/Ruby.
Courtney lives upstairs and works as a waitress. Sonny is thrilled to have a real life family member to take care of 24-7.
Luke and Laura remarry during sweeps week...but not without complications.
One of their old enemies pops up....and it's not who you might think~!
